  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks everyone and especially Newdude for taking the time to explain the story in detail. I am now much more confident about what I’m ordering.
  3. Thank you for the website reference. It helped a lot, now I can see that there are some other warranties applied to my truck, Thanks again.
  4. Thank you, I took my truck and fortunately it was covered. I am not sure why the guy said it was not. Everything is good, thanks again.
  5. Just was clarifying as a lot has happened in the last 12 years in the filter business Definitely wasn't questioning your impression of the new filters as they are definitely of a better construction it seems vs. the blue ones. We did see a couple of the PF48A's and PF64A/B leak though at the seam where the can and the baseplate mate up. Right out of the box too. So I don't know if it was a bad batch that slipped through or what. 48A would be on like 07-14 LS V8 engines, 64A/B would be like 2018-current Chevy Equinox.
  6. I’m have Magnaflow. Good low note, not loud. However, with aftermarket y pipe and cats, and aftermarket engine, I am surprised you didn’t already do headers. Stock type manifold? That will change the exhaust note a lot to any downstream piece.
  7. Jeeze, get it right next time please!
  8. My '22 had the issue. I fixed it in 10 minutes. Basically involves removing the two bolts holding the plastic assembly around the steering column to access the switch. Take a zip tie and zip tie the switch so it makes contact and doesn't send "shift to park" messages. Replace the trim panels. I actually did my repair in the parking lot of Home Depot, only because I had to pick up a package of zip ties. There are a number of videos on YouTube...
  9. did update day before yesterday, now the push to talk does work to make call, any thoughts
  10. Today
  11. If your Bak Revolver X4S is less than 5 years old, reach out to their customer support team. Email: [email protected] Send them pics of the issue along with the serial number and proof of purchase. As long as it's within warranty they will ship you a new one. I love my Revolver X4S but my shoulders needed something that was easier to open and close. Just "upgraded" to the MX4 EZ-Lift. I'll put a write up together and post it; I'm very happy with it so far.
  12. OK...so I was partially correct. It's not Champion but Premium Guard who is now making the filters for GM. I stand by everything else though.
  13. Anyone who would be willing to help can't because you left off the last 6 of the VIN. Besides that point. You yourself can answer your own question HERE - GM Recall Information | Chevy account | Chevrolet Put your whole VIN in and it will show you all active and expired warranties and coverages.
  14. Correct. Supplier changes because of the First Brands bankruptcy. From First Brands (Fram) to Premium Guard. Champ Labs hasn't "made" filters for almost 12 years. They got bought by Fram in 2014, and then Fram got bought by First Brands in 2019. First Brands no longer makes oil filters as a result of the bankruptcy. Fram fixed and improved the eCore design that Champ made a long time ago that many people didn't care for. So Champ branded filters for the last 12 years are made by Fram using their old design, and then using the new design that was created under Fram. Premium Guard bought the assets from First Brands mid this year. Oil filters, wipers, air and cabin filters, and respective brand names. Premium Guard makes a lot of private label filters including Napa Gold, Carquest, and others. Their main filter supply flow comes from Vietnam Advanced Filtration Inc. Premium Guard Inc. 15. The blue filters were made by First Brands for AC/DELCO and they went bankrupt. The replacements are now being manufactured by Champion and they are labeled PF63A/PF66A etc. Perfectly fine to use. Interestingly, I just picked up a PF66A for my LM2 Duramax and it is definitely heavier and feels more robust than the blue PF66 ever did. The new one is also painted black. The box had the genuine GM hologram on it, so it's the right one.
  16. i just looked at the N232395310 and it shows your truck is covered, i don't think the vin matters
  17. Interesting. There's always WIX WL10255XP though.
  18. I went to order some PF63 oil filters from an on line GM parts source, and the blue PF63 oil filters seem to be getting phased out. They show the new part number as 19363567, which is a black colored AC Delco Silver product apparently marked PF63A. Some sites show a part number 12693541, which is a black colored AC Delco Ultragard Gold filter marked UPF63R. I assume the UPF63R is the better one, but I’d be happy if I could just get blue PF63 filters I’ve been using. Can anyone explain what is going on with the filter part number changes and any actual design changes? Any other advice on buying OEM filters right now? Thanks
  19. thanks for coming back and posting what the fix turned out to be.
