  1. So question about these options/upgrades during checkout on the Zone 6.5 lift. So i called my local shop and they are about 1.5weeks out from any new installs so if i could have them do it, it would be sometime after thanksgiving..So i figured id check and see online and looks like i could get the lift in before thanksgiving and i could install over the holidays.. So my question is on the shocks and add leaf.. what benefits will i get by choosing either the nitro or the fox? Is it worth selecting either over the hydro? And on the rear leaf, no mention on their site, but on my 2011 F150 i did a rear add leaf along with a leveling kit and on that setup, they stated the rear leaf would allow an additional XXX lbs of payload you could carry.. (this was not a Zone lift on that truck, but curious if there is any benefits of adding the leaf) besides getting a true level look.
  2. Went first thing saturday morning had them just install the muffler in place with everything else as it was and started it up, sounded ok, but really couldnt tell it was a 10 series at all, so had them remove resonator and flap and just dump it.. MAN what a difference.. def alot of drone in the cab, but only at certain speeds/RPM ranges.. but i love it.. more than the 40 series i had on my 15.
  3. So, still shopping for good deal on wheels, but was wanting to ask, only because i cant find anything i like or that meets all the specs for the lift.. Zone 6.5" I havent measured yet, but will or can this weekend.. Couldnt i add a small spacer, to be determined after measuring OEM wheels, to my 20" Polished Aluminum rims so that i only need to upgrade the tires or even run them for a while before rushing into everything.. Im ready to get the lift, just need to schedule. Looking online at tirerack, discounttire, 4wheelparts and other sites.. there are plenty of rims out there, but the ones im finding at right size, right bolt pattern, but wrong backspacing.. Zone states 5.75" for 20's and 5" for 17's everything i find shows back spacing around 4 to 4.75 If i order the rims online, i want to make sure i get the right thing.. These are the ones i have now.. im ok with these if they can be used.. specs are 20x9 i think the paperwork shows.. i havent removed one to find the backspacing and offset yet.. but if a thin spacer would work, id be all over this and in line to get the lift ASAP. Any one know the true specs on these rims? Size: BackSpace: Offset:
  4. I plan on going this weekend to have the Flowmaster 10 Series installed.. First just the muffler, start it and see how it sounds with the resonator in place.. if not to my liking then ill have them remove it. But where is this V4 flap? is that inline somewhere in the exhaust? Is that a job for the muffler shop? what does removing it do?
  5. thanks So if i just deal with it, running 35's on 6" lift wont thru any codes will it? Doubt it, just wanted to make sure.. And i looked at the hypertech site and they have a harness that does the calibration inline..
  6. So if we get the lifts, we just need to learn to deal with the speedo being off at X speeds and the gas mileage drop? Back when i owned a Ford, as long as you had rims/tires within the sizes of dealer available sizes, they would recalibrate the speedo so that you wouldnt loose much on MPG and get you closer if not exactly at the right speeds..
  7. Wildchevys, So i was quoted for my lift, the zone 6.5" lift I have 2017 LT Z71 5.3L 4WD where would i find if my truck has maganride? and validate that they quoted me for something that will actually work on the truck? Also, once the lift is done, will the dealer be able to readjust the speedo like MOSierra was asking in his post?
  8. The reason im asking, is because i was quoted $2520 for wheels and tires, plus the cost of the lift as well.. SO i rather find more reasonable wheels and tires before i have the lift done.. Not looking to run stock unless i can, my last truck i had lifted.. it was the smallest lift you could get on a ford just after a leveling kit, so whatever size taht was, i was able to run my stock rims and then get larger tires.. So thats why im asking. I would be ok with the stock rims as long as they worked, but if they dont, thats fine but not looking to spend $2500 on wheels and tires.. If i can find some less expensive or even someone selling a set that has the right offset /backspace then i can get those before having the truck lifted.. and be set..
  9. Wouldnt that mean i could use my stock rims then? because my rims are 20x9 already
  10. As long as you have the right tools to get clean cuts and such, def doable. I did just that back in the day, until i was happy, then would take it into the muffler shop to have it welded in..
