  1. I agree, I’ve been researching and talking to many dealers for months now and I just can’t believe this one. If this is a real deal, someone got fired for it!
  2. You got your truck 21k off msrp and a above market trade allowance? Where did you buy? That’s seems absolutely unreal!
  3. So not to beat a dead horse but... I sold my truck and now am driving a loaner car from my family. Laura Buick GMC has the truck I want. 2020 Denali Ultimate 6.6 gas for 9408 Off msrp (59352 + 100 dealer fee) out the door before tax etc. Do I gamble on aug incentives or just bite the bullet?
  4. Well I don’t see how they put in an order for you. The order deadline for MY 2020 was back in May. So they could only put in a order for a 2021. Unfortunately the production start up for MY 2021 is sept 28th. So if they did order one for you it’ll be a 2021 and I wouldn’t expect it till oct/nov. I was actually at my local dealer today asking about the same thing because I sold my truck yesterday and now I feel like half a man (truckless)
  5. Yeah with rebates it’s almost a no brainer to buy new vs slightly used. Now the search for a 2020. Hope supply starts to pick up.
  6. So to update on this I just sold my truck private party today for $36,250. I paid $40,000 in sept 2016 for it. So I lost 3750 in almost 4 years. I’d say they hold value pretty well. Granted mine had 35000 miles and in excellent condition, but if you take care of them they will hold value very well.
  7. Well from experience: I have a 2016 gas sle 2500 hd that I paid $40000 for. I just recently started looking at upgrading and got a trade value from my local dealer of $33500. 6500$ loss over 4 years isn’t too bad. Msrp when new was $51500. Statistically used diesels will sell for more money than used gas but used gas will hold a higher percentage of original msrp than a diesel will. So people will always say diesel resale for more but realistically the gas holds more value. Do a comparison on kbb for any trim truck you desire and price it with a diesel and then a gas. The diesel will be about 6-7k more than the gas but that diesel cost 10k more when new.
  8. For sure... the only person that matters in your deal is you. If he’s happy then that’s all that matters. I know I’ve payed more than I should have before. Probably won’t make that mistake again. My point is more directed at dealers that triple the cost of that stuff. I mean I know they need to make money but f@*k
  9. So I’m really not trying to be a dick here but are these options really worth roughly 14-16k? You can easily get a 2019 for 15-16k off sticker right now. A lift, wheels and tires, and steps surely can’t be that expensive. I see dealers do this shit all the time and it’s crazy to me that people overpay for what could be done after the purchase for maybe 6k and that’s if you don’t do the work yourself.
  10. You are using the Bluetooth for music only. This has been available on gm trucks for years. What OP is talking about is android auto or Apple CarPlay which turns your center stack display into your phone display. You are able to use some apps directly off of your trucks screen. Google maps, Apple Maps, waze, pandora, phone app, etc. to do this you have to plug in your phone to one of the USB ports. If you try this in your truck you will see the app show up on you center stack. OP is wishing for this functionality to be wireless, which the 2021 Tahoe and Yukon will have when they are released.
  11. Haven’t seen this answer so sorry if it’s been asked but is this problem isolated to the 1500 or are people having problems with the new 2500/3500 too?
  12. Maybe he wants the Bose that is added with Convenience 2. Or maybe the fact that the radio is in fact different. HD screen vs non HD screen. Why the hasty comment for no reason.
  13. Lol. Sounds about like me... ooooo features.... take my money
  14. Yeah... you’ll always find a better deal after you buy. I did last time I bought but as long as you’re happy that’s all that really matters. I’d say 12-15k is a good deal. Especially if you are looking for specific options. When you find one equipped the way you want sometimes you just take the deal. As far as the 8 speed goes... I would have definitely gone to 2020 for the 10 speed. I don’t have one but haven’t heard very good things about it.
  15. I have noticed a big difference in incentives between 1500 and 2500/3500 trucks. I know that the HD is still very new but will the deals on the HD be there in the future? I see 15k off 1500's all day long but barley see 5-7k off the HD trucks. Maybe they get better when the 2021 model year comes out?
