  1. Fuel Shok Bronze 18x9 +1offset with the Stock Duratrac tires - no additional lift or level Discount Tire had ordered me a set of black lug nuts, but they were delayed so the chrome lug nuts are temporary.
  2. Yes! Here is a photo of the service sheet which specifies updates. I assumed that one was infotainment because when I picked up the truck it ejected the NAV SD card and then loaded an update before I drove it home. Looking closer it seems like the two updates were for the brake system issue and a reductant control module update which is specific to the Diesel emissions stuff. WALLY
  3. I went sledding and got my truck dirty. It wasn't intentional, but everything thawed out while I was riding so I ended up in a mess. I was really pleased with my AT4. It got me home and I don't think my old '16 Sierra 5.3 SLT would have been able to do that. At one point I had to unload the sleds so my AT4 could drag the trailer through deeper stuff. FYI, I am running General Grabber studded snow tires on the stock wheels which were great when everything was frozen, but the Duratracs would have made the ride home alot easier. Towing with the 3.0 and 10-spd was pretty smooth. Better than the 5.3 in every way, more similar to the 6.2 except at the top end. Fuel mileage on the freeway (80mph) was about 10 mpg which is also similar to the 6.2 with this same load. The 6.6 HD 2500 will pull this same trailer at a consistent 14.8 mpg anywhere and every day of the week. In a headwind the 5.3 or 6.2 mpg's will typically drop in half so I am hoping that the 3.0 will maintain that 10mpg result more consistently. Time will tell... WALLY
  4. I had one of those once, driving in a strong crosswind and the seal didn't hold - the wind lifted it up and it flapped like superman's cape - scratching and denting the side of my truck while I pulled to the side of the freeway. Maybe it was just a freak occurrence but I went back to the Lo-Pro after that. It seals very nicely, I will take and post a few more photos...
  5. Thanks! I think its perfect UPDATE: I picked up my truck yesterday, one of the DPF sensors was failing. The cost to diagnose and replace would have been about $800 without the warranty. I have had two of these fail on my 2016 Colorado (2.8 TD). This indicates a potential for higher maintenance for a diesel over the long term unless some delete options emerge. I got an extended (120k mile) warranty so I am not worried about it, but still just kinda interested in those costs overall. I do love this truck. They also applied the two latest updates that were released while it was in the shop - one was for the braking system and the other was for infotainment.
  6. Just got an update... The sensor arrived but the technician won't have time to install it until tomorrow by EOD so I will have it for the weekend. I asked them to check for recalls and they initially confirmed that it was all up to date, but today they said that two new updates were just released so they are going to get those done also. I will find out more info on those when I pick it up. On a side note, it seems like they have a HUGE number of T1's in for service right now, and the diesel specialists are especially highly constrained. I think TSB's and recalls have the service department running hard. Now I know where a good portion of my $61k is going. WALLY
  7. I went with the new Truxedo pro X15. I have tried other brands, and this is an evolution of the Truxedo Lo-Pro which is the one that I have liked the best so far. It is similar but uses a heavy duty fabric instead of vinyl, which is supposed to add durability and hide the dirt a little better. For a about $500, so far I am really happy with it. I have also tried the cheaper Truxedo covers and in my experience the velcro doesn't hold as well. This one seems really good. WALLY
  8. I bought my 2020 GMC AT4 back in early December. I took delivery up in Montana so my first drive was a 750 mile trip home. I have driven it very little since and it currently has about 1500 miles on it. I noticed the CEL on the other day so I plugged my ODB scanner into to reveal a Code P2002 Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold. It was running fine, no other apparent symptoms. Read more at: https://www.obd-codes.com/p2002 I took it into the dealer two days ago. They called me later that afternoon and said that it was a new situation and that they were working with GM Engineers to determine a proper course of action but they would like to keep it overnight. I wasn't surprised, in fact I expect that out of a new power plant and I have a daily driver. Yesterday they let me know they were Fed-Exing an "exhaust pressure differential sensor" from Lansing. They said the truck was OK to drive and that I could pick it up if I wanted. I elected to wait until the repair was completed and hope to have it back today. I didn't see this code posted on the forum so I thought I would drop this information here for others to search. I will provide another update when I get the truck back. I will also ask what this would cost if it wasn't under warranty because I think that is useful information for evaluating the total cost of owning the LM2 diesel plant. I did get an extended warranty but cost/risk and warranty coverage will be a inevitably be a huge factor in deciding how long to keep this particular rig. I really really like driving it, more than the 6.2 and ALOT more than the 5.3. I haven't towed with it yet but I hope to try that out this weekend. WALLY
  9. I wanted something functional and simple so I went with basic work steps (GM Accessory).
  10. I bought a new 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 Crew, Smokey Quartz with the 3.0L Diesel engine. I could have bought a comparable truck locally for less money, but I decided to get the truck I wanted in the engine & color I wanted, so I was prepared to take a hit on the price to find the right one. With an MSRP of $64985 I think I did OK at $55k plus Tax, Title, and Doc Fee and the 700 mile drive home. I got a $700 Costco cash card, $400 in Business Choice upfit cash, and $200 off accessories from Costco (50% off up to $200 after the survey) which stacks with my $100 voucher for accessories from gmrewards. I also purchased the extended warranty (10 years/100k) for another $2500. I purchased from Corwin GMC in Kalispell - ask for Sue because she was pretty awesome to work with - No BS at all. Installed Options Sunroof, power $995.00 Technology Package $2,305.00 Smokey Quartz Metallic $495.00 Engine, Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel I6 $2,495.00 Driver Alert Package II $1,095.00 AT4 Preferred Package $1,420.00 Driver Alert Package I $890.00 Tires, LT275/65R18C MT blackwall Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac $295.00 Total Options $9,990.00 MSRP* $64,985.00 Sell Price $55,000.00 I put studded snow tires on it as soon as I got it home. So far I am really loving this new Duramax engine. I haven't towed with it yet, but it feels very torquey. I took it out on the highway and got: 21 to 24 mpg at 80+ mph in 2wd 24 to 27 mpg at 70+ mph in 2wd 27 to 33 mpg at 55+ mph in Auto (snow storm) 36 mpg at 50 mph in Auto (bad snow storm) These numbers are based upon the truck's average calculated fuel economy over a 50 mile distance. I am averaging 24mph in town, but I haven't driven it very much in town yet.
  11. I put a deposit on a new 2020 Sierra AT4 up in Montana (I am in Idaho). The truck is scheduled for delivery to the dealer some time this week and I plan on taking delivery in a couple of weeks. Installed Options Sunroof, power $995.00 Technology Package $2,305.00 Smokey Quartz Metallic $495.00 Engine, Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel I6 $2,495.00 Driver Alert Package II $1,095.00 AT4 Preferred Package $1,420.00 Driver Alert Package I $890.00 Tires, LT275/65R18C MT blackwall Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac $295.00 MSRP* $64,985.00 I pulled the trigger when I got to a cash price of $55,000 plus tax/title/doc I didn't haggle as much as I normally would because there are no other Sierras equipped exactly the way I want, especially in the combination of the AT4 + SmokeyQuartz + 3.0l Diesel. The 3.0l is especially constrained and this dealer told me that they were only allotted two units with the 3.0 diesel between now and February. I do get additional $700 in costco rebate, and $400 in Business Choice upfit cash (to spend on GM accessories), and another $100 in accessories from GMRewards. Also, I saw that if you fill out the survey from Costco then you'll get a 50% coupon for accessories (up to $200 savings).
