  1. So without the cap how long did they run before they shut off? Could you turn them off and back on again and they would work? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  2. I guess we'll find out soon enough Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  3. It's on their site... http://www.gen5diy.com/GMC/Sierra/20162017-GMC-HD20162017-GMC-12-Ton-LED-headlamp-harness/ I know it says it's for the new HD's but they still have the same lights at the 14/15 1/2 tons. I questioned him for about 30 minutes on it. He swears it'll work and if it doesn't I can return it. I'm gonna order a set today. They are basically the same as above but with no capacitor. He said he's tested with and without the capacitor and it makes no difference... The harness looks like this one but it has the resistor for the LED turn signal.... http://www.gen5diy.com/GMC/Sierra/2016-GMC-HD2016-GMC-12-Ton-HID-headlamp-harness/ Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  4. BTW. Gen5 has a small harness similar to what they built up above. I just spoke with Offer there yesterday about it... Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  5. Ok I will hopefully have a set of lights bought tonight. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  6. Gen5 is actually about $1650 for the whole setup if you call them. They just don't have any lights in stock though... Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  7. Yea that whole side was clearly designed by someone who will never work on the vehicle Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  8. Did you use the GEN5 harness or the one posted above? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  9. I find a new set that's reasonable. I'm planning in keeping the 2014 set I think. Put them back in the truck and sell the LED's when I sell the truck... How much would you want for a pair of adaptors like that? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  10. do you happen to have instructions and a parts list for this? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  11. Yea I have a 14 with HID's and they are terrible. My RIGID LED fog light pods greatly over power them. So in your opinion it's worth the upgrade? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  12. Any pics by any chance? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  13. any chance you could show both? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  14. Easy fix! Can you snap a few pics showing high beam vs low beam? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  15. Auto Zone and Advance both read ecm trouble codes for free Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  16. If anyone sees a set for sale I'm interested as well Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  17. Put it on a charge card or PayPal and if they don't work and the seller plays games you can file a claim Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  18. Someone else may have a better answer since I'm still looking as well. However, it's a sealed unit so the LED board and everything else should be included. The LED's aren't like a typical bulb because the service life on then is lie 25000 hours and probably will never need to be replaced... Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. It's my understanding that everything works. The only "issue" is that the DRL don't turn off when you activate the turn signals the way they do on the 2016's. Basically the white DRL and the amber turn signal are on at the same time. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. The LED's are on with the parking lights even in the 14/15 SLT's Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  21. is that just low beams or low beams and fog lights? Also, would it be possible to see a night picture comparing the low beams and high beams against the wall? Also, anyone that had HID's in the stock housings that have gone to this setup. How do they compare? The headlights are literally the thing I hate the most about my 2014... Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  22. Are the harnesses to make the 2016 lights work with a 2014 SLT available? If so I'm interested in purchasing the harness. Also, will the harness work with the LED headlights our only the HID ones? Also, has any progress been made in getting the DRL to go out when the turn signal is on? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  23. I have a DDM Tuning kit in my truck. Just their back kit should work fine. However, I would highly recommend the auxiliary wiring harness. HID's draw more power at startup and can cause problems with the factory wiring. I've been installing HID kits this way for 10 years and never had a problem. For $10 it's it's worth it not to fry your factory wiring and honestly it's the right way to do it... Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  24. Just recently found this for anyone looking to do a projector retrofit... http://www.fastheadlights.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=fxr_retrofit-kit Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk What state are you in? Personally I'd just go to another garage. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  25. I literally just asked them about this 2 weeks ago and they said it was "normal" I'll be taking it in to talk to them again.
