I just started a new post but had already read this. I am in the same boat as you. I want a hidden winch that is simple like the ford. The concern I have is that by putting a winch there you will be blocking the intercooler or small radiator down there.
-
I would like to see what you have done for a hidden winch mount on your 2020-2023 GMC 2500. I don't care for the Chassis Unlimited option because I want to retain the factory tow hooks and I don't want an LED light bar. Has anyone fabricated their own? I have also looked at the warn transformer system but of course that is not hidden. I really don't want to put on a full aftermarket bumper. I would like to see pics of what you did. Thank you in advance.

Have a 2021 HD GMC on order. I want to put on some BFG KO2 immediately. 285/65/R20 I plan to keep the stock wheels and tires together in the case of warranty work etc. I have a second set of stock wheels the BFGs will go on. Anyone have pics of these on stock 20" GM Wheels? Curious if they rub etc. Thanks in advance. Wouldn't mind seeing the 295/65R20 as well.

You guys think 2022 model 6.6 GAS will get the 10A?
OmahaBen replied to f8l vnm's topic in 2020-2026 Silverado HD & Sierra HD
I believe GM uses the 6 speed because it has a long track record of being reliable for fleet customers. Fleet customers buy gas engines and even thought the 6.6 is new the LS design is just as reliable. GM used the 6.0 gas engine in the 2500 from 1999-2019. It is doubtful you will see a 10 speed until a body style update happens again. 2025 maybe??? -
I have test driven several new HD trucks and had a loaner 2019 1500 for a week. Why do I need the Driver Alert 1 and 2? My current truck has none of these and truly I don't need them. Explain your experiences and why you like them or how they were helpful to you. I see them as failure points causing costly repairs in the future. Thank you

Two main questions Would you consider a 3500 over the 2500? Would you consider daily driving the 8ft bed over the following configuration? : 2021 GMC 2500 CrewCab Duramax Regular Bed 4x4. It is roughly $1000 more to get the 3500. $200 for only the long Bed. I can see I will lose some ride quality with the 3500. The 8ft bed will be a bit more tricky to maneuver in Omaha. I know I will use the 8ft bed on a regular basis. Thoughts and Experiences?

2020 gmc hd Sle/Slt Denali = 4000 off AT4 = 2000 off the 2021 GMC HD configurator just went live late this week. Here is what it is showing: 2021 gmc hd Sle/Slt Denali = 3000 off AT4 = 1500 off. Not saying that is guaranteed but is better than nothing. We are in unprecedented times so I don’t think anything will be normal and I agree rebates generally don’t get extended to brand new.

I was wanting to buy a 2020 HD SLT but pretty much everything is gone from everywhere and the units left are sky high $$$. Does anyone know when things will get rolling again? I thought 2021s were supposed to show up now. I am thinking of ordering because it may be difficult to secure one you want without doing so. Side note, does anyone know if the rebates are going to roll over to the 2021s? Thank you

Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
I had the battery die on mine last Friday and it was covered under warranty. I have a noise in the front that sounds like a "growl" according to the service advisor. The loaner 2016 CC 1500 has 100 miles on it and it has the exact same vibration as mine did before they replaced the ring and pinion. I was thinking of trading to a 2017 with the 8 speed and the 6.2 but not if they too have the vibration. I had a coworker drive it and he didn't notice the vibration until I pointed out where to feel it in the steering wheel. Now this is different than the shake. My cousin has a 2015 chevy crew cab and it has the chevy shake as some are calling it. It is different than the vibe in my GMC. This is so sad. -
HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit
OmahaBen replied to MotoMedic's topic in Modifications & Accessories
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oF06C-zEKfo"frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I just bought and installed this kit on my 2014 Sierra. The stock headlights are down right awful. These lights make it so I can actually see now! Super easy install. You drill a hole 1-1/8" hole in the headlamp cover. Mount the ballasts and connect to the battery and ground. took me about 1.5 hours. I drove with them last night. What a difference. enlight automotive sierra headlamp hid- 3,363 replies

Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
Glad to hear yours is fixed as well. Mine was fixed with the ring and pinion and new tires all the way around at 25000 miles. I just turned over 40,500 yesterday. -
Same thing here.

Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
I haven't been on here for several months and wanted to check in. I am really disappointed seeing that the vibration issue still has not been addressed by GM. I am very thankful that they were able to fix mine to the point where I don't notice it anymore. (I don't think it is totally gone it is 98-99% fixed) I have had a whole list of other issues, such as drivers seat frame fixed and replaced, radiator replaced, oilpan gasket, rear shocks, front diff rebuilt, rear diff rebuilt and almost two full sets of new tires and one 20" polished wheel. Three other issues I have noticed. The infotainment system locks up and have had it bounce between two screens. After I reboot ie restart the truck it works again. I have also had the anti theft screen come up and has not allowed me to start the truck about 6 times. The last issue is that I swear I smell coolant in the cab sometimes. They already replaced the radiator, my bet the heater core is cracked or something. They got the vibration fixed at 25,000 miles and replaced all 4 tires at that point. I also got an extended full warranty until 70,000 miles. The truck has 36,xxx miles on it and would not buy another 1/2 ton GM until this fix this issue. What a pain in the butt. I wouldn't know where to turn. I have always been a GM guy. Part of me wished I would have done a HD2500 or F250 with the Diesel at this point. However I would have spent another $7500. If I keep having issues there is no way I am keeping this past 70,000 miles. I am not paying for this out of pocket for repairs such as infotainment and such. -
Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
My thought was the torque convertor or inside the transmission. But it could be any rotating part inside the engine or transmission. -
Shake or Vibration Issues

I was also hoping the issue had been found. My 2014 Sierra has 31000 miles on it. At 25000 they rebuild the rear end put 4 new tires on a replaced the rear shocks. I can hardly notice any vibration but sometimes I swear I can feel it. I would call mine 99% fixed. However I believe there is one more missing piece to this puzzle. I keep checking in to see if it has been found. I would probably not buy another 1500 GM until this issue is found. I will either go 2500 or go with another brand Or thoroughly demo a new truck and make sure there is no shake. All the loaners I were given had it too to a varying degree. Good Luck guys. -
Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
They did several things. New Ring and Pinion, 4 New Tires and rear shocks. I still think there is another contributing issue but not sure what it would be. Thats why I call it 99% fixed. -
Shake or Vibration Issues
OmahaBen replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
I am about 5000 miles into my repair and I am satisfied it is 99% fixed. I still feel the vibration sometimes but wonder how much is picked up by the road being uneven. Also I did install a catback exhaust and that actually makes a small vibration of its own with engine RPM. With the catback system it completely covers up any driveline vibration left. I have almost forgotten I had a vibration now. It really angers me that I have been so loyal to GM and I see all these posts of customers unhappy. Not sure but I don't know if I will take the chance on another GM. -
As of 10/8/2015 my local dealer and GM engineering replaced both rear shocks. 4 Goodyear LS2 tires and rebuilt the rear differential with new ring and pinion and bearings. They ran the truck with the pico meter and it was within spec. I drove the truck and the vibration seemed to be gone. The thing I notice now is that on poorer quality roads the truck picks up a lot of road vibration. On the smooth, quality roads the truck drives smooth and great. Even while going up to 80mph. I can't call it 100% fixed because from time to time I swear I feel a vibration. I can't tell if it is the truck or the road 100%. So lets call it 98% fixed just to be safe. It certainly is fixed enough where it is not longer unpleasant to drive the truck. Hopefully this helps someone else. Good luck getting your vibration in your GM truck fixed!

Shake or Vibration Issues

OmahaBen, on 15 Oct 2015 - 9:51 PM, said: I would call my truck 98% fixed by the tires and rear differential rebuild. I have close to 1000 miles on the truck (since rearend rebuild and new tires) now and it has stayed the same. The only reason I can't say 100% is because after driving the truck with no noticable vibration it sure seems like my truck picks up a lot of "road feel". Uneven roads, rough roads, roads with lots of cracks or seams. I have never had a truck with 20" wheels before but I don't remember my old 2004 with 17" wheels picking up the road feel like this. When I am on a smooth road everything is fine. When I go down a road that is bad it feels like the vibration is back. I know I have become hypersensitive to the vibration so it is hard to separate the two. Road feel vs. vibration -
Post Pics of Your 2014+
OmahaBen replied to jomuehlbauer's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I love this picture and have seen this several times. I had a very similar truck to your older one. Mine was a 2004 metallic gray the same as yours. I found a black 2014 GMC now but would have rather had the iridium like you got.