  20. Only TAN I have for the product was at 5K in service miles and it was 2.71
  21. If anyone lands here looking for an update - the problem wasnt with the hose, the clamp, etc... I purchased a metal Thermostat housing that just must not of been made to spec. It just wouldn't plug up the hose.. Went back to a plastic cheap housing - leak fixed. Some plumbers tape carefully placed in tandem with a clamp likely would've gotten the job done. Best,
  22. For anyone following, this is what I have deduced from this forum - and my very specific niche case. Please do let me know if you see me going in the wrong direction here. For context, I have a 16 sierra 1500 w/t. Has TC and Cargo light switches. Removed the switch to find the X1 and X2 of the S48A connection populated with wires (x1 10-14, and x2 1-5). Took photos of the X61A-X5 to find the wires from S48A-X1 land here at their respective pins (10, 11, 17, 23 on the X5). Was hopeful that this means my X51A fuse box has the appropriate pins... No cigar. So now I will be routing wires from the rear of the X61A-X1 to the engine bay and to their respective negative relay triggers. Please see to the diagram. If any has insight as to where the S48A-X2 pins 4 and 5 land that would be awesome. Will be attempting this sometime shortly and will likely make a youtube video out of it. Note: please disregard fuse sizes. Main fuse will likely be 25A, all mini bus fuses will likely be 10-15A. Here is my parts list: GM 84347199 - TC, Cargo Light, Exhaust Brake (useless to me unless I find a means to reconfigure), Aux 1 - 4. 12V 6 Way Pre-Wired Fuse Relay Box Kit with 4 x 40A 4-Pin Relays (link below - some mods required to make negative trigger) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0F4KCS43B?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Various wire sizes (12 AWG - red and black, 14 AWG, 16 AWG multi-colored bundle) Wire termination leads for X61A-X1 (unknown at this time) Crimp connectors/Soldering Gun Heat Shrink Split Wire Loom To be continued... Cheers
  23. 287,500 Mile Service 8/13/2026 Reset Fuel Trims Since the work done in the previous post there was a good improvement in response in all areas except right after a fill up where the LTFT would go -20%+ for about four miles while the STFT was near neutral. Before the work they both went very negative for a few miles after a fill up but act normal thereafter. We did a systems check of the vapor recovery system for functionality and ability to hold a vacuum. That checked out fine. But this doesn't mean the charcoal canister is dead in the water. Testing that is next up. For now the reset of the fuel trims. I intentionally shorted the fill exactly two gallons to eliminate any chance of filling the canister. On start up the trims were behaving normally until I got up and rolling where the LTFT went -10 / -11%% but the short was + 2 to 0%. Within a mile the the STFT offset the LTFT and by 2 miles they were neutral. HUGE improvement but still not hunky-dory. I'll watch them for a few days. Perhaps another tank where I will fill completely to 'first click' and compare. Meanwhile on the hunt for a new canister and I'll toss another purge value at it for good measure. Pending the outcome of the canister test that is. Progress of any kind is welcome. Fuel economy improvement with bringing hole #3 back to the living was a noticeable bump to the positive. Even on the few miles I drove after the refill I already see another bump up by the trims reset. She's purring like a kitten with a warm bowl of milk. BTW, adding 50 rpm to the idle took the majority of the negative timing out on cold start up and leaned the cold idle. No longer burbles in the cat. What a dumb way to heat a cat.
  24. Yeah, shame I can’t really get that filter easily anymore. Running a PureOne. Your fave! TAN would be neat to see. Confirmation I ran it too long probably.
  25. My son and I both bought new trucks in 2017. Both of us immediately put Truck Covers USA American Roll Covers on our trucks. My son still has his truck and it never sees the inside of a garage. We live in Alabama, so not much snow. My truck was my daily driver and was in the garage when I wasn't driving it or at work. No issues with either cover even after almost 9 years. About a year ago I sold my truck to my brother and bought a 2025 Silverado 2500. The second thing that I put on that truck was a new Truck Covers USA cover. They are very well made and have a very positive locking system. I looked at a Retrax and my concern was the way that the cover locked to the rail. BTW, the first thing I put on the new truck was step bars. Those new trucks are high!
  26. The Allison 10 speed torque converter doesn't "lock up" like the previous transmissions. It has 4 operational modes; open, slip, transition from open to slip; transition from slip to open. I have an Edge CTS3 monitor and I monitor transmission torque converter slip. Step on the gas and you get a little slip. Take your foot off the gas and you get a little negative slip. I have not found a way to display the torque converter mode beyond that. My Edge CTS3 also displays something that our trucks should already display, the current gear. I also monitor throttle body position and engine load. If I see the engine load getting too high, I'll manually drop a gear.

  28. Nice result. Your filter is working well I'd have like to have seen the acid number for this sample. Curious type that I am.
