  1. I am currently experiencing an oil pressure issue on my 07 LH6 Sierra. I have 138,500 miles on the motor and on cold starts 8 hours or so or on very cold days the gauge takes a second or 2 to pressurize up to about 50 psi. Once I begin driving it while it's cold or idling to warm up, the pressure will drop to 15-20psi at stop lights but is at 50psi driving, 2 or 3 times the lifters have made noise because of it, but don't make noise while the pressure is maintained. I make sure to keep it above 20psi at stop lights and such just so nothing terrible occurs. After the motor is at operating temp 210*, the pressure maintains 40psi at idle and 60psi while driving and is as quiet as a church mouse. I've run Mobil 1 5w30 since 60k when I bought it except for 2 or 3 times it had Dino in it. The pressure sensor was replaced last winter with a Napa one and is functioning properly according to a tech 2 scanner. I spoke to the mechanic who maintains the ambulances for the dept I'm in and he said he believes the motor is shot and should trade it in. I don't want to believe that, any insight? Is it a dead motor? Is it the o ring on the pick up tube sucking air until the metals warm and seal properly? I'd like to keep this truck a few more years since it's paid off.
  2. Took out the Range module and finally got through the emissions portion of the NYS Inspection.
  3. The last time I have any type of code was for the dead oil pressure sensor in the winter, I put the Range mod back in right after so I dont know whats going on. The line coming off the filler neck is broken so Im trying to track where that goes and theres no code from that and never has been. The only fault I get once in a while is the Service Traction Control/Stabilitrack which goes off after I drive it and restart it.
  4. Changed the serpentine and ac belts, also failed NYS Inspection for "emissions system not ready".
  5. Great work, I have been following this thread but I missed why the motor was taken out and or rebuilt/replaced.
  6. I really like the Stars and Stripes bowtie.
  7. Oh come on, my 07 must be the only one on earth that's not e85 compatible and gas here is $3.61/gallon.
  8. Rolled 114k today, last week I did a wash, clay, Meg's 82 swirl free polish and Meg's tech wax since I was out if colonite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I changed my oil and have decided next time I'll be bringing it and the Mobil 1 to my friends shop and have them do it for $10. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What moved faster the tach or the gas guage?
  11. Currently at 107250 and down 1/2 qt. the range seems to slow the consumption a bit but not eliminate it. I do not have any AFM rattle which is a plus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I just added the Range module Wednesday. I am at 1000 miles on my current oil change which I found is when the consumption begins. I will let you all know what I find. I am currently at 106,500 miles.
  13. Plugged in my new to me Range V8 module - Happy Times
  14. Friday - 4 ball joints and stabilizer bar links Monday - 6 qts of Mobil 1 High Mileage (105k)
  15. Who pays for a car wash? Lol - oh I fixed a broken ground wire.
  16. Drove it 1,049 miles to and from Virginia(30 min south of Richmond) wed-today. I avg'd 19.7 mpg and 1.25 qts of Mobil 1 lol.
  17. Monday was AC Delco plugs and wires along with Mobil 1 differential fluid, today was the front differential with Mobil 1 as well. I believe I'm at 96,500 on the clock. I'm going to try to talk my mechanic into turning off the AFM as well.
  18. Filled the tie rods with grease, oiled the door jambs, and 6 qts of Mobil 1. Im still waiting to do my differentials but im a nancy boy and afraid of screwing it up. Happy times.
  19. How many high mileage AFM 5.3s are out there, I like my truck alot and I would like to try and make it to 200k if possible Im currently at 91,500. The engine is smooth, I plan on doing plugs, wires, serp belt, I did tranny, transfer case and coolant at 75k. I have all the fluid for the front and rear diffs but they make me a touch nervous with not seating correctly, would you use the blue silicone gasket in a tube or get a stock gasket at the dealer for that?
  20. Im going to get it come spring time.
