  1. I have 275/55/20's now. What would be the same size in an 18 inch or just alittle bigger. Planning on changing to 18 inch wheels for a better ride. The front is raised 1.25 inches which leveled my truck because of weight carried in the rear. Thanks
  2. Iam looking at the Fox 2.5 Factory Series Coil-Overs Reservoir- DSC Adjuster # 883-06-121. Being able to fine tune the shock has to be a plus. $1894.95 not cheap.
  3. Yep I have read where some were not happy with the bilsteins because they were just as stiff or stiffer than the stock ranchos. I want to try the fox have not read anything on the icons but would try them if they would do the job. Which ever I try will talk with the company before I purchase to see if they can be returned if they don't deliver the ride I'am looking for. But I'am thinking your not going to change the ride to much on these trucks its sort of you got what you got but hope its possible . The highway ride is good to me its just off road I'am tired of the jarring and banging out in the front end. This is the only truck I have ever owned that does this.
  4. Think I'am going to try the fox 2.0 or 2.5 coil overs. I changed out the stock ranchos about 6,000 miles ago to the oem black shocks they don't jar quite as bad as the ranchos but still not the ride I'am looking for. I want to stop the banging of the front end on some potholes and other sharp drops. This is the only truck I have every had that does this. Going to talk with fox and see if I can send them back if their coil overs do not stop the banging out on the front. To much money to drop if they don't help the problem.
  5. Thanks for the info. When I get time I'am going to the dealership and get the parts man to check the part numbers of my coils and stabilizer against a regular 4x4 (non Z71) without any tow package. Just curious
  6. Hello Fire What makes a Z71 stiffer than the regular 4x4 is it just the rancho shocks or does the Z71 have stiffer front coil springs. I changed out my ranchos to the black regular 4x4 shocks and they helps soften the ride just a bit. Thanks
  7. I talked with Bilstein about 2 months ago and they said it would be the end of the year before the 6112 would be available. Just waiting here I think the softer spring is what its going to take to make these trucks ride better. I cuss my sierra every day just to stiff up front I have even changed out the stock ranchos to the stock black shocks they helped the jarring alittle and thats about it.
  8. The 6112's won't be available until the end of the year. I hope they will be the answer to a good ride since they will come with a softer spring.
  9. I tried fuel line and pcv line both had a suction sound had to go to hydraulic hose to stop the sound its quite now. Need to get flexible hydraulic hose it has a cloth like coating the rubber coat is very stiff will work just hard to work with.
  10. Mine is a Z-71 had the stock ranchos. The right rear rancho was leaking at 1000 miles replaced by gm. When I replaced them at about 4000 miles with the black shocks the left rear was leaking.
  11. That was me that put some new take off black stock shocks on. The ride is better took the jarring away that I was having. Only cost me $174.00 on ebay. I installed them myself and added 1/2 inch lift blocks under the front shocks which raised the front 1.25 inches and leveled my truck perfect. I carry weight in the back so it squats alittle.
  12. Hi BD I had the sucking sound on mine you could hear it when you got out of the cab. Everything was tight on my system. I finally found that it was coming from the hoses. You could look at the hose and see it was trying to suck it to it was out of round. The hose was pcv hose I tried a different brand did the same thing. I looked at trans oil cooler hose but was just as soft as the pcv hose. I went with hydraulic hose I knew it was no why it would suck to just alittle harder to work with. That stopped all my noise you can't hear it at all now. I always have trouble no one else does.
  13. Wonder how the service manger and gm assistance would feel if they had spent $50,000 on a new truck. Would they just set back and enjoy the vibrations.
  14. I had about a thimble full in mine after 200 miles
  15. My vibration was really bad between 72 and 80. This was from the beginning after a 1000 miles the tires (goodyear sra) were roadforced and the numbers were so high they replaced my tires with Michelins LT that I paid the differance between the two. When I test drove my truck it shook bad at about 45 an up the tire were flat spotted. After I drove it a few miles it smoothed out to a point of just a little vibration. Every since the new tires were put on its been smooth.
  16. I solved the suction sound I was getting with the can installed. I had removed my can a few weeks ago and decided to reinstall it yesterday with pcv fuel hose but still had the suction sound. After fooling around with it trying to see what was making the sound I noticed that the hose looked like it was alittle of round like it was trying to suck to more so on the outlet side. I could put my hand around a hose and the sound would change. So I got my ear down on the hose and you could tell the sound was coming from the hose. I replace the hose this morning with 3/8 hydraulic hose and all sounds are gone. The pcv hose was trying to suck to just enough to cause a restriction in air flow to cause the sound I think sort of like a vacuum cleaner hose when it gets sometimes hung up in the hose. The hose was not warm either I was afraid later when it heated up from the engine temp and this summer when its 95 it was only going to be softer. I looked at some trans hose but was just as soft or easy to squeeze with your fingers as the pcv hose that why I went with the hydraulic hose it will not suck to. If you use the hydraulic hose be careful and take your time installing it at the engine fittings just put some oil on the hose barbs and inside the hose to help it slide on don't want to brake a fitting off. Maybe no one else was having this problem with the restricted air sound but I knew something was not right with mine now its quite and makes me think its working as it should.
  17. My thinking on both points thanks
  18. Got a question about the o-ring. When I received my can the o-ring was at the base of the threads on the collection part of can. All the pics I see the o-ring is in the top of the can at the top of the threads of the base. At what position are ya'll running them. And as for the filter seems to me you would want to clean the air going back to the intake. But if you look in this can and how the outlet side is made with a shelf under the outlet side just not sure how that would work if you reversed the hoses with the dirty side air coming in with the shelf underneath it seems there needs to be a pipe that extends that side down into the can. Hope this makes since.
  19. I have looked all over the box and instructions and there is no contact info anywhere not even and address or where its made or where the box is made nothing. I found a number on the net but no answer left a message a month ago never got a call back. Makes you wounder. Found this: ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT DEPOT INC 3612 Arden Dr, El Monte, CA 91731 (626) 575-0360 116 East Live Oak AvenueArcadia, CA 91006 Phone: (626) 378-3109 Maybe one of us can get a hold of them
  20. Hate you had the luck you did. Mine was a vibrator too luckly tires fixed it. I traded from a toyota tundra best truck I have ever had only reason I went to gm was for fuel mileage the tundra sucked there.I believe I would have hit the gm rep in his fat mouth. Hope it all goes good for you.
  21. Nice job should keep it clean. What kind of 3/8 hose did you use. I see you used oem clip on ends did you cut them out of the old hoses or buy the ends.
  22. Had mine mounted the same place as yours
  23. 5.3L here all the connection were secure I checked all 6 conection points clean and dirty side (are secure and snaped in place) and felt around each one to see if it would make any differance in sound. I checked the can it self to make sure the inlet and outlet were clear and open. I loosened the dip stick in the can and pull up on it and it was very good suction there. My hose lenghts are 24 inches from the crackcase and 21 1/2 inches from the intake. I think the crankcase side is sucking to just enough to cause this and when it gets 90 degrees and its over 200 under the hood the hose is just going to be softer. If a go back with a can going to use trans oil cooler hose or hydraulic hose.
  24. I had some scotch brite pad in mine for filter took it out still had suction sound. I could hear the suction with the hood closed also.I used 3/8 fuel hose could be trying to suck together but couldn't find where it might be. Had the can mounted at the battery box and all hoses were hooked up correct.I also could hear a slight buzzing sound in the cab when starting off slowly.Took off hose put stock hose back on and all sound went away. I always have problems that no one else has oh well.
  25. Wacko can you hear a suction sound under the hood now after installing the catch can. Just wondering after my install mine did.
