  1. I replaced my Toyota 4R with a Red Optimal in 2012 and my 2003 Corvette with a Red Optima and have had 0 problems. Since I dont drive the vette a lot, the old batts would drain down a lot,. Both have been great.
  2. The wire that feeds the wireless charger is in a bad spot, runs next to the lid hinge. My hinge chewed through it. Also, the newer phones are incompatible with that old wireless charger, there is a guy that sells the newer units and adapter since the power connector is bad. My opinion, dont screw with it, use the cord to charge. I did the upgrade and the charging is VERY slow.. Not worth it.
  3. I did that and it’s working now. Since the break is near the hinge, there was not a lot of wire to work with, and if it falls behind I’d never get it. I soldered and shrink-wrapped the connections. I am looking at it and thinking of a modification to get it away from the hinge. It is so odd that the sunroof and the sliding rear window ALSO have another fuse (green square slo-blo I think). The F2DL fuse must have popped while I was working with the frayed broken wires leading the to charger. I replaced the charger with the new gm replacement part for the modern iPhones allowing with their adapter harness which connects to the original for the new pinout of the new module.
  4. Fuse #2 fuse box on passenger side front
  5. I found this post searching for a similar problem, I was upgrading the wireless module to the new one for newer iphones. Wires pinch where they enter under the console lid near the hinge from opening and closing the top. I need to replace that now,, where does the OTHER end plug into something. I can repair the wires, too close to the hinge.
  6. I have replaced the existing Qi wireless charging unit with the new one capable of charging the new iphones and adapter cable from GM. I am getting no voltage at the pins to the connector, before I start ripping things apart, does anyone know which fuse controls this device which is mounted on the center console (2016 HC). It doesn't seem to be labelled anywhere, Thanks, Bob
  7. App says I need the recall, website says my VIN not affected. Duh
  8. You say yours was delivered to GM to Canada and the headlight switch will rotate to OFF when NOT in Park? If so, it does not operate as the manual states on page 178
  9. Mine was purchased in Toronto. I guarantee that my truck was initially sold in Canada and the headlight switch operates exactly as the owners manual says. It will not rotate to the off position unless the trunk is in PARK. I can also guarantee the dealer confirmed E85 is not recommended and therefor the yellow sticker is not there. All exactly as the owners manual says. Bob
  10. Friend, Where people get that info is from the Owners Manual. Vehicles sold in CA must not be able to turn the headlights off while the vehicle is moving, so the switch is designed NOT to rotate to the off position in that case. Here is cut/paste from owners manual P 178 "For vehicles first sold in Canada, off will only work when the vehicle is in P (Park)." I never said E85 was illegal, what I said is that the trucks GM exports to CA for some reason cannot use E85. Here is another cut/paste from the owners manual P 324 and is why those trucks are not labelled for E85. (they dont have the yellow E85 badge). Engine must be tuned differently I suppose. "E85 or FlexFuel should meet ASTM Specification D 5798 or CAN/ CGSB–3.512 in Canada. Do not use the fuel if the ethanol content is greater than 85%. Fuel mixtures that do not meet ASTM or CGSB specifications can affect driveability and could cause the malfunction indicator lamp to come on." "Vehicles that have a FlexFuel badge and a yellow fuel cap can use either unleaded gasoline or ethanol fuel containing up to 85% ethanol (E85). See E85 or FlexFuel ." I look forward to your apology. Bob
  11. Correct, this is one of the differences in trucks initially sold into Canada. The round switch to turn OFF the headlights will not rotate to the OFF position while the truck is moving. Otherwise it will rotate to OFF. Canadian safety law. Also, Canadian sold trucks cannot use E85, My 2016 High Country is the same way.
  12. Interesting. Did you try just disabling on the phone temporarily instead (“Hey SIRI, stop Bluetooth”)?
  13. My only issue, unrelated to Carplay but iPhone related I think, is that when I have an incoming phone call, the iPhone rings but the ring doesn't come through the truck speakers. The Mylink screen shows the incoming call and I can answer by pushing the button on the screen and the call proceeds normally via Bluetooth. I do hear the phone ringing, any way to make the ringing come through the truck speakers? Works normally on my 4Runner.
  14. IOS for iphone is now 12.1.3, not sure how you upgraded to 10.3.2?
  15. The part I gave the URL for is for my 2016 High Country. What I want to know is if I can replace the camera without having to re-snake the wire. Is there a plug on the lens end so that I can just swap out the lens which I believe may be the cause of my blurry image. It works fine, except for the blurry image.
  16. Seems I can order the 2016 OEM assembly for about $110 which includes the lens and cable which connects under the bed to a connector. Do you know if the cable plugs into the lens so I can just replace the lens from the kit without fishing the wire? https://www.gmpartsgarage.com/oem-parts/gm-rear-camera-84062896?c=Zz1lbGVjdHJpY2FsJnM9cGFya2luZy1haWQmbD0xJm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHMmYT1jaGV2cm9sZXQmbz1zaWx2ZXJhZG8tMTUwMCZ5PTIwMTYmdD1oaWdoLWNvdW50cnkmZT01LTNsLXY4LWdhcw%3D%3D
  17. My 2016 has always been fuzzy with no 12v accessories plugged in. Even after meticulously cleaning the external lens.
  18. You didnt show the orientation of the diode, can you comment.
  19. Thanks for the reply. The owners manual on for the 2016 on P81 shows this manual switch to disable the airbags for passenger. I guess my High Country trim model doesnt have the option to disable passenger airbag. Not sure I need it, just was looking for it after reading the Owners Manual. Lots of gadgets to digest on the truck, almost to overload point. Wonder how non-tech savvy new owners can even deal with the infotainment system! Thanks, Bob
  20. Excuse my Silverado newbie-ness, what does K2XX mean? My owners manual mentions this is on the passenger dash end-cap. Do not see anything.
  21. I have a 2016 High Country and cannot find the keyslot to disable the front passenger airbag. My truck was initially sold in Canada so I am wondering if it doesnt exist. I have found a few subtle differences so far. Can anyone point out where it might be? Thanks, Bob
  22. Thank you for the reply, I went to test drive a High Country today and took it up to 80mph and it seemed very smooth. Is this a problem that develops over time?
  23. Still looking for a used 2016-2017. Is this vibration problem in every truck or is it just hit & miss? Bob
