  1. Curious if anyone has experienced or corrected this issue? I have tightened Strut Mounts, checked wheel bearings, lift kit parts and any other bolt I can get a wrench on. It is audible and can feel it through the floor board at low speeds, at high speeds it can only be felt. I do have a suspension lift so not sure if it is related or not. At this point I feel like it is the strut itself?? Only occurs when going over small bumps, large bumps I don't notice it. 5mph on a gravel road will drive you nuts.
  2. ^^This^^. Find out what your factory tires were designed to carry at the recommended PSI and look at the inflation table for the new tires. Only "Right" way to do it. If BF Goodrich doesn't offer this you can get close by taking: Original load rating \ recommended PSI = lbs per PSI for factory tire. New tire load rating\ lbs per PSI for factory tire = PSI for new tire Don't know what your truck came with this is an example: 2250 / 32 = 70 lbs per PSI 3250 / 70 = 46 psi Will not be exact but will get you close, then it is time for chalk.
  3. Higher octane definitely does benefit both engines. As far as the actual difference in .5:1 compression ratio, I really don't have a clue what that calculates out to compression wise. I just know that if the 5.3l benefits from it the 6.2 will benefit more due to the higher compression. The 6.2 could be set up completely different timing wise though so not sure. I know the 5.3l timing is very aggressive from factory. That is why I would be curious to see a log someone has done running 87
  4. No issues with mine. Possibly a wheel speed sensor going out??
  5. That is because you are retarding the timing on 87 due to engine knock. You should be running atleast 91 with that engine. I have the 5.3l with lower compression and load due to the gears and the amount of KR is scarry on 87. I run premium and they recommend 87 on mine. They recommend premium for your engine; I would be scarred to death to run 87 in a 6.2 all the time. If the knock sensors fail pretty sure that motor would toast. I would love to see a log on one of you guys trucks with the 6.2 running 87.
  6. It is a Diamondback SE. See post above. Dang phone threw me off.
  7. It is a Diamondback SE. Excellent quality. Pretty much water tight. After running through a good rain I will have a little water in the bed by the corners of the tailgate but pretty sure it is from the tailgate. Doesn't bother me so I haven't tried to stop it. http://www.diamondbackcovers.com/se/
  8. It is the tires causing the vibe. I had it also after I swapped to the AT2 tires. If they are balanced right it will go away. I am running the 295/65 20's. All is great after they are balanced correctly. Make sure they balance them at the pressure you run them. One of mine could just about tote the whole truck and the tire shop felt they needed to be run at 65 psi when they balanced them. I run mine at 40.
  9. I can ask my dad, he did my sisters toyota installing a security system, ha! Only takes ohming out the wrong 2 wires and she is dead. These things are finicky now.
  10. I may have missed it but has anyone tried using the other key when this happens? Could just be the transmitter in the key going bad. The door lock issue may or not be related, no clue there. Mine has failed to unlock the doors once also but hasn't happened again.
  11. You don't "have" to if you don't plan on doing any offroading, would be fine for street use. You just won't get full droop with the factory shocks without extending them, and if you do offroad it you will probably crap out the shocks pretty quick. On my 13 i just went ahead and bought a set of bilsteen 5100's when I did the rear lift. A 3" block is only 1 3/4" taller than factory so the 5100's work perfect and are a good upgrade from factory anyhow.
  12. 2014Mallcrawler did. Read about 3 pages back in this thread.
  13. Yes, that and the rear of the fender well liners.
  14. You should be able to get by only trimming plastic with that setup but not 100% sure
  15. The one on the bottom is running a 4" lift and 9", 0 offset wheels. Took a good bit of trimming to make them fit. I saw the cutting he had to do first hand. The 275 should be close to an inch narrower so should have a better chance however I think you could have issues even with those tires with the wheel offset you are looking at. If cutting doesn't bother you by all means go 295s
  16. Beautiful truck. That Blue with the chrome just looks like it was made for each other.
  17. If they are 9" wheels they should be good.
  18. I think he is saying your speedo is off but not sure? Mine doesn't get that going down hill at 75 so I have no dog in this hunt.
  19. My last trip; mods in sig. Included 48 miles of city driving in Houston; the rest was highway. I have spent more time running E85 and the best I can get on bassicly the same trip is 13.2. My numbers on the DIC come out about 3% less than hand calculated on average so they are pretty close. This is better than any of my last 3 trucks that were only leveled with 33 and 34" tires by atleast 1 mpg. The closest was a 2012 Duramax the worst was a 2010 Tundra, Tundra got just a tad over 11. Overall I am very happy.

Fine looking ride. I miss my 13 that was that color, especially when she was clean.
  21. Nope, you are spot on! I would run from that kit.
  22. I personally did not. I am sure they saw it and let it go so I figured why bother; not sure how the couldn't have. WOT they are good, it is just under light throttle and cruising situations. The sensors do what they are supposed to so it is "safe" but it is greatly reduced with higher octane fuel. I think they made the timing so aggressive in these areas to pull all they could from the motor MPG and power wise.
  23. Can't copy links on the phone but look up 5.3l KR while data logging. It is in the engine section
  24. Most if not all of the 5.3l engines will have detonation on 87 octane fuel. There is some on mine running premium fuel and even see it on e-85 ocassionally. If you have some way to monitor this on your truck you should check it out.
