  1. You just use an interior trim tool, and carefully pry it up and out. The wiring loom is basically just long enough to disconnect, then reconnect a new unit.
  2. Just hit this milestone, still no problems. Replaced both tail lights now because of condensation inside the lenses, other than that, just routine maintenance.
  3. Windshield? Factory sunroof? There also have been reports of the cab seams coming apart on the roof.
  4. Yes.
  5. If they buy a camper/trailer at the max numbers, it is too much. Maybe look into a 3/4 ton, then buy the camper/trailer that they really want. 1/2 will get virtually anything moving, but when you have side gusts of wind, or when you have to hard brake, you will realize why you should have bought the 3/4 ton, 1 ton. The Tundra towed the space shuttle, but they did not show you it trying to stop
  6. That was a lot to read, so maybe I missed it, did you mention the 3rd brake light housing? Headliner stained, or discolored anywhere?
  7. Fuse block, non serviceable relay blows, then whole unit needs to be replaced. That is my guess, had it happen in my 08.
  8. Any leaks from picture #1? I believe that "boot" just covers the input shaft, you can see the weep hole for when the seal goes bad. If no leaks, tape the ring to the pumpkin and keep driving until you get it fixed. JMO.
  9. When the battery starts to go, you will get all kinds of crazy things happening with the electrical system. Maybe have it checked, or just replace to be safe.
  10. How old is your battery?
  11. Start by pulling the fuse (should be able to find location in the OM) to see if this disengages it. May be a gremlin from the battery running down.
  12. I had the drivers side replaced under warranty, and now the passenger side is having the same problem. 2018 LTZ with OEM LED's. They are incredibly expensive, so was wondering if anyone has been able to find a fix that last to get rid/not let in the moisture. When I spoke with a counter parts person at the local GMC dealership, he said it was a very common problem with most times the light just stops working. I know there are cheaper alternatives, but are they any better quality than the OEM version?
  13. How are your brakes? You are kind of in the window to replace mileage wise.
  14. Not trying to just send you somewhere else, but the 1999-2013 area might yield more answers. Just repost there. Good luck!
  15. Terd? Like Terd Ferguson? That name alone should have been a sign not to buy
  16. Have the pads checked. My truck starting doing it a little over a year ago, then the creaking turns into a grinding noise. So, just had the brakes replaced at all 4 corners, no more noise. Done at 65000 miles.
  17. Info about your truck, as much detail you can provide, makes it so much easier for people to help.
  18. Welcome to the site. Need more info on the truck, my guess is you have an active CEL, if so, it is a built in safety feature and disables the function.
  19. How long have you been getting the messages? And, what mods have you possibly done to set them off?
  20. How about a picture of the grill?
  21. Check the wiring loom in the center console for broken or chaffed wires. The lid rides on it while opening and closing, causing damage after time.
  22. Part of my cable package, so I am good for now.
