    I had the OEM "black" shocks and struts and the Bilstein 4600 HD's made a big difference,If you have Ranchos,i can't comment.I changed the back shocks first because it only took 20 min.and didn't notice a "big" difference,but when i changed the struts that weekend,the difference was night and day. I still had random vibes after the change,but it rode better.

    I had been dealing with the random vibes at 70-75mph for 10 months,7500 miles.Put Bilsteins on the 4 corners as well,and it did improve the ride quite a bit,but didn't solve the vibes,So between the vibes,clunking leaf springs,nasty A/C smell at start up,and feeling every little bump on the highways( I live in Arlington and drive I-20 and 360 everyday) I traded it for late model Tahoe LTZ, Quality built vehicle,nice ride,still have room to throw stuff in the back.Truck depreciated $5000 in 10 mo.s,oh well,Love the Tahoe.

    American Axle used to be a Division of GM, In 1994 GM decided to spin them off and let them try to survive on there own,screwing the employees who were forced to either transfer to another GM plant or take 50% cut in wages and benefits,eventually most AAM plants in the USA either closed or moved to Mexico,So GM,you get what you pay for,cheap shitty parts.

    I've been wondering if anyone has put a confirmed "vibrator" on a stationary dyno,get it up to speed(70-75) and see if they can replicate the vibe without having to go on the highway.Would be smooth/consistant ride,unlike highway where little bumps can set it off,Seems like this method could narrow down the possibilities.If it still vibes on dyno,that would eliminate anything up front (Tires,wheels,Smooth Road Shake from the new electric power steering,suspension,aerodynamics) narrow it down to the rear tires/wheels,driveshaft,rearend gears/axles,transmission.....Still chuckle about the guy who was told it shakes because he put running boards on.

    Bdkfl,I have a question,does your truck vibe continous when you're doing 70-75,or does it come and go? Great video's by the way,mine comes and goes at that speed.And i can't tell by the pic,Is your truck a DC or CC,DC's are built in Ft. Wayne IN. and CC's are built in Mexico.I believe both are having vibe issues so i believe both plants are using the same parts of 1 supplier.

    I have the random 70-75mph vibe on smooth highway and yes i did install Bilstein 4600 HD's on all 4 corners,It did'nt cure the random vibes but it rides so much better than the OEM (black) shocks and struts.No more bouncy bumps,Bilsteins were $325 and i installed them myself.The difference in dampening is night and day.Again this did NOT solve my random vibes at highway speeds,but eliminated the bouncy ride.

    I have a question for you Kenny,did your truck shake everytime and constant at 75 (It would shake as soon as you hit 70-75 and keep shaking for miles til you slowed down under 70) ,or did it come and go randomly while staying at same speed? I have the latter happening with my truck,comes and goes.Thanks.

    You are correct sir,it has to be pretty common ,but the only people who notice it drive the highway everyday.My truck vibes only between 70-75 on certain stetches of highway with slight inclines or declines,usually with cruise control on.It comes and goes without warning,feels just like a tire out of balance.If i drive that same route going 68-69mph or even 75-80 i have no vibes.It is a mystery.

    Thanks for the quick replies Wrench& mjj ,I guess it shouldn't be the tires because it doesn't do it at 73 all the time,same could be said about a driveshaft out of balance,if it were the driveshaft it would vibe everytime i hit that 70-75 speed,right? I sometimes wonder too if it has to do with the suspension at high speed (hit a little bump and get that same shake feel in the seat/console.) I guess thats why this has been such a mystery for so long,but i refuse to have the dealer just rip and tear at it throwing parts and $ at the problem blindly.I do feel sorry for some of the people on here who have done that with no fix.All i have to do is keep it under 70 and it drives pretty good (like a truck).Keep hoping to see on here that someone discovered what the problem is before my warranty runs out.Only got 4300 mi.s on it but still.

    Brand new member to this site even though i've been reading and following the vibration posts for a couple months now trying to solve MY vibration problem without having to "DEAL" with the service dept. at my local dealership (which is not where i purchased the truck).Purchased my truck in Oct.14 and have noticed the vibe from day 1,and like many of you,though i had a tire out of balance.I guess i fall into the "vibration on smooth highway at 70-75" category.Every morning drive the same route to work,hit cruise control at 73,doesn't vibrate the whole time,but on slight inclines on the same stetches it happens like clockwork,doesn't matter if it's in V4 or V8 mode.And seems like if i hit a little bump it makes it worse for a short distance.Now my ? .doing some research yesterday,I discovered that the red dots on my 18" Bridgestone duelers aren't lined up with the valve stems,All 4 tires the dots are just "anywhere" on the tire in relation to the valvestem. Those red dots indicate the heavy spot on the tire i do believe.I've had NTB balance all 4 tires and they said they were all off a little from the factory.Even though people have said with the "NEW" balancing equipment it "doesn't matter where the spot it" I'm wondering if it really does matter.So the reason i decided post today is that i haven't seen many posts in regards to how the tires are mounted with the red dots inline with the valvestem.Any thoughts,thanks
