    Viktorrocks15 install is clean! He helped me with my install The total install minus the windshield was around $1700.00 That cost can be brought down a good bit. I think Viktorrocks15 was the first person to do the install. I did my install shortly after Viktorrocks15. The hardest part of pulling the dashboard was deciding to do it. I had maybe 10,000 mile on the truck at the time. If anyone is interested in doing the install and have any questions? You can message me directly. I have some parts that are left over.     Congratulations. I am going to redo my HUD install now. Do you have a part number on the trim ring or tell us what vehicle it is off of?

    Viktorrocks15 Any chance on the new way saving the driver side window defrost piping?

    I would go with Viktorrocks15 way of doing it . He is the one who built the first instrument hood for me. Viktorrocks15 keep me informed on how your project is going I may consider redoing my dashboard. Depending on how your turns out.

    You should be good. When the HUD is installed. It will come in the HUD unit.

    The HUD reflection will show up on the regular windshield. It will be a little blurry and show double information. But it will work. The tint on the lower part of the windshield will solve that problem.

    That is the first guy rookie mistake. I cut the hood for the forward collision alert system. The High Country has a separate wire and light for the forward collision alert. Now I know the HUD will do that. That will not be on the future hoods.

    I finally found someone to work with me on fabricating the Sierra/Silverado instrument hood. The fabricator set up an appointment with me for early next week. I will let you know how it goes

    The G80 in my 2017 will spin both wheels up to about 20 or 25 mph. Then disengage. Then only the passenger side will pull.

    My 2017 has the G80. I can not wait to replace it with a Truetrac.

    I could not find anyone in my area to reproduce the instrument hoods for me. I am going to try and do it myself. I am using one of the instrument hoods I received from Viktorrocks15 as the template. I will update the forum ASAP

    Yes the hood and visor is the same thing. The only reason I referred to it as a instrument hood. That is how it is listed on some of the GM part sites i think if you can get White Auto and Media to get the instrument cluster to work with a diesel. Then I think it will work. The only thing the HUD does is display the information sent to it by the instrument cluster.

    Ok guy I have the visor from Viktorrocks15. I am going to attempt this HUD install tomorrow. I have a guy working on reproducing the HUD hood. I am not looking to make anything off the sale of the hoods. When I here back from the guy working on the mold. I will let you know who he is and I will let you deal directly with him. If this is something you are interested in? Post something on here saying so. Just so I can let him know he may have other customers other than me. I am having mine covered in brown leather to match the rest of my interior.

    The 2019 model has HUD You need to make sure your instrument cluster has the connections in the rear of it for HUD. Contact White Automotive and Media Services. On the website is 2019 instrument cluster . Have them active the HUD. They did my cluster. Easy people to work with. If you have any questions after talk to WA&M. Private message me.     My HUD wire harness just arrived in the mail. It has easy to follow instructions. The pictures along with the instructions makes easy enough to install. Thanks to Viktorrocks15 and pgamboara

    I know in another post on this forum. A guy with a Yukon installed one. Let me know if you find the post with it installed in a Silverado/Serria I have been doing a little home work. I come across this wire diagram of the HUD/SWITCH/INSTRUMENT/FUSE BLOCK/GROUND wiring

    I will give this project my best shot. Does anyone have any information on the HUD wiring I have this post talk about the wires.It does not give me exactly what wire goes where I would prefer not to spend another $342 on a wire harness

    The parts department. They try to work with me but when I say this is a custom install. They just know part numbers. I need a parts guy that has been around a few years. Someone use to doing custom work

    The dashboard in the pictures is not out of my truck. I purchased a used dashboard from a junkyard 2014-18 are the same

    HUD will require a different windshield. BlkSS is checking with the Chevrolet dealership in his area to see if the Yukon/ Tahoe/Suburban or Escalade windshields would work in a Silverado/Serria. The dealerships in my area are not that willing to help with technical information. I guess they are worried about liability risk?
