  1. I have the OPT7 led bar in red. I bought the Curt adapter, but opted for the 5 pin plug instead of the 4 pin. Then I took an old trailer plug - male end, and cut one connector off. I connected that to the reverse wire. Then I plugged it all into the 5 pin plug. Didn't have to tap in to the reverse wire anywhere.
  2. Yes, I have had that problem. The original one came off one time. I put it back and then one day I went to fill up and it was gone. I went to the local parts shop and bought a package of the same clips and put a new one in. Been fine ever since.
  3. You can open and close the tailgate with the cover closed. The only issue would be the weatherstrip on the rear panel would be tucked in instead of laying across the top of the tailgate. There could be a water intrusion issue then. The FAC should fit on the Denali with the factory bedliner. The FAC rails sit on top of the bed rails.
  4. My FAC G4 does that. I don't know why. I just lift up the cover and it then falls into place. I just got a new FAC G4 that the insurance replaced the previous one due to hail damage. It did the same thing. Other than that the cover has been great.
  5. I bought my FAC in 2014, so the integrated lock was not available. I did not know that they added that feature. If it were available and optional, I probably wouldn't use it as the tailgate does lock too. I'm not too keen about brackets on the tailgate as they tend to get in the way when loading and unloading bulky items. You have to constantly lift the item over the bracket or else it tears into it or rips the bracket off. I always leave the rear seal flipped outwards. Seems to me to be less of a chance of water getting in. If you're not having any issues with it curled in, I wouldn't change what you're doing.
  6. You do not have to raise the raise the cover to open the tail gate. I have the FAC and I can open my tail gate with no issues. I can close the tail gate without raising the cover, but then the weather stripping is pushed in so I have to raise the cover slightly to get it to flip out.
  7. FWIW, I saw this on the BAK website: "All BAK hard folding tonneau covers ensure a superior fit, function and operation and our patented NO PROFILE, rather than just low profile fit ensures better aerodynamics and improved gas mileage".
  8. I got mine at the Fold-a-Cover Factory store.http://www.foldacoverfactorystore.com/ They are currently running a special right now - $140 off MSRP. You can get it for $820 sale price and free shipping. I think I paid just under that because they were running a xmas special. with a $25 coupon. Try GMFS14FAC at checkout to receive $25.00 off the order of a brand new tonneau cover or Cover/Caddy bundle
  9. LOL. My brother shopped at about every GM dealer in STL and ended up buying from Laura GMC in Collinsville. Seems like they are straight-shooters. He said that they came out with the pricing sheet and showed where the price they were asking was below invoice, supplier, employee, etc. And they gave him what he was wanting on his trade-in. He ended up with a blk on blk 2014 GMC Denali 4wd. I think his deal was better than the one I got for my 14 Silverado LTZ Z71. If you want to stay on the STL side of the river, try Fusz, Bommarito, Sinclair, just to name a few.
  10. have you seen this on the camaro5 forum? http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=315327

  12. I had my Line-X sprayed in yesterday morning. Then I installed my Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite. Install was fairly easy, I took my time doing it. Had to make adjustments on the latches but that was expected. So far so good.
  13. Let's see.... Today, I went to Line-X and got the bed sprayed. Then I installed my Fold-a-Cover tonneau. Then installed my GM led cargo bed lights. Tomorrow I'm going to change the oil - only have about 1200 miles, but like to get rid of the break-in junk. Plus Advanced Auto Parts has a BOGO on Mobil 1 Super Synthetic - getting 10 quarts for $37 w/ tax. Will pick it up at the store tomorrow.
  14. I pulled mine out a couple of weeks ago to install silverstar bulbs. I am trying to recall. I think there are a couple of 7mm screws you need to remove. Pull the air tube off. There are two plugs that go into grommets, you just pull up to pop them lose. There is a built in drain tube on the bottom of the air box that slides into a slot in the supporting tray. Once you have the box popped out of the grommets, you will need to wiggle/slide the air box toward the driver's side and it should come up.
  15. I found out today that the GM branded tri-fold hard cover is made by Advantage. http://www.advantagetruckaccessories.com I looked them up and it appears to be their "Hard Hat" model. Didn't see any prices on their site but you can find out some of their online dealers and check out those prices.
  16. GM also sells their own branded hard cover tri-folds. See part nbr: 22834743
  17. No - the GM cover is not the same. The GM cover is a tri-fold where as the Fold-a-Cover has 4 panels.
  18. To those that have the GM hard folding tonneau on your '14, could you provide some pics of it. I am curious as to if it covers the new hand hold stake pocket. Thanks.
  19. Correction: The GM tonneau cover is a tri-fold. The fold-a-cover is a 4 panel cover. I saw a youtube video showing how the GM cover is installed and operates on a NNBS truck. The rails are a part of the cover so as you fold the cover up, the rails go with it. It looks like a quick installation as the clamps are built in the rails. Looks pretty good. But I like the fold-a-cover for the front of the bed access. I think I am going to lean that way when I get ready to buy. But ChevyParts.com has the GM for $609 which is influencing me that way. That and bearman95's review. Decisions, decisions....
  20. Thanks for sharing your review. I am thinking of the Fold-a-Cover for my '14 also. I have seen the different videos too. One thing I can't tell from them is the stake pocket holes. Since the rails mount in the stake pockets, are all the pockets totally covered? I suppose you could opent the back panel and then have access to the hand-hold pocket for using the step in the bumper.
  21. I was at my dealer this evening to pick up my new Black LTZ Z71. While waiting I sat in a LT Z71 that was on the show room floor. I turned on the radio to FM and switched to different stations. Reception was awful. When my salesman walked up I let him listen to the static, and the truck is next to windows. So when I got my truck to check over after the PDI, first thing I did was tune the radio to different FM stations. All clear. So it's a hit or miss deal.
  22. I have this same tool. Works great on my '07 Silvy and '12 Traverse.
  23. A total PITA!! GM should come up with a more user-friendly way of doing this. The trick is to let air out for the first 5 seconds and then wait 30 seconds for the horn to beep. It may take several attempts at getting all of your sensors reset.
  24. No - they are stealing the copper lines that we use to connect to the internet.
  25. Welcome to the group! Glad to see a fellow Missourian post. Where are you located at the LOZ? I have a house on the 36MM. I just bought a Cobalt 262 to keep my Triton TR186 company on the dock. Crazy weather. Snow on Sunday - 70 degrees on Wed. Overall this is a very friendly forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this board. I think there are quite a few Missourian on here, they just don't post very much. Glad you like your TB.
