  1. Mind pinpointing the exact location for the fuse? Please enlighten me. So, is the port itself powered somehow by a separate circuit? Do you happen to know why it's done in such a way?
  2. It cannot be removed per se, but the limit can be increased by altering the calibration.
  3. In a nutshell, yes.
  4. I have been running blended 93 & E85 (E85 in lower amount) on my '16 which is not a FFV. I have noticed that the engine runs better than running on straight 93, but I'm unsure if it ran as well as my '15 which was a FFV. I checked the undercarriage and there was no sensor for ethanol content; the electrical connector just sat there disconnected.
  5. If it was for a Crew Sierra, the fuel filler door is flat on standard bed and bent on short bed.
  6. All those pictures, your truck is dropped only for 3" front and 5" rear?
  7. Cast iron arms have a black coating/paint. The aluminum arms are bare and silver-ish in appearance.
  8. Here is an easy way to do it. Take apart the light switch. In one corner of the housing half, there is a small spring. Take that spring out, it's the return spring for the rotary switch when it's turned counter clock wise to turn off DRL and auto headlight. Put everything back carefully, there are tiny parts everywhere and make sure the switch position retainer is positioned correctly. Pay attention to the tiny pin for the dimmer switch. Now when the switch is rotated CCW, it will not return to auto. The DRL and automatic headlight will stay turned off until the switch is turned clockwise.
  9. I had to ask. How would you and your passengers get into the truck? The floor must be at least 4' off the ground.
  10. Took out the stupid, plastic coil/valve cover covers. Now I feel a whole lot better.
  11. Well, not today, but two days ago I disconnected the "multi band" antennae for satellite radio and OnStar. Now I have the compass in calibrating mode, I suspect the disconnection of the GPS antenna was the culprit. Does anyone know which of the two is for the GPS? Both look the same. Also, I successfully DEFEATED the DRL and auto headlight for free. WOOOHOO! I can't take the credit since another member pointed it out to modify the headlight switch by removing a return spring. It was a half-delicate operation since there were small parts involved but it's not difficult.
  12. I've used Sams Club fuels for years without a problem. Currently I don't use it but not because of quality problems. IMO, "Top Tier" status should be taken with a grain of salt.
  13. The center pin is not supposed to go through the axle tube; if it went through, there would a whole lot of bigger problems.
  14. What does the carrier bearing bracket do? Does it relocate the carrier bearing position?
  15. That's only with 3/5 drop? That looks good!
  16. Holy shit? No, this is a good thing. I like larger engine oil capacity like that.
  17. Are those torsion bars hanging rather low trailing the front tires?
  18. I chalk up that kind of attitude to the fear of having to pay for the parts instead of covered by warranty. This is the same attitude, in a way worse, when I had to take in my Z06 for the same cracking problem. Service manager was very sure of impact damage yet there was no sign leading to it. I got GM Customer Service involved and at one point the service manager pissed me off on the phone and I slammed the phone on him. At the end, I took the Z06 to another dealership and after showing the cracking, I was assured they would be replaced; completely different attitude and mentality. I never looked back. The sad part is the first dealership is also a Callaway dealership.
  19. I can say this much, it's not heat. My Z06 has OEM HID, which generates very little to no heat, and the headlight lenses had crazing/cracking. Granted that it took a few years longer to appear than on your truck.
  20. The same thing happened to my Z06. Be ready to hear that it's "a damage caused by impact".
  21. Is it cracking on the lens itself or is there some kind of coating that cracks?
  22. Premium/high-octane gasoline has the same energy content as the regular/low-octane gasoline. E85 is a different story; it has much higher octane rating but less energy content. There is no correlation between the octane rating and the energy content. The high alcohol content shifts the fuel characteristics toward the alcohol.
  23. It varies depending on alcohol content, but usually over 100.
