The tech tried to use the same method on the 14's and 15's but that didn't apply to this so they tried this method. it's holding up so far. I've taken a 300 mile trip and there's no noise yet, doesn't mean it won't happen. It might take another 4000 miles before the symptoms creep up.

I really wonder about Ford's F150 aluminum trucks. If this is high strength steel, how does an aluminum truck stand up to this? Suffice it to say I heard speculation that Chevy is going down that road in the next 2 yrs or whatever.. I can't imagine a truck getting squashed like a soda can. Not safe or good for anyone when its piled between 18 wheelers.

I just got my truck back. they replaced (so they said) the actuator and adjusted rails and re-tighten the bolt on the seat. It doesn't make clicking noises any longer but we'll have to see how long this lasts.

I took it in the other day for a quick eval, they said there's supposed to be a TSB but it only applies for the 15's. However, I was able to make it happen at will to them. They almost appeared to not want to do any work despite it being a new vehicle with 3/36k on it. Shaddy practice... IMO. Anyways, i'm dropping the vehicle off next week for them to pull the chair out and try to repair it or order parts.

My dealer (ron tonkin chevy) says it's a common reported issue but says it probably won't do it, but I told them I can guarantee it will make the noise when I bring it on. Bringing it in this afternoon. All I know is they better fix this, it's a brand new truck , i didn't pay almost 40k for a pos truck. I could've saved money if I wanted a problematic truck and got an old used truck.

this is correct. I was on my way to the dealership for my first oil change and noticed it while lightly accelerating, certainly not as loud as previously when going up a hill but enough to hear it. when I coast or on cruise, I can hear it if I give it a little more gas to speed up. Yes very annoying when the radio's off. All trucks you've owned are they domestic and/or foreign?

mines new with 5k and "New" doesn't solve the problem. if I didn't lose so much money, i'd go with another truck.

Thanks for all the replies, for a moment there I thought maybe its just me getting annoyed easily by hearing weird sounds from a brand new truck.

Good to know.. but they're just CYA on their part I suppose. Off course most dealerships will deny it to the end anyways. What they should explain is how come it does it sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't seem to make sense IMO.

We don't have 89 octane here in Oregon/Washington. We have 87 and 93. No mid-grade. hmm, I haven't put in premium fuel just because of that. I'm glad you're experiencing it as well and not just me. Thanks for the insight.

Hello, I just noticed over the weekend (doing a 800 mile trip) that my 16 Silverado is making a faint chattering noise (or ticking noise) from the driver side when I accelerate during uphill or on cruise. It doesn't always happen. What I mean by this is, if I stop the vehicle (like rest area) and get out for a bit, I can come back and press the gas peddle (even on cruise) and it doesn't do it. But if I drive it a while while on cruise or a slight hill climb I can hear it. It's not really loud, just a faint chattering noise (similar to if you were to test a spark plug out of socket). I don't lose power if I had to accelerate, but because the cabin is so quite I can hear every little thing from the engine. Sorry if this is the best I can explain this. While driving the AC was on. I have only 3800 miles on the truck and I rarely floor the peddle. I put in 87 octane (or regular gas), usually Costco gas, Chevron only and 76 if I had to. many years ago we have a Chevy Astro van and I recall it doing something similar to that. I'm not sure if it's a Chevy thing or not. Thanks in advance for any replies. CS

I do minor paint repairs on my vehicles all the time when I get a chance to. If you can find a local paint company to mix you a few cans of aerosol cans (color match) or order it online http://www.automotivetouchup.com/spray_paint_matched.aspx, you can do the touch up yourself by sanding, a little primer and spray paint. A few coats 6-8 inches away horizontally back and forth; each time you get to the end pull the can away. You then finish it off with a 2k clear coat (i usually buy them from Amazon) and it looks like new. Do a few coat of clear. Once it's cured , you can cut and polish it. Easy DIY.

My 2016 Silverado LT 4x4. Bought it with 3 miles, now one month later it has 509 miles. Had passenger and drivers side window tinted and installed a running board. Next, install OE mud guards.

My new 2016 Silverado LT 4x4 crew cab is also built from Fort Wayne.

Installed the iBoards this past weekend as well. Took me almost two hours to install because I tried to make sense of their stupid instruction manual (one instructional manual doesn't work for all trucks) Only time will tell if they weather well.
