  1. Her 2022 absolutely 100% has auto stop start. I have to disable it with the button every time we drive it.
  2. Her old 2018 did, but we had a Superchips tune in it that disabled it. My 2019 LT TrailBoss has DFM and doesn't give any visual indication when it kicks in...
  3. She threw the window sticker out. lol
  4. Tried to scan the QR code from my iPhone and it wouldn't pull up... Hmmm...
  5. Sweet! I will do that this afternoon. Thanks.
  6. Where would I find that code?
  7. I have a 2019 LT TrailBoss and I put the Range box in it to disable DFM... My wife just picked up a new 2022 RST Z71 with the 5.3L and I am wondering if hers has DFM, and if I should disable that to help avoid lifter issues... I am reading that due to chip shortages, some trucks don't have DFM enabled... How do I determine if her truck is one of those?
  8. So... what are those differences? I am sure that is what people are interested in knowing.... This is awesome, either way... although the fact that it probably instantly voids the warranty... That's what gives me pause...
  9. I have the 5.3L 2019 LT TB and just cut out the muffler and the flapper valve, and had a local muffler shop bend and weld in a length of stainless pipe. $200 for parts and labor, sounds awesome. I also did this to my wife's 2018 Z71 Silverado:
  10. You have to remove them from the strut, change the setting, and reinstall it. It's a pain, so set it at the right height the first time, if you can.
  11. Mine still backfires and pops on decel with DFM disabled
  12. I did a muffler delete and when I slow down, using engine braking, I get crackling and popping... I get the same on my motorcycles.... I like it. haha
  13. yeah, we have a lot of stuff like that down here... national forests, fire access roads, some off road parks for trucks and jeeps, etc...
  14. Cool. I just saw the claim of "increased power and torque" and thought maybe it adjusted the tune... only to find out that what it really means is "more power and torque for less push of the gas pedal"... lol In the end it seems like it's just a range box with a pedal commander built in... I already have a Range, so I can't justify roughly $500 just for the throttle adjustment... I can just push the gas pedal more and get the same response.
  15. Yeah, but adding $300 to the price just to adjust the throttle response? Which is really just a gimick... it adds no power... The Range disables start/stop and DFM, and I just click it into Sport Mode when I start the truck...
  16. Good points... Yeah, the biggest thing that I noticed on the trails that I tackled, was the sheer size, the width, the turn radius, etc... I had a 2016 Colorado Z71 that had a 2.5" lift in front and 3" blocks in the back, Bilsteins all around, and larger offroad tires... Might have been Cooper ATP's or something like that, that were larger than stock. It being lifted, air damn removed, metal skid plates and those tires, put it on par with a Tacoma TRD Pro... It was lighter and more agile than the Silverado, but for a guy my size it just did not have the comfort of the Silverado....
  17. NVM, doesn't seem like it does any actual tuning... It just changes the throttle response... Bummer.
  18. https://www.americantrucks.com/superchips-silverado1500-pulsar-lt-inline-control-module-22451.html Their claim: Features: Improves Horsepower, Torque, and Performance With Speedometer Correction for Tire Size and Gear Ratio Changes Dynamic Fuel Management Control Tire Pressure Monitoring System Adjustments Multiple Throttle Sensitivity Levels Made in the USA Designed for All 2019-2021 V8 Silverado 1500 Models It seems like it is a tuner, without actually writing to the ECM? So I guess they took the Range device, and added more functionality to it?
  19. Yup, that's me. I removed my side steps and installed Rock Rails, that use 4 anchor points each side and protect the rocker panel from dings, without taking away ground clearance. I removed the lowed air dam in the front, and upgraded the tires to 33" Goodyear UltraTerrains and 1.25" hub-centric wheel spacers on all 4 weeks to push the tires past the bodywork in the event that I am in a tall rut. I want the tires to act like a bit of a buffer, rather than dragging my bodywork against the side of the rut... Only other mod was a muffler delete and welded in a straight pipe. It's a pretty capable truck stock or with very few mods. The only other thing I might do is upgrade to Bilsteins which will add another 1" of clearance in the front.
  20. I wonder that too. I think in the end that I will probably use the front hitch system that I found and linked to that is rated for 9k lbs, and grab a winch rated for 8,000lbs. For most anything that I am likely to ever need, it should suffice, without having to worry about bending the front end up with a winch that puts way more tension on it than it can handle. Would rather have a winch that in an extreme case, isn't enough and I have to call someone, than to mess up my truck.
  21. Well, I upgraded the tires to GoodYear UltraTerrains, which are very similar to the Duratracs...
  22. It gives you nice control and immediate torque. The one thing I wish this truck had, were front and rear diff lockers that worked with a switch. A couple times I thought I was stuck, but what I had to do was let the tires spin long enough for the rear G80 to lock itself, and then it clawed forward just fine. Would have been nicer to push a button to lock it, so that I didn't have to lose momentum waiting for it to kick in.
  23. BBQ was ok. The place we wanted to hit was Jim's Smokin Que in Blairesville, but we got there too late and they had run out and closed up for the day, so we headed over Blood Mountain and over to JR's Roadkill BBQ and it's pretty solid.
  24. Forgot my new GoPro 9 Black, so had to have my buddy use my cell phone to capture video. It's still rendering up to 4k, YouTube takes forever for that, but I stitched it together and here was some fun from yesterday. This truck constantly impresses me. I think with Bilsteins and another inch up front, it will be perfect.
  25. Hmmm... then that mount won't work... And that's the issue I am facing... If I want something discreet and out of the way, then it limits the pull weight I can accomodate. I can get something heavier duty, but then I have a big ugly contraption stapled to the front of the truck that I will realistically use once a year, and hate looking at it the other 364 days... lol What to do....
