  1. Thanks for the info I was pretty sure you were going to say the tundra rode better. I rode in a 15 tundra and thought the same thing you said no comparison. Even though the tundra does not have all the bells and whistle its proven. I think this why Toyota doesn't make big changes for atleast 10 years just stick with what works. Merry Christmas
  2. Hi Jeff, Congrats on the Tundra. How would you compare how it rides vs the chevy other than no vibration . What kind of mpg did you see on the 800 mile trip. Thanks
  3. Nothing wrong with that at all. They must have turned the fuel screw back just alittle. Thanks for the info
  4. Hey Bill, have you had time to see what kind of fuel mileage your getting. Just curious if they have found 1 or 2 more mpgs yet. At least fuel prices have dropped so not as big of deal.
  5. I was just wondering what material the kit spacers were made of, if they were made of plastic wouldn't stop vibration very well but if a polypropylene with some give I can see it helping to stop vibrations.
  6. The spacers in the kit look like a plastic material not sure just guessing.
  7. I wonder if rubber (Softer) body mounts the same height or thickness of the stock ones would do the trick since they would be softer than the stock mounts. Would the previous gen truck mounts work.
  8. Old Bill now goes down the highway at any speed he wants knowing that vibrations were just all a bad dream. How is it now in the smooth Tundra lane?
  9. Not bad at all on the mileage.
  10. If I had to replace mine today would be a Tundra. Just a good proven truck only dislike is the fuel mileage.I came from a Tundra and had no problems at all just liked the looks of the Sierra and the 10k off the sticker. Toyota is behind on style and options but they stick with a design that works and want change the Tundra until 2019. If its not broke no need to change it.
  11. What did you replace your truck with.
  12. Have you noticed if its worst with a full tank of gas vs 1/2 tank. Mine vibrates between 76 and 82 with 81 to 82 the worst but with about a 1/2 tank of gas its very little vib and I carry about 300lbs all the time.
  13. This is a quote from the original poster. Posted 05 August 2013 - 04:49 PM So I got it back from the dealer today and was told they test drove one from the lot and it had the same vibration and possibly even worse then mine. I was told GM admits there is a problem but at this time no solution. I was told to wait until there's a solution or the problem progresses. Over 2 years now and still throwing parts at them. I went back and looked through the first 10 pages and GM customer service was all over it. They have been a no show for some time now. I think they know the problem but will cost them to much to fix it.
  14. Also blows hot air out under the seat.
  15. I have noticed that with a full tank of gas I have a vibration that starts at about 77mph and is worst at about 82. On the same smooth road with a 1/2 tank of gas no vibration. I carry about 250 lbs of tools all the time. The vibration feels like its coming from the rear. I have Michelin m/s2 P275/55/20 that were put on at about 1050 miles because of the flat spotted goodyears. I have 9200 miles on it now. I don't drive much over 65 because of were I live so I don't every feel any vibration. Went a 300 mile around trip a few weeks back and the speed limit was 70 so I hit 80 a good bit and the vibs were there. So did some testing this week and found the vib with full tank vs no vib at half tank same road. Anyone else notice this.
  16. Mine blows hot air out the back of the seat. I checked my daughters 14 4Runner and its does not blow hot air out anywhere. Only pulls air from under the seat and they do get cold.

  18. A few days ago when I got upto about 76mph the vib started and got worst at about 82 on a new smooth paved road about 70 miles from where I live. Was going today to have the tires balanced and decided to do some testing before I went. Got on a smooth got upto 70 and on upto 90 and no vibs. I tried it many times could not get it to vibrate. The outside temp today is 60 was 78 when it had the vib. Who knows I still wonder why the crew cabs don't have a swing bearing on the drive shaft I know ford and toyota have one. Michelin LTX M/S 2 275/55/20
  19. Agree 100% with everything you said. I had a toyota before the the gm 0 problems ford before that this is the first gm truck i have owned since 1995. I like the truck alot the ride could be alittle better off road. Had to have the tires (275/55/20 chrome rim) replaced with (michelin ltx m/s2) at 1000 miles they were flat spotted from the beginning. I have a vibration between 75 and 85 worst at about 82. I only get up to about 63 to 65 on my daily drive so the vib is no problem. Few days ago went on a 300 mile round trip where the speed limit was 70 so I hit 75 + alot and on smooth new pavement the vibration was bad. I'am going to get the wheels balanced and see if it helps. When I had the tires replaced the right front wheel had a line of inside weights about 5 inches long from the factory when they balanced them it still took alot so they put that wheel on the right back. I told them that wheel needs to be replaced but there ears were stopped up. Once I get them balanced going to mark the rear tires at the valve stems to make sure they are not turning on the rim. If I had to drive it everyday at 75 plus and the vib could not be fixed I would go back to toyota or ford as much as I like the gmc.
  20. Only difference in the Z71 is rancho shocks over the stock black shocks a skid plate under the transfer case and Z71 badge. The frame on these trucks are stiffer than the 900s and the body mounts are no longer rubber. They just dont ride and well as the older trucks.
  21. Looks good. Is the ride better over the 275/55/20. The goodyear 275/55/20 that came on my truck were flat spotted when i bought it. I drove it for 1000 miles but it never went away . The dealer replaced them with Michelin m/s 2 that I requested. The goodyears road better than the michelin because of the higher tread wear number or just a harder rubber just feels like you feel every little thing on the road. Are you getting any tire rub on the fender liners. Thanks
