  1. Thank you so much for that! I didn’t realize it was held with screws in the bottom, but that makes sense. Here I’m sitting here thinking it’s a snapfit and it’s not. Really really appreciate it!
  2. I nicked the rubberized finish on my Center Console Tray Trim 84164813. I need to replace it. I have the new part but I have no idea how to separate the trim from the rest of the center console door. I tried a screw driver under the trim piece to pry it up (gently) and then forcibly. Then I was able to get my entire fingers under the side of the trim and pull up, which that didn't pop it off either. Do I just need to pull harder? Quicker? Is there a trick to the disassembly here? Any help is appreciated.
  3. Did you happen to take any photos? My leak is so minor that I’m not in anyway excited about taking that headliner down again. I cut my fingers on the fiberglass edge and pulled the one of the clips off during the first round. Luckily I had a hot glue gun lying around when that happened and a little luck to eyeball assemble it back in the perfect spot. Ugh.
  4. The good thing is that water is no longer leaking down my rear window after the at-home service bulletin fix. The bad part is that I have a new dark line in my headliner around the same place where a small amount of water is still coming through at times. Since its only a small amount of water, I guess I'm just going to let it happen and clean the water line on the head liner every year or so, hoping the leak doesn't get any worse.
  5. I will definitely write it up and send it to you along with my windshield fogging (Defrost vent leak) issue that the dealer can't seem to fix. Thank you for responding to my issue.
  6. I'll join in here. My 2019 RST has about 44k miles on it and I have experienced the brake squealing noise for as long as I can remember. It seems to come from the rear passenger side, and a loud squeal when slowing down at slow speeds and when coming to a stop (backing up or going forward). I thankfully don't have the squeal while driving problem that some note here. Anyway, I too went to the dealer and complained all through my warranty. They gave me the same lines..."its the new brake pad material", "we didn't hear anything" "we couldn't replicate it," and that "all brakes squeal at some point in time. Complete lies and BS, the same response I get when I complain about other things too. I complained until my 36k warranty went out and well, I guess its now my problem. If a new set a pads will fix it, I will put on the new pads...just let me know which ones. I'll check out the Power Stop. I assume I don't have to turn the rotors, just expand the calipers and put on new pads...even at 44k?
  7. I disagree. When the window frame cracks completely, the cracks extends all the way into the cab. With the headliner in place as stock, if I press upward firmly on the headliner just above the left or right headrest, I can actually see that the headliner covers the cracked frame. When the headliner is in its stock position, the water will leak through the crack and onto the headliner from behind the headliner.
  8. Well, I did do the fix. I used the Barrier Bond gap sealant I linked previously since I couldn't readily find the other sealant. I thought it was better than regular silicone. I do wish it flowed a bit better but hopefully since I just had a very small leak after 4 years, that this will fix the issue for awhile. A big SAFETY WARNING to anyone that attempts this: When you are removing the headliner, make sure to use cut proof gloves when sliding your hands around the back of the cab to pull down on the brackets. The headliner is fiberglass under the cloth and I cut several fingers pretty bad. Either take your time working your fingers in between the cab and headliner but best to where cut proof gloves. Another tip I will give is to have a hot glue gun on hand just in case the rear headliner brackets gets torn from the headliner. One of them was slightly separated on the corner and the other bracket was completely torn off. A hot glue gun put it back quickly.
  9. After reading more, I'm not more confused than ever about if I want to try to fix this on my own. It sounds like not putting everything back together correctly can cause more leaks in different places. That, and I can't figure out what what gap filler adhesive I want to use and it sounds like it might not even be a permanent fix. No time to take it to the dealer either right now. I was thinking this might work well and is available. I have white on order to be delivered tomorrow for a black truck (otherwise I couldn't do the project this weekend. I figure it wouldn't be seen in the trench. But after looking at the photo on page 229, maybe it would be seen if the bead was too large. This sucks.
  10. The link isn't showing up well. Was able to get a screenshot before it disappears. Reposting the link for others. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/255000-diy-sliding-window-leak-permanent-repair/
  11. Hmmm. Where is the DIY and that sealant?
  12. That is VERY disappointing to hear, but good to know going forward. I can see the crack and it corresponds to where the water is coming in...so hopefully....hopefully that will take care of it. Time will tell. Sorry you had to go back to a solid glass.
