  1. If you can see the shock mounting bushings, they should be flat but not squished. Might be a loose nut on a shock. Compacting the bushing too much will cause a harsh ride, not enough will be a vibration.
  2. 15LTZZ71, I get what your saying about the accelerator also. The steering wheel and accelerator are not all that bad but it definitely is a harmonic resonance.. I have not seen any solutions anywhere. Something in the driveline would resonate thru the truck. I can't imagine GM does not know or is reluctant to fix these trucks.
  3. Thanks Silverado-Hareek, I guess it may be inherent to the truck.. I had a 2007 Jeep Wrangler that did not transmit this much thru the steering wheel. The harmonic is constant and feels like it could put your hand to sleep after several hours. Do these things have steering dampers/shocks?
  4. Do we have anyone here that feels slight vibrations in the steering wheel? It sure feels like a harmonic of some type. I can't imagine that I would get this much road feel from the steering.
  5. Are the differentials and transmission the same for a 5.3 and 4.3?
  6. I am starting to feel the vibration more under load (up hill) and on deceleration. I am having the tires RF balanced tonight but I am starting to suspect this is a powertrain issue. I can feel vibe in the seat of pants and in the steering wheel. It is not a strong vibration but does not feel like road inconsistency. Still reading and hoping that GM finds the Holy Grail soon.
  7. So the vibe is there. I feel it I. The steering wheel and butt. Is the differential vibe the one that gets felt in the steering wheel
  8. 15LTZZ71, running in M5 keeps the AFM from engaging? I drive 25 miles one way to work everyday mostly highway. I do not drive highway in M5 so it happens then.
  9. Hightong, I am getting the same shake in V4 with my 4.3. Low speed kicks into V4, try light acceleration and bam she vibrates, have to goose gas to get it out of V4. Even get it at highway speeds. Keep us updated.
  10. Hey check out the vibration analysis thread in this forum. GM Vibe analysis has found some gears teeth out of spec.
  11. Do we have build dates on vehicles that are good and bad?
  12. Miley great post. Dirty air behind a semi is almost unbearable
  13. Just on a related note, I was scheduling mine for the transfer case recall and an oil change last night. I overheard a service advisor on the phone talking to someone about a noise in the front end of their vehicle. The SA response was something to the effect of "how do you know that's the problem, because sometimes people read things on the internet and then they think they have a problem." I would not want to do what these folks do day in and day out. The dealership I was at is a Chevrolet dealer, I am guessing by the looks of it they aren't looking for more work due to the multitude of recall work GM has blessed them with.
  14. Sean, did you get it fixed
  15. I wonder if that can cause some vibration from aero. Probably not helping mpg wise.
  16. I just found my bed is not centered behind the cab. It is off 3/4". Flush on driver side and in 3/4" on passenger side. I can't believe that gets off the line.
  17. I find some slight vibes in the steering wheel, it seems like road feedback. I don't know. I had a 2007 Wrangler before that vibed so bad I had to get rid of it. This truck is not that bad but it seems like something is slightly out. How bad is the vibration we are experiencing? I saw some videos but could not tell from water bottles in the cup holders. Has anyone had an alignment double checked on these trucks? I also am suspect of the AFM. My problem is driving rural roads, AFM kicks in, I actually have a vibration if I soft pedal to maintain speed. It will vibrate up until I but it down to kick it back to V6. Anyone experience or know of this problem? I plan on having this reviewed first oil change. My build date is January 2014