  11. So when i meant safest, i meant that i could order online or locally or buy off someone that i woudlnt be wasting my time.. I dont want to cause issues to the truck being new.. and not looking for widest tire, but def want to get in the 35's Stock rims that are on the truck are 20x9 but the offset is not there to keep them after the lift.. So if i chose to stick with a 20" rim looks like i would need to get a rim with a 5.75" offset/backspace? So safest would mean if i found someone that had some rims 20x9 and 5.5" would that work? Just looking for safe ranges of sizes Very sweet did you do the install yourself or have it done?
  12. Just picked up a 17 crew 4wd Z71 this week, waiting to pick up the truck tomorrow or thursday. I will have a set of OEM chrome running boards that id like to sell, not digging the look since im blacking everything else out. They are the oval version, once i have the truck they are coming off and setting aside until i sell them. Currently the truck only has about 23miles, Ill post pics of them as soon as i have them in my possesion PM if there is any interest.
  13. What is the safest wheel size and offset to consider with a 6" lift? The truck comes with the 20" clad rims.. calling around for having the lift done vs doing it myself, but curious about offset to consider. Id like to run 35's , but shelling out $5k for a package deal(lift, rims and tires), seems pretty high when i can buy the rims and tires for around $1600 So any safe sizes i can consider to run 35's if i did the lift install myself?
  14. yea see i got the 40 series on my 15 and after having it done was not loud enough, so had them remove the resonator and it was louder, but still didnt feel like what i wanted.. I may try the 10 series with the resonator to see how that sounds and not happy take the resonator off.
  15. ok, cool, yea i was noticing that..i know wife is ok with getting the 6" lift on the truck so that we dont loose it if it floods in our area again, but knowing that there is another lift higher out there may be worth considering ;) thanks for the insight on the Z71 and what would be changed out
  16. So looking to possible have the flow 10 series installed on my new truck, had a 2015 LT until it was flooded during harvey, just picked up 2017 LT Z71 4wd and want something louder than i had before as far as exhaust, had the 40 series on it before and resonator removed and dumped after the axle.. has anyone done the 10 series and regretted it? I know there will be alot of drone inside.. but dont want to regret it either. Looking for the aggressive sound
  17. ok, so not really loosing anything but the shocks with the one that come in the kits..
  18. So dumb question, going up to the 10 or 12, or even the 6" seems that most kits come with new shocks and such.. Since i just got the Z71, how much of that package would be replaced?
  19. What is the tallest lift you can get online that you can do yourself? Is the 6"/ 7" the tallest? Picked up a 2017 1500 4wd LT Z71 this weekend.. and want to get a lift as soon as i can.. Im sure id be good with the 6", but if i could go taller for not much more, id rather do that.
  20. If you cant find any online(ebay, amazon or another member) have you considered taking the other good one off and taking to a local metal shop and see if they would fab one up for you?
  21. Well considering there is no Parts List on their website, kinda hard to find something that doesn't exist. They have links for Lift Kits, Shocks, Steering Stabilizers and accessories and in neither of those, are there any struts listed.. But appreciate the help..
  22. Is there a part number for the BDS struts? I looked and couldnt find struts, i found shocks, but not struts that would work with the stock springs
  23. Zone and BDS are the 2 options i was considering, just curious if getting the adjustable struts along with 4" lift would in reality give me the 6" i was looking to do with out such large front spacers.. Ive seen the lifts in person that have that large spacer in the front and even though the truck looks awesome, just stands out when you look between the tires.. Thats why im asking.. if the adjustable struts would allow for the 2" you get from the leveling, then slap on the 4" lift with the smaller spacer, it would give it a cleaner look.. im not in the market to spend 2k or 3k on a lift.. i just want a 6" overall lift on the truck..
  24. wildchevys, So your response is yes it would work to get these along with the 4" lift to get a 6" over all height? wildchevys, So your response is yes it would work to get these along with the 4" lift to get a 6" over all height?
  25. Just curious if anyone has done this and if its even an option without messing anything up I ran across these Rancho Loaded QuickLift Complete strut assembly RS999901 which are listed as leveling kits up to 2" seems better than just adding the spacers.. But my question is could you combine these with the 4" lift or even the 3.5" lift to get the height without such large spacers in the front? opinions? Feedback from anyone that has done it that way? Ive been ready to buy my kit, but having to wait a bit longer to finish paying off a few things before i add more.
