Hello, I just noticed over the weekend (doing a 800 mile trip) that my 16 Silverado is making a faint chattering noise (or ticking noise) from the driver side when I accelerate during uphill or on cruise. It doesn't always happen. What I mean by this is, if I stop the vehicle (like rest area) and get out for a bit, I can come back and press the gas peddle (even on cruise) and it doesn't do it. But if I drive it a while while on cruise or a slight hill climb I can hear it. It's not really loud, just a faint chattering noise (similar to if you were to test a spark plug out of socket). I don't lose power if I had to accelerate, but because the cabin is so quite I can hear every little thing from the engine.
Sorry if this is the best I can explain this.
While driving the AC was on. I have only 3800 miles on the truck and I rarely floor the peddle. I put in 87 octane (or regular gas), usually Costco gas, Chevron only and 76 if I had to.
many years ago we have a Chevy Astro van and I recall it doing something similar to that. I'm not sure if it's a Chevy thing or not.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