  16. I have a previous gen but it’s still 36 gallons and if I’m bone dry (driving with the light on for 15-20 miles) it’ll still only take 31 gallons. So could be that you just filled up before it was empty. Just a thought.
  17. I don’t know if any others will work but, I did talk to my local dealer about this cuz I noticed most dealers aren’t ordering the option. They quoted me 72$ for four sensors and you have them installed at a local tire shop. You may want to look around maybe your dealer is just price gouging.
  18. This is exactly my point. All I’m saying is a pickup is designed for a specific market. And that market doesn’t allow for a crazy high selling price. Average transaction price of a pickup is in the 40k neighborhood. Your semi is 150k plus. That extra 90k goes an awful long way to r&d and creature comforts. Now sell a 3/4 or 1ton for 150k and I bet they’d be on par with each other. I’m also sure they wouldn’t sell at all. It wouldn’t make sense to spend billions on r&d and not get a return on it. As far as the creature comforts that are in your semi... they sure as hell better be there for the asking price. All I’m saying is your not comparing apples to apples. Listen I know I’m getting you all rev’d up (pardon the pun) but there is obviously a reason every manufacturer on earth hasn’t figured this out yet. And if you think it is so easy to accomplish then I’m sure you’ll have your pick of oem’s to work for because the first manufacturer to accomplish it will dominate in sales. I read this forum almost every day and I agree with you on most every issue but to say oem’s can achieve a far better fuel economy number and just choose not to isn’t real world. There are other factors there we may not be seeing.
  19. So let’s ask this question. You constantly rant on here about how your semi is far superior to a pickup in all aspects of driving. Why do you even own a pickup. Shouldn’t you, by your claims, be driving a semi as a daily driver. Probably not. There are all kinds of reasons why that would be impractical. Also, the big rig semi oem’s have way more incentive to increase fuel mileage and the customer would gladly pay for better fuel economy because it affects their bottom line. The average consumer on a pickup wouldn’t pay a premium for fuel economy, as I’ve seen you argue in the diesel vs gas issue. You personally bought a gas instead of a diesel because the diesel, even tho it gets far better fuel economy, won’t pay for itself for a long time. There is a business decision that is being made here and on a consumer pickup, fuel economy isn’t as important for most as other features may be. You already have a option for better fuel economy in a diesel version of the same truck and as you know those sell about 30% to gas 70%. Not saying that you are wrong about it being possible, just not practical. This isn’t a case of “if you build it they will come“.
  20. I really can’t believe these comments. If a manufacturer had the ability to make a truck that would blow away the competition in mpg do you really think they would just say, “naw, I don’t want to give the people what they want.” No. I’m not saying a better fuel economy isn’t possible but there has got to be a limiting factor. Its either too expensive and people wouldn’t buy it. Or not been proven to be reliable and they would have too much in warranty repairs. The epa and governmental agencies are breathing down all auto manufacturers necks to improve mpg and to say that they can make it better and just refuse to do it is ridiculous.
  21. My average tank on my 6.0 is 11.2 and it’s mostly in town. I’d say 80% in town. But even on the hwy unloaded I’d be lucky to see 14/14.5 mpg. So 16.7 sounds a lot better.
  22. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2020-chevrolet-silverado-hd-heavy-duty-price-photos-specs/ 5th paragraph: “While the half-ton full-size GM pickups adapted mixed-material construction for 2019 in order to cut weight, the HD Silverado sticks with all steel for its ladder frame and body.” No aluminum. I also heard one of the engineers say it but can’t locate the video right now.
  23. It’s amazing that not a single person at the dealership has any idea about the features of one of the largest volume models chevy sells. Just proves that the consumer has to educate themselves cause the people there to “help” don’t have a f”&$@@$) clue!
  24. I have a 2016 Sierra 3/4 ton with the 6.0. I don’t pull a fifth wheel but do pull a travel trailer that weighs about 9400# when fully loaded. Truck and trailer weigh about 17500 combined when traveling. I’ve traveled about 4000 miles this year with the trailer and I average about 7.5-8 mpg pretty consistently. Love the truck and have not come across anything she couldn’t handle while traveling. Hope this helps!
