  1. At 4:20 seconds in the video, you can see the damper disappearing into the bed wall, that is the part that has failed.
  2. It's not that plastic bushing that is the problem. There is a damper that is located inside the fender on the passenger side, that is what the bushing sits on. As it wears out, it loses its ability to slow down the tailgate when it is dropped. Pretty simple fix but still should last longer than it does.
  3. Feature has been around more than a decade in GM trucks, kind of hard to miss.
  4. Maybe replace the bulb? They don't last forever, just an idea.
  5. Ironically my Chevy App has been saying to service my ABS too??? Hmm, wonder if there is a glitch in their system? Been going on for about a month now, just won't clear out, nothing going on in the truck, no lights, no warnings.
  6. You can give it a good cleaning to get rid of the dirt and oil build up from your fingers, which lead to the ghost funtions, temporary fix, but you will need to replace the screen eventually. Just another known problem with this generation truck and SUV.
  7. Pretty sure he was, just curious about what lie was going to be the response.
  8. Not the same truck, but I guess a similar problem. Had a pushrod break in my 2016, engine replaced and had so many problems the truck ended up being a buy back from GM. One of the issues I did experience was dying while driving at freeway speeds. I cannot be sure but am confident they did not do the relearn correctly when installing the new engine causing a communication problem between the truck and new engine.
  9. The whole light unit is a one and done, no repairs, or fuses, you just replace it with a new unit when something burns out. You may be able to tear the light apart and put in a new strip if you are very mechanically inclined, using aftermarket parts.
  10. What did they charge you to program the factory brake controller?
  11. If you disable the AFM system, the same lifters (AFM) are still in the engine, and are still being used. If you delete the whole AFM system, those lifters will no longer be in the engine.
  12. Replace it, doubt if it is a servicable part. It is a pretty simple swap on the K2's.
  13. Check the wiring loom in the center console, it runs through the hollow part of "arms" on the back of the lid. It will be visible on the drivers side, look for damaged wires due to rubbing on the lid while being opened. This is just a guess on the fact that you have the full center console, no info listed on your truck, which really helps on the replies you get.
  14. harness I can also purchase to plug into the existing harness and plug into the new mirrors? This^^^^^^^^^^^^
  15. Is your truck an LTZ or High Country that was wired from the factory for the LED units?
  16. Any signs of it failing? I can hear a very faint squeak at times at the front of my engine, just wondering if it is my alternator. The noise is so quiet, I don't think most would even notice it. Just had the water pump, all belts, and idler pully replaced.
  17. Shoot, Ruth is located at the South Pole
  18. I am impressed the engine would even run up to 300 degrees before it checked out. Nothing as far as obvious signs when it was getting that hot, pretty sure your dash was lighting up like a Christmas tree.
  19. Check the 1500 threads, think the interior on both models are pretty much identical.
  20. Sawzall did the trick for me
  21. Any play in the water pump pulley?
  22. Year, make, model of truck?
