  1. Has anyone found an oil filter socket that goes on a ratchet? None of the Harbor Freight assortment fits the wix up filter I use. Best I've come up with is a strap wrench.
  2. Has the head been off fir work? The ground on the back of the driver's side head can cause some of those messages.
  3. Indeed. Voltage was good, but only put out 200 cranking amps.
  4. Anyone have a general idea what a "normal" current draw on the battery would be shut off? After a few minutes the draw is going down to .38 amps (380ma) same wether I lock the doors with the key fob or I don't. The battery is over 4 years old, so I ordered a new one. After 3 days or so of sitting the battery would be dead. Now is happening after being on the charger over night, make 2 stops, after the second stop it BARELY had enough juice to start. I've pulled every single fuse from all 3 fuse boxes and found no smoking gun.
  5. For anyone with this problem: If the drivers side head has been off. Check the ground on the back of the head.
  6. I am also interested. I saw in the forums some may have already done this, but there was an issue with flickering when done wrong. I want to add it to a 2017. The dome light they use with a sunroof sucks. I also want yo add it for the back. I figure probably mounted on the under seat storage box.
  7. It was 13mm, I could only get to it from underneath. Seems to have solved the hood open message. I could no longer get the message by using the window switches.
  8. How did you tighten the bolt in the head? Hennessey had the heads off when they were installing the cam and supercharger. The ground is loose for sure. Thinking about trying from underneath.
  9. Drivers side, bottom of windshield. Under the dash trim on the top.
  10. Any idea where G218 is located?
  11. As I recall, the 2 piece part number was superceeded by the 1 piece part number. its probably been about a year since i did mine on my 8 speed.
  12. With the diagnostic tool I watch the hood status. It never changes. If I pull up only 1 of the back windows switches, I get stability ak47u message. Oddly enough sometimes when I pull up both back window switches the engine idle drops.
  13. I can get it to say hood open by pulling up the 2 back window switches. Also seems to happen on a tight turn into a parking spot. I replaced the hood latch assy already.
  14. Thank you Sir. I figured it might still have an electric pump. At work watching videos on the tank. Need to empty the tank , I believe I got some bad gas.
  15. My 2017 6.2L i know has a fuel pump on top of the engine, driven by the cam. Did they still use an electric pump in the tank as well?
  16. I have a 207 Silverado LTZ Z71. I keep getting Hood Open warnings. I replaced the hood latch. The odd thing is, if I pull up 2 of the window buttons I will get hood open. Also pulling into a parking spot a tight turn of the steering wheel makes it say hood open. I have seen the occasional steering angle sensor code stored in the troublecodes. Could these be related?
  17. In my box of parts, I find no insulator. This is off a 2017 with 6.2L I bought new. I have the intake, cam, lifters and an aerodynamic shield from the bottom probably due to aftermarket cat back exhaust.
  18. This weekend I will look at the stuff Hennessey took off my truck. I'll let you know if it had an insulator.
  19. Had Hennessey Performance do the Whipple on the 6.2. Flex fuel AND Supercharger will require injectors. You forgot cam and better head gaskets. Definitely good daily driver no issues. But gas milage dropped from 17 to 14 in the city and from 24 to 17 on the highway. But no risk of lifter failure.
  20. The repair costs about 200 with fluid. The dealer quoted some stupid g High price, so I did it myself. It's probably not good to keep driving this way. The temp is used to determine shift points and pressures. There was more clutch material in the fluid than I would have liked.
  21. Todd, did you manage to save the defroster?
  22. Yes it is possible to tune an 8L90. You have to send the Transmission Control Module to HP Tuners to be physically modified. Then you need extra credits to tune the TCM. I have found several places that will build an 8L90 to take 1,000 Horse power. My stock 2017 6.2/8l90 was not sluggish. But maybe you should get a ZO6? That being said, I sent my 2017 to Hennessey Performance. It's way more fun. After 2 years I have not hurt the 8L90 yet with 650HP and 658 ft/lbs torque.
  23. I am unsure about a 3rd fob but You need a diagnostic type computer. Or a dealer or lock smith that has one. I have not done this on my 2017, but on my 2003 I programmed a new FOB to the truck. I have an Autel MP808 it's too pricey just to program a Fob.
  24. We're you throwing any codes? Negative values in long term fuel tables? I have a Hennessey Performance Goliath 650 the oil smells like gasoline. Could be normal for forced Induction but still worried about my engine.
