  1. I came here for the same reminder. I appreciate the help; it's fixed. I updated my app and now it says I'm in Canada and I cannot change it to the US. Nice job Chevrolet!
  2. I'm sure it can be done. I need the space in the bed for other things.
  3. When towing a tall trailer on the interstate, I get 8-10mpg; for a stock range of ~184 miles max. I find this unacceptable, especially driving across the great plains at night. Looking for gas every 130 miles isn't a good feeling (or probably less, where is the next town with an all-night station that isn't 20 miles off the highway?) . I don't put many miles on my truck; but when I do, it is often the above scenario. Having double the range makes my travel less stressful: I buy gas when I need a break, not every gas station. It's not for everyone; but I love my 50 gallon tank!
  4. I had the impression the ECM recall was to put in a failsafe for when the 10-speed transmission goes?
  5. Things seem to be just fine. I'll post here if I have any problems. Mine failed the pico test at just over 40,000 miles.
  6. It only took the dealer and GM corporate three days to get me a loaner when my 6.2 failed the pico test. Don't plan on one immediately if you need one.
  7. Everything is exactly as it should be. Any less and it would need to be addressed.
  8. GM says 150,000 miles or 10 years from initial service date; whichever comes first. This means I have until 2/2032 - This would be on the bottom end of the new engine. Otherwise I just get the remainder of the regular factory drivetrain warranty (I have under 2 years left).
  9. Dealer called me this afternoon. Truck is done! Truck was in the dealer's hands for 18 days. I had a loaner for 15 of them. Engine replacement comes with a new radiator and single use fasteners/seals. A little over $9000 US in parts/labor, plus the cost of the loaner pushes the total to GM nearer $10,000. I'll report back if I have any issues, but it seems OK for now.
  10. It's been a busy week. After I talked with the dealership last Saturday about my failed 6.2, they didn't know what was next and suggested I call GM customer service (This even though it was failure #3 at this dealership- WTF?). GM service wanted to be helpful, but nobody anywhere seemed at liberty to say I was going to get something to drive. GM Service lady called me back within the hour and told me she was going to be with me the whole way through, gave me a case # and would follow up with dealership on what they still needed to submit, and call me 1st thing on Tuesday to check in (Monday off). I called dealership 2x on Monday and got a reply late in the day. I could have a SUV now or wait until Tuesday for a Silverado. GM Service called me 1st thing Tuesday and continues to follow up with me. Tuesday night I picked up a near zero mile Silverado RST. It's OK, but has the little V8 (gutless), is a short box, and is not up to the trim level of the truck it's replacing. It's OK; but I'll be happy when I get my regular truck back. I was asked to keep it under 50 miles/day average (no problem for me this month). I hauled my dirt bike to the woods on Saturday and can't close the gate. I will post updates as things unfold. TLDR: They gave me a long-term loaner Silverado. It's not anywhere near as nice or functional as mine, but it's something. It took three days to get there.
  11. Dealer called and the truck failed. He didn't know anything about something to drive for the 1+ months vehicle is not available to me. I called GM customer service and someone will be calling in 1-2 business days with an update. Wish me luck. This isn't OK.
  12. My '22 is at the dealer today for the test and oil change. He's had 2 failures so far. He's tested a bunch so a low fail rate. I'll ask more questions when (if?) I pick it up later today. This is in the upper midwest.
  13. Selling/trading the truck doesn't reduce GM's liability - they are on the hook for the duration of the added warranty, regardless of who owns the truck; it's just transferring the issue from the current owner to someone else. I believe that GM is on record as saying the engine warranty is 150,000 miles for the affected issue. If the oil change works for just 1% of the affected engines, it's probably worth GM's energy to make the change.
  14. Got my letter yesterday as well. I agree it makes little sense to wait on the inspection and oil change because of the writing on the fill cap. Why not do everything else to prevent engine lock up (and potential injury/death/insert NHTSA language here) and let me know when you got a cap available? They could even put a few stickers under the hood to help us remember we need 0-40 oil. I also received a letter from a law firm looking for my information for a class action lawsuit. The only folks making money on all of this are the lawyers.
  15. Latest fill was with 725 miles on the tank at 15.8 mpg indicated. Took 45.4 gallons (US) and range indicated at 40 miles (~80 actual). Zero issues.
