  1. gave it a deep clean head to toe and some ceramic coating refresh (Cure) Adams Tire + Rubber cleaner is my new friend, no more shine - clean works for me.
  2. Level kits are very inexpensive, brings that front end up just enough to give the truck a more serious look. Many here have used leveling shocks to accomplish the same, with the added benefit of a better ride. There is a thread here about Bilstein 5100 shocks that has a lot of good input and pics. Definitely take a read thru some of the most popular threads. customwheeloffset.com has a huge gallery too that's interesting to see what others have done. On this forum too.
  3. also those wheels are 0 offset, and I put 6mm wheel spacers to get the wheel to clear the bump on the brakes. so those two things keep that tire a bit further away.
  4. Nope, my wheel and tire setup doesn't come close, and the angles are good - perhaps a byproduct of starting with the GM kit. my goal was to keep this truck as close to factory as possible, that perspective usually wears off after a few months !
  5. So here are my original measurements before and after the GM 2" kit. so it went from 37.5" to 41.25" so overall I'd say about 3" maybe a touch more after adding the new shocks.
  6. here are some pics of where mine sits, hope that helps
  7. Yes, I'm at the 1.1 setting which almost levels the truck. It's pretty hard to tell because the sight lines on the truck are a bit misleading. The difference is noticeable however, and the truck sits up like a level normally provides.
  8. I purchased mine at Summit Racing, after verifying first the right parts on Bilsteins site. The part numbers are different for Trailboss as pewterliftedz noted above. Once you install the GM 2" kit, you've effectively made the truck into a trailboss.
  9. Well it had Ranchos on it already, so there was no noticeable change, the Bilsteins are an improvement for sure.
  10. I had the GM 2" kit installed at the dealer on my 6.2L and then upgraded the shocks to the Bilsteins (see my post above). As far as warranty, typically unless the modification is the direct cause of a failure, you're good. Also depends on the relationship with your dealer in my experience, and how much your modification impacts things. In this case, changing shocks isn't really a big deal, unless you do something that dramatically alters setup. if your dealer hates any kinds of modifications, stay clear of them
  11. I did the adjustable 5100s on my 6.2, gain was about 1" using the 1.1 setting. I would not do the block, but it all depends on your preference, the Bilsteins improve overall ride performance for sure.
  12. hey thanks for posting this, ordered up a switch and installed it today in the same spot. Totally worth the $40 to have some manual control and the switch looks like a pro installed it
  13. Looking sharp! The wheels you picked are a excellent match to the truck, great choice.
  14. You could slide them back a few inches, which might be enough for a quick grab in the back
  15. My lab is so goofy she can never decide if she should jump down from the floor or the seat. She has to try each surface 5 times before she can get out.
  16. Went for a ride...leaves are getting close to peak color
  17. The XL models hang 3” lower for lifted trucks. The Xtreme version has 4 motors.
  18. I installed the AMP Xtreme (dual motors for harsh environments) and really like them so far. The step is wide, and ultra grippy. My garage with both vehicles inside is pretty tight, so it’s great having these steps out of the way. They do make a kick butt robotic sound too, so that’s fun. Definitely gets some double takes when they retract as you’re walking away from the truck. I will say they are super solid, way more solid than I thought.
  19. I think you gotta go with a darker wheel, but a combo with accents for sure like the above, but go bolder. Or go pure stormtrooper and do white with some black edges! Umm no don’t do that. I’m contemplating the move from 33” grapplers to 35 as well, which is making me want to change wheels too and go big chrome snowflakes which I never thought I’d do. Maybe not.
  20. The amp LEDs don’t have a brightness rating, but I think I’d swap them even if they were bright. Peel and stick is ok in some spots, but that area gets blasted with snow and ice, so I didn’t want to swap them out mid winter. The lux lighting system https://luxlightingsystems.com are crazy bright, the magnetic mount and sealed fixture are well made. Time will tell of course.
  21. Selling a brand new, never mounted set of Silverado Sport Steps GM part #84742421 (new coating style). I didn't like the finish on the ones that came with my High Country, so I installed some AMPs but the dealer had already purchased these new ones. End result I have these new in-box ones as well. NOTE - This is the updated version that has a hardened coating, that is rough to the touch and significantly more durable. The box is pretty heavy so regional drop off/pick is preferred, I'm willing to meet you half way. Dealer price is anywhere between 799-899, online the cheapest I could find was 725 before shipping. I want them out of the garage, so the first $500 takes them. My zip code is 14075, Buffalo, NY area - I'm up for a short road trip to meet up for delivery. My zip code is 14075, Buffalo, NY area - I'm up for a short road trip to deliver them or meet you someplace with a hour or so drive.
  22. Installed some AMP Xtreme powersteps, was pretty easy. There are plenty of videos on YouTube, so I didn’t take a bunch of install pics,. I didn’t use the AMP led lights, I didn’t like the peel and stick and they weren’t that bright, instead I used LED modules from LuxLighting. They use super strong magnets, to attach the led module, which also acts as the heat sink. I really like their design, and it was easy to swap out. The Xtreme version of these steps is pricey, with dual motors on both sides it seems like it will be tough enough to handle the winter here in WNY. The steps are super grippy, will be interesting to see if ice gets frozen in the channels.
  23. Made a mini center chinrest for the dog ! she loves to stick her head out the "nose portal" when we go for rides, but every bump hits her in the chin with the window frame edge. Can't let that happen to mans best friend. Ordered up a spare center headrest and took it apart, cut down the foam, put a slot in it for the car seat anchor and then a little pleather cutting and sewing. Pretty happy with the outcome, just enough to cover up that anchor and give the furry beast a chin rest.
