  1. Problem solved everyone. When I purchased the mirrors, the seller gave me the mirror control switch and the wiring harnesses from his truck. The mirror control switch ( GM item 23154702) connected to my existing harness and voila, everything works great. No extra wiring required. One happy camper here.

  2. It’s official: dealer just confirmed this evening, I’m to receive a new long block! The number 1 rod bearing spun putting shavings in the oil. New 6.6 engine will be ordered in the morning.

  3. So a few people on the internet out of the hundreds of thousands sold leads you to believe that. Got it.

  4. Long story short, I bought those discontinued GM ones back when they were still available. I don't recall how much but it was less than $300 I think. I have a Silverado instead of a Sierra. I bought them because I accidentally customized my front right fender and body shop was estimating $8-900 or possibly more to fix the damage. I took a chance on the flares and they covered the damage completely. They were a bit challenging fitting the rubber lip all the way around the outer edge and getting it to stay in place. But they came out perfectly. As far as coverage, the bottom part goes right around the lip of the wheel well so they cover quite a bit. Just to add, I installed these in Dec 2021 and they still look decent

  8. I had tow mirrors installed by the dealer. They replaced the door harness (still have the original if anyone needs it). Later, I bought power fold tow mirrors from boost auto, no need for a harness but I did have to buy the folding switch setup for the door panel.

  9. No I don’t do my own oil changes and yes I’ve checked the oil level after each change regularly, dealer removed rollers and push rods today all look good on right bank, so going deeper tomorrow by removing head to get to lifters we will see what they find at that point!

  10. Bearing speed kills with perfect machining. Just showing the board what bearing speed is. Not talked about much.

  13. The expert on this kind of thing is @pgamboa but I haven't seen him on lately. You can try sending him a PM or try looking at his website at https://harnessdr.com/ and see he can answer your question. He does offer an option here. https://harnessdr.com/product/2014-2019-dl8-dl3-mirror-upgrade-pnp-harness/

  14. I can't answer your question, but my guess would be no. I added power-fold mirrors to my 2022 Silverado 1500 using a kit from Boost Auto. Operation is a bit klunky, but they work fine with no hiccups https://boostautoparts.com/products/2014-2019-power-folding-sport-mirrors?year=2018&make=Chevy&model=Silverado 1500&options= Lou

  15. A lot happened last year. I retired from Delta in Atlanta after 37 years of service. Moved to mooseass Alabama so we could be closer to family. 3 miles actually...lol....grabbed a job at the end of July 24 as a regional manager for a facilities maintenance company that was contracted by the DOD, so I had 17 military sites I took care of. Hated that job and took another one being a dayshift supervisor at Hellas in Dadeville, AL. We make the plastic thread for a lot of football fields using astro turf. It's been quite a ride so far but I am loving not living in Atlanta anymore. 37 years in Atlanta was 36 too many...lol.....
