  1. I've seen e10 87 with almost 25% alcohol...it is possible. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  2. I only ask because flex fuel and/or higher alcohol contents can hinder cold weather starting. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  3. What temperatures? You aren't getting flex fuel by chance are you? Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  4. Upgrading the alternator wire can improve performance, but it think that 175a fuse is probably more restrictive than the wire from the alternator. I upgraded the wire on my last Dodge Cummins (160A alt), it was impressive the difference. The alternator could "catch up" much faster, voltage would come back to normal after a hard draw in 1/3 less time. That was the only place I didn't use regular automotive wiring, I used high strand count stereo power wire for that five foot run. I rarely use the winch on this truck and have two batteries, so I've never bothered to upgrade this Silverado. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  5. I would run the setup you have now, see if that improves your problems. If not, then start looking at upgrading the alternator wiring. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  6. My cables were made by Deka at their factory outlet...my second battery is a Deka factory second even! It and the OE battery are still going strong after five years! Probably should replace them next summer... Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  7. I had my cables custom made, used a piece of garden hose to approximate the length since it bends similar to heavy cable. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  8. Pos/pos, neg/neg with #00 wire is how mine is setup. No fuse between the batteries. That 175a fuse is normal in the GM system, that is the standard fuse and works with any charging system they install. I would not alter that... Plow "package" is a little more...skid plates, different torsion bars, beacon wiring, alternator...just to name a few. But most of it can be had separately or in other packages. Steve 2012 2500hd 6.0l
  9. The main issue with plowing (and winching) is the alternator isn't spun fast enough for long enough to put out the maximum amperage. Adding a second battery provides the added capacity between plowing (and winching) events so the alternator can catch back up. Steve 2012 2500hd
  10. There is a lot of paint on/between those leaves, and that will likely press out under load...they are probably the correct torque when first done, then the spring pack gets "worn in" from being under pressure. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  11. Bear hunting...that's our stand (old in background, sitting in the new one) and shooting range back about 1/4 mile off highway. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  12. There isn't a bleeder... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  13. Service writer talking BS to make you go away...that's all that was. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  14. They seem to be a big seller at my local tire store...saw five pickups come in, and four left with the Falkens. My truck was the only one that left with Coopers. They run about 3/4 the cost of other tires. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  15. The roads around here start as dirt, and are tarred and chipped. While not ideal, it makes a smooth and durable surface. Build that up over a few years and it's as durable as asphalt. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  16. They tar and chip dirt roads around here all the time, they hold up fairly well considering the freeze/thaw and traffic they see. The main thing that is needed is a very good (solid) base that won't turn to mush during a freeze/thaw cycle. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  17. I've towed there with mine, just as heavy. Most I did was drop a gear or two? I even have 3.73 rears...interstate driving is easy, just sucks fuel like a criminal. I live just north of Reading, drag a camper and/or a trailer up and down i78, i81, rt322, and i80 probably once a month. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  18. The only number that matters is the the load capacity in pounds...load range is just that, a range, change tire size within a load range and the load capacity (in pounds) changes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  19. The rear axle is different between a 2500hd and 3500srw...in a 6.0l truck anyway. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  20. I would think 24 ft-lb on a cover bolt would warp the cover...or cause the seal to leak. I only go a little beyond snug with a 1/4" ratchet... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  21. Ft-lb or in-lb? Seems high for a drain plug... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  22. Almost all of us fall into the severe category one way or another... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  23. No accounting for wear because the box was out of adjustment? Seems poor judgement. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  24. You have to remove the nut to apply locktight, no? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  25. Getting the lash right is a trial and error deal...we had to do this with the older Dodge trucks. Too loose, you have steering wheel play; too tight and it will have a tight spot and/or not return to center. We found the best way was either box off the truck or to at least have the front end in the air so the steering components have very little load on them...
