  1. I agree with you, I don't know as well but tomorrow I'll be taking it all off and back to factory and another alignment.
  2. Stamped steel, yes I got the correct kit and factory 275/ 55-20
  3. It was already done after the lift kit.
  4. I have the RC 2.5 leveling lift kit, for some strange reason on stock tires/ 20 rims it's rubbing on the sway bar just the driver side tire. I love the look but I will be taking it off and going back to stock due to warranty and don't want any issues when taking it in. 6k miles also noticed it pulls to the right when braking, not a hard pull but my cousins 2016 Chevy truck with about 300miles does not pull to the right or at all when braking. I don't believe it's the lift kit but still taking it off.
  5. Balance and rotate does help, it helped mines. One of my wheels requested extra weights which I didn't like. That wheel or tire are really out of balance. Wish their was a solid fix/ you would think with all these issues, they would have figure out the issue by now for these 2014-2016 models. I wonder if the new 2017 are going to have these issues as well
  6. It's normal, inside of the differential, their is a C clip that holds the axle in place so it won't slide out/ you would take the diff cover off then remove the C clip to remove the axle out. A little play when you pull in and out is normal.
  7. Installing a new axle shaft, let me know if it improves. I spoke to one of my friends which I'll be taking it in for other service, he's a GM tech I use to work with before I stop turning wrenches. He has had two jobs/ complaint with the vibration issues as well, from the dealer point of view, it's normal but I know and we all know and he knows it's not normal but no solid fix. He even test drove a loaner truck that did the same thing as the customers complaint vehicle. He ordered a new driveshaft under warranty and the new driveshaft did not resolved the issue. Also like I stated above I test drove my little cousins new truck with 200 miles and hers vibrates at well under hard acc. I haven't taken mines in as a complaint yet but also I don't want techs throwing parts at my truck with no luck.
  8. No, you don't have to remove the upper control arm nut. Just the outer tie rod and the link bushing on both sides. Taking the upper control arm but off makes things much easier I believe then get the truck aligned after your done with everything.
  9. Yup, for the 2016 you have to take the strut out, unless you have a spring compresor like the shops due then you have to take it to brake check or any brake shop to get the damn preload spacer installed under the spring. I didn't know that till I read the instruction. The 2014 and 15 models you just install the spacers under the shock and on top of the strut which I thought was the same form my truck but no. It was a pain in the a** process but once all done and said with I'm happy with the way the truck looks. The only issue I'm having with the kit is the length of the bolts they sent me. I called RC and one of them said it's the correct length which I do not agree. It should be longer, not so flush with the nut lock internal plastic in the picture I posted. Another parson via email said I need to order a different 10mm bolt/ call them. That's the only issue i have with this kit. Honestly if I knew about the spring preoalod spacer then no, I would not have order the kit but it's on and it is what it is.
  10. I know, but I was kinda concern at first. I thought it was the damn lift kit but thankfully my little cousin just bought her new Chevy and hers is doing the same thing mine is, so that rules out the lift kit. I'll look into the clamps, actually if you have pics that would be great! But I still want to get the driveshaft inspected at a driveshaft shop. Only then I'll be okay
  11. Test drove my cousins new 2016 Chevy the white one today with 200 miles and her truck does the same crap that mine with less then 6000 miles is doing the black one. So happy to say it's not the lift kit. Next step is to take the driveshaft to get checked out and hope that's it. I'll report back when I get the driveshaft back from the shop.
  12. Okay cool, sounds good. I also don't think it's the lift kit causing it.
  13. What was your fix??? Mine only has blocks on the leaf spring and the front lift kit. That's it. No shims on the transmission/ I don't have a 4x4 so no transfer case or front diff. So from your exp with your truck issue it is the lift kit???
  14. Drive shaft will always spin like others have stated. First thing I'll do is take out the drive shaft and get it inspected at a driveshaft shop that specialize in that type of work. If that doesn't take care of the issue as I hope it does though, then the last step for me is to take off the RC 2.5 leveling lift kit and put the suspension back to factory and test drive it again, time consuming and redo the damn alignment again.
  15. This is some info I found, probably has already been posted before so I apologize in advance if it's old news but did concern me. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2016/03/the-mysterious-chevy-shake-is-affecting-pickup-trucks-now-too.html
  16. I don't have a 4x4, and by shims do you mean the leveling kit shims? Or something different? At first I was like, I'm taking the lift kit off asap but I honestly don't think the lift kit could cause that issues or I might be wrong. On the rear end it would be the bigger block under the leaf springs, and the front end just those plastic polymer and preload strut spacer in the front. Mine does it around 80-90 accelerating hard only
  17. When I get a chance I'll take out the drive shaft and go to a local shop here in Houston Texas and get it checked out. Hope it helps/ it's the solution for me
  18. I've read a lot of the post on here and my issue a strange vibration around 80-90mph when gunning it. I did get the balanace and rotation done and helped while cruising at 70-80mph. So while driving normal (70-80mph) no vibration at all, really smooth drive but when hitting the eccelarator and gear down shifting getting up to 90mph, I feel a vibration in the rear end which is bothering the hell out of me. It's not a huge vibration but noticeable at those speeds. Wheels are already balanced and rotated and from one person fix was getting the driveshaft checked out and balanced/ fixed. Also I recently installed RC 2.5" leveling lift kit but I highly doubt the lift kit is causing a vibration while getting on the accelerator at 80-90mph.
  19. I ordered the correct kit, I have stamped steel lower control arms and the preload spacer for the struts
  20. Here's the pic
  21. Just got done installing tge RC 2.5 leveling lift kit. Question for the 2016 owners, the bottom struts spacers screw kit that y'all get, were they long enough??? Mines came kinda short for my liking. The YouTube video installation / probably a 2014/2015 modal are long enough @7:39 but on my 2016 truck they are too short. Did I get the wrong screw sets?
  22. Wow, been reading all the post and my new 2016 also has the same flex issue! I will be fixing it when I get back home. This crap is not cool and the amount of play it has on a NEW truck! *** I used a washer and 3M double sided sticky trim tape I have in my tool box, placed it in right in the back and no more play behind the plastic/ peddle play. This should be a sticky and thanks again for bringing this up! I would have never noticed or found out about it. The throttle response is noticeable, that little bit of play did make a diffenrece when applying the gas.
