  1. Think they are (Factory caps) a one and done deal. At least by the looks of this video, I know his are trashed, but they do not come off easy.
  2. Think you will need some of the factory bed caps, otherwise you are going to just have the exposed bed tops. Maybe a tailgate cap too?
  3. Yes please, always like to learn new things about the K2's. Thanks for your offer.
  4. Why does the engine need a 50% increase in oil pressure above 3500 RPMs In Laymans terms, It is spinning really fast and needs all the lubrication it can produce so it does not blow up.
  5. She last posted 3 years and 7 days ago. Thinking problem solved or truck sold.
  6. Welcome to the site. Who are buying the truck from?
  7. Welcome to the site. Did you ask if the dealer could possibly expand on their very vague statement about the driveline? At this point all you will get here are random guesses and stories about what was wrong with other trucks, which may or may not apply to your situation.
  8. Are we playing closet too, without going over? If so, my guess is 12 members. Let me know what I win, and when I will see my prize
  9. Then, down these: Possible Causes of Service StabiliTrak Message The Service StabiliTrak message is usually caused by a problem with the traction control system, brake components, or steering wheel system. 10. Some paths to go down in your search: Chevy Silverado: Service StabiliTrak Light Causes Wheel Speed Sensor A typical wheel speed sensor Wheel speed sensors are the number one reason that the StabiliTrak system fails. ... Brake Pedal Switch Your Silverado’s brake pedal switch does more than just control whether or not your brake lights are turned on. ... Faulty Stability Control Module The Stability Control Module is your Silverado’s computer that controls the StabiliTrak system. ...
  11. Have the Michelin's on our Tahoe, second set now, almost 70K out of the first set. Have a set of Cooper AT3 S4 on my truck, really liking them so far.
  12. The tonneau I had came with the truck, lots of dealers used to lower or lift trucks, then you just bought it with full warranty. It was PIA when I first bought it, the lowering kit on the truck just did not work as advertised, ending up having to have the back half of the transmission housing replaced (tail shaft area), it would vibrate and bottom out so bad, it cracked. I finally ended up getting the driveline shimmed (shims under the leaf pack, rotating the axle), replacing the drop shackles with factory ones (just a static drop), and having the wheels rebalanced. After all that, I still had a rough 3-5 drop, never bottomed out, or vibrated again. Could tow and put a normal amount of weight in the bed. Good luck, the problems are hard to find when you alter the factory specs (geometry) of the suspension.
  13. Off the original topic, that is a GREAT looking truck, makes me miss my 04, same stance and looks. Victory Red with 20's, matching painted hard tonneau cover.
  14. Angle of the driveshaft since it is lowered? Had a 04 that needed shims to get the right angle, was violent at freeway speeds until they found the right angle. Just a guess.
  15. No, always been a firm believer that if you pay up front for options you may think you will never use, you will because they are there and available.
  16. Still think you would be fine is stock trim making the trip, only thing that really is going to be hurt is your wallet when you see your gas mileage.
  17. My 16 had the coolant smell, our 16 Tahoe has it, and my 18 is the same. No visible leaks, just add 4-8oz, or so every 12-18 months. Coolant changed in all every 4-5 years. Think it just eveorprates because these engines run so hot.
  18. By the looks of the GMC, they are saving time and putting in LED lighting that is already failing, heading towards the "purple" hue
  19. Two guesses, have you had the vacuum pump replaced or updated? Do you have the downhill decent on? See if I can get this post rolling for you.
  20. Lets do this first, just like going to the doctor: Are you the original owner, do you know if the transmission is serviced regularly? Have you done any modes to it, or updated the thermostat, or flipped the "pill"? What was the operating temperature when it failed? Any problems before this epsiode? Lots of things could be wrong, so I guess my question is, what type of feedback are you looking for? Do you trust the shop it is being taken too, or are you planning on disputing what they find with guesses from this sites members? Not tryng to be completely facetious, or mean spirited, but machines fail, it just happens if we use them.
  21. Just crazy to see other people on the internet saying they're getting 16/20MPG Well, pretty sure no one has ever lied on the internet. Think there are rules about that everyone must follow to be allowed on it. Example, I am on my original tank of gas, so my 6.2 is getting around 5-10k to the gallon, not too shabby for almost 57000 miles
