In the end if the truck works I'm ok with crappier gas mileage. We don't tow, but the truck is our daily driver for work and we put on 19,000 miles in about 7 months. So we drive a lot to say the least. I would trade the FE for a problem free truck and more cabin space without thinking twice. Plus I like the looks of the tundra almost as much as the Chevys so I won't feel like I'm losing out I guess. We'll see what they say on Monday! I hope we can come to an agreement though :/

That's not long at all. They do exist in a non vibrating version! Our Chevy dealer really hasn't gotten a lot back with the issue we have. If you really love the truck (which I love mine minus the problems) I would try to get them to do something with the tires to make sure. If they have goodyears a lot of people say they are crappy tires and they've gotten the problem fixed by putting better ones. Maybe you can negotiate putting better tires on it before you buy it? Edit: when the engineers ordered tires for my truck they ordered 4 to make sure they got the 2 perfect ones they needed. Says a lot about how tires are manufactured these days :/
-
Yeah :/ on a side note, we got up to 92 briefly passing today and the shaking subsided, maybe we just need to drive that fast ? at least we know the tires are perfectly balanced because if they weren't the truck would have gone nuts!!!!! Seems that GM has a lot of problems they can't fix :/ We'll be looking into Toyota if we can find a Silverado or Sierra that works for us. Drove one last week and it drives great IMHO. Plus the double cab space is HUGE compared to Chevy. I could put that to good use! Haha!
-
Sorry my bad, but I do think a lot of the problems aren't tire related. The one he drove could have flat spots from sitting on the lot for sure.
-
But you have different issues than me! Maybe that's something! Haha! We had 14 Ram and didn't like the handling, and apparently the Fords are starting to come up with vibration issues too apparently. They all have their flaws, it's finding the lesser of the evils!
-
If you read just a few pages back you'll see I just got my truck back from being with the GM engineers who road forced all tires, found two bad ones and ordered 4 to find 2 good ones. Truck still shakes like mad. It's not that, at least not for me. It's the chassis, the rear or axel. Something is not right on my vehicle and it's not the tires.

Our vibrations are pretty constant when you keep a constant speed. It's a Double Cab. Thanks, tried to document things right in case I need it! Hopefully it can help others! I'm thinking it's an assembly issue somewhere because our steering stop was not lubed from factory, the differential and shaft were both built/assembled off spec and now there seems to be an issue with the leafs. We're seriously question what or who was doing what when our truck was being put together!!! I don't know. It could be anything at this point!
-
And all that is what worries us. It's exactly that. The ONLY thing that I'm thinking is that it's one assembly plant that's messed up. A manager at our dealership has a Equinox, never had a problem with it, not one. Same cars but assembled at a different plant, 15 - 20 recalls. We're going to drive them all like we stole them and hopefully find one that was built in a different plant and doesn't shake. The guy that put 50k miles in 9 months has had the hose on the AC come loose, and changed a set of tires. Nothing else. I don't want to loose my faith, but we're definitely paranoid. Plus it doesn't help we won't buy a dodge or ford. That leaves just Toyota and we're still not sure about the tundras! But we have to have a truck for work so there's no other choice. I'll keep you updated!

I feel like no option is the perfect one! Ideally what we would want is a change of collateral and just have them give us a truck equal in MSRP. We really do love our Chevy and would ultimately like to find one that's "smooth as glass". Funny thing is, we've stopped a lot of people on the road around here with 2014/2015 silverados and sierras and have flat out asked them if they had vibration problems and we keep getting the same answer - "smooth as glass". One guy has a 2014 Sierra he purchased in Nov. 2014, put 50,000 miles on it already going back and forth to VA and his rides perfectly. The blood orchid exists, you just have to find it! The manager at our dealership already asked us to make sure and come back when we're looking for a new one and he told us we'll take 10 of them out till we find the smoothest one. So I'll give up when I've tried them all and they all vibrate. But I can't say 100% they all do it, because a lot of people we've spoken too said theirs doesn't :/

Will do! Thought about why it hasn't happened yet, but how to organize such a thing!?

We need to call the rep at GM on Monday and find out. We want to give them a chance to guide us before we go behind their backs and call the BBB. So far our experience has been nothing but good. Long and time consuming, but good. I guess talks with GM and find out what they want to do. Now, I have to say our situation has been different. Our dealership genuinely WANTED to fix our vehicle, they did everything they could before the engineers even came. The fact that they only changed two tires and didn't even stick around to try it afterwards tells us they might have known our particular truck is a lost cause. Also keep in mind, in FL the lemon law is effective after three attempts and we were patient way beyond that in working with them to find a fix. Our truck was in for Vibes 5 or 6 times alone. Our dealership went above and beyond and who knows what went on behind the scenes but maybe they worked in our favor. Anyways, we shall see!