  13. Much appreciated! I can actually see the cracks on the inside looking up at the window channel from inside the truck....so I'm positive I have the same cracks on top under the spoiler. I plan to tackle this project tomorrow, fill the channel with sealant...and I'll report back.
  14. Yes. Why, did I miss something in the 230 pages that I need to know?
  15. I am unfortunately here with the rest of you with the same problem on my 2019 Silverado RST. I will be implementing the TSB fix myself since I'm at 41,000 miles. Apparently the leak has been there for quite some time and I didn't know. I called my local dealer, Payne Chevrolet in Springfield, TN and asked them if they had either of the required sealers in stock. They said no. I asked what was I supposed to do if I can't get them easily and you don't have them. He said, you would have to order them, and then hung up on me. Amazing customer service when every truck has the problem, GM won't take responsibility and they won't even help you with parts.
  16. I am going to try out the Vredestein Pinza AT's. 70k mile warranty, quiet all terrain tire with great reviews. We'll see what happens.
  17. Well that's definitely not a rave review for sure. Back to doing more research. It's amazing someone can't make an AT tire that performs similar to a highway tire in mpg and noise.
  18. Can you give us a quick update on these tires after you have have them for well over a year now? Was you fuel mileage compromised at all? Has the lack of road noise stayed the same or has it become worse?
  19. Absolutely agree. This is the first vehicle that I've ever had problems with. In my opinion the defrost should completely seal off. In fact, my engineering opinion is the same. I once worked as an mechanical design engineer for a Tier 2 Automotive HVAC supplier (we made the actuators). I messaged by former manager who has been and automotive engineer most of his career and he said that it was odd also, that the ideal design is to shut off the air completely. As posted above, apparently that's not how GM designs it now.. I shouldn't ever have to turn the temperature to where I'm uncomfortable as a work around to make the A/C work like it should and prevent a safety issue.
  20. Yes. It can be removed by windshield wipers.
  21. I’m having an issue with my 2019 Chevy Silverado RST. I’m hot natured so many times in the summer, I have the A/C cranked down to Lo (62F). There are times when I drive like this for 20-30 minutes or more, just depending. This summer I noticed that on my drive to work on a really hot humid morning, my windshield would start to fog up due to cold air coming out of my defrost. I’ve never had this happen before. Sure enough I could feel cold air coming out of the defrost vent even though my defrost wasn’t on. I tried to cycle the vent actuators and couldn’t fix the issue. The only thing I can do is to turn up the A/C temp which is unacceptable, but it’s all I know to do. I have since took the truck into the dealership and they noted that sometime around 2015-2017, all Silverado’s were designed to have a small amount of air coming out of the defrost. The service guy said he didn’t believe it either until he went from vehicle to vehicle on the lot and all of the newer vehicles were the same. I’m really puzzled on this one at why this would be something that would be designed in and me being an engineer, it doesn’t sound right to me. It’s honestly a HUGE SAFETY issue because my view is blocked when it shouldn’t be and I’m adjusting controls trying to get my view back, while driving. Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved? Or are there others that have the same situation as this?

  23. I have a brand new (extra) set of BDTrims 3D (Domed) Silverado decals for the 2019-2020 for sale if anyone wants it. Brand new in the factory packaging, unused. Regular price is $59.95 but I will take less. Shoot me a PM if interested. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XRY7P8Z/ref=twister_B07XWW7CTV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  24. Yeah, every time it seems like I know more about my vehicle than they do. It takes me to educate them. Anyway, my truck is ready to be picked up. They said the new software that fixes the antilock brake recall also fixes the parking brake issue. By the way, if anyone wants to know what the servo noise is when you open up the truck door, the service guy says its the fuel pump priming getting ready for the push button start.
  25. I went to pick up my truck at 5:30PM and, the service guy noted that he hadn't called me so that means they are keeping my truck. No call, no nothing to tell me that. I asked him how long are you keeping it? He said that it was a serious issue and it needed to be looked at. After asking if it would be into the weekend, he said no....so I don't know what the fix is or when I'm getting my truck back. Oil Change, tire rotation and brake recall fix is complete....just waiting on them to figure out the parking brake situation.