We just got ours back from being with the GM engineers, they hooked up the PICO meter and drove it about 50 miles. They just changed out two tires. BUT our dealer has already road forced the originals tires, then changed out all four, after that they rebuilt the deferential and changed out the drive shaft. So they kind of did what they could already. Just really sucks :/ our dealership has been AMAZING to say the least and we are SO thankful they've stuck with us through all this. See my above videos for some reference.
-
So we got our 2014 rally 2 back after the final repair attempt with GM engineers. Unfortunately the problem is not resolved. They road forced the tires again and two were replaced which did not fix the issue. Here are some videos for you all that we've taken. The first one is our truck before the final repair attempt. The second video is a loaner they gave us. The third video is our truck after we got it back from the dealer. Have to say we are super disappointed. We love our truck so much First video: Second video: Third video:

I'm not surprised with the radio problem, a lot of people have been having issues with that :/ as for the shaking, we have it at almost any speed above 40 now, so it's really out of control. Luckily here in Florida were still covered under the lemon law. It really works in the consumers favor and we have a really strong case. We will see! Hopefully the engineer shows up on Thursday! This truck really is turning out to be a lemon!
-
Our radio definately doesn't get the best reception, but we often have our phones plugged in a lot of the time anyways. But that's not our biggest concern. The amount of issues we've had with this truck is outrageous. First two months the AC went out, steering stop was NOT lubed from factory and created a clicking noise when turning. Differential and rear shaft were BOTH built WAY off spec from factory. Vibrations for the last 12,000 miles (we drive a lot, 19,000 miles in 9 months). The steering stop had to be lubed AGAIN. Now the lube on rear leafs in the back left have dried up and there is a loud clunking noise with that. Still waiting to drop the truck off on Thursday to have the engineer work on it for the 10 days they are allowed to keep it. When we brought the truck for the rear leafs the service manager just lubed them up and said "you've got the engineer coming, let's just lube them up for now and we'll take care of it when it's all said and done. Well replace them if they fix the truck" LOL!!! So yeah, he's as fed up with our truck as we are!!! We're at the point where we feel like everything is shaking lose on this truck and come the warrantys end we're going to have some major problems. It's been one thing after another. It's not even like we're nit picking the stupid things, everything that comes up has been an issue discussed on these forums at one point or another. We LOVE this truck otherwise, just sad we've lost our faith in Chevy. We're pushing for a refund of the truck and we'll move on. Hopefully we can find something we'll be as happy with!
-
We also have the 22" factory rims and they tried saying the same thing. That due to the "agressiveness" of the wheels you will feel more vibrations in the truck. I told them I'm a woman and even I can tell the difference between true road vibrations and the truck riding wrong. LOL, they gave up after the second visit and admitted the vibration was a problem. But, like I keep saying, our service advisor and manager are really really on our side and haven't pushed aside any of our concerns at any time. We have been lucky. As for the differential, it seems more and more people have had the same issue as us with them being built WAY off. They rebuilt ours, not replace it and it made a decent improvement. 2 months later though, it's back to being horrible again.
-
So far we haven't gotten a lawyer involved yet, I have his number very handy though! I'll update as soon as we get any info after dropping it off on Thursday. Make sure you send in the defect notice that's in the back of your lemon law book to notify them it will be their final repair attempt if you bring it in again. I also have a few videos from this last month documenting the vibrations if we go the lemon law route those will come in handy. Our service manager and advisor are also very much on our side which also helps a lot.

2015 Silverado LT Vibration/Shaking
Bdkfl replied to MA-Silverado's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
Our driveshaft was completely out of spec as well. Instead of ordering another one they REBUILT it properly. That was the best improvement we had felt by far. Our dealership has been nothing but awesome in helping us find a fix and practically pushed us themselves to go into talks with GM. It's going in for its final repair attempt on the 16th with a GM engineer and they'll probably keep it for the 10 day maximum they'll have and throw parts at it. I would ask them to rebuild it if your on good terms with them. -
We're in FL and it's getting to be in the 90s and the vibration is horrible, although it has been since the beginning!
-
We're going in for our final repair attempt (after 8 total visits for 4 different issues) with a GM engineer on the 16th. After that we'll let the FL lemon law take over.
-
What's really disturbing is driving 1h30m highway everyday and having to deal with a ride like this. And paying for it. -_-
-
They rebuilt that on ours and that's when we felt a 50% improvement, which was the best change. Don't know what happened because it's horrible again now
-
Wow, our lemon law here in FL is enforced attorney general. I can see why you're in such a predicament. We've been dealing with it for 10,000 miles, ours WAS in between 72 and 80, now it's almost all the time between 42 and 50 and 65 and 80. I guess finding that one mechanic that will help you out is you're only option. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :/ OK sucks if you got a lemon!
-
You should be eligible under the OK lemon law if you have brought it four times. I would bring it back one more time with a letter for a final repair attempt. This is you letting them know this is their last chance. Once you get the vehicle back, if it is not repaired, you can use lemon law. Now, do you absolutely need a lawyer for that? Also, what has the BBB mediator told you? Why won't they help? forgot to put in the quote!
