  1. I can’t be the only guy wondering if you can just tune the egr and def systems from working? Why does the egr system have to be removed? Imagine the valve would just remain closed. leave everything in tact but remove entire dpf system. is there really no way of accomplishing this with a tuner even now?
  2. Had not made the correlation until doing some googling. Noise started almost immediately after application of fluid film undercoating. began reading that leaf springs should never be lubricated. then after degreasing, there is still some noise, I am trying to figure out if there are any other suspension items that could pop or creak from lubrication.
  3. Did not realize fluid film would cause the leaf springs to be so noisy. I’ve degreased and cleaned springs and bushings pretty well, but they are still super loud on small bumps going slow or turning. im wondering what other components, in front end as well could be causing a sort of popping or clunking sound in front end. I know the rear end is noisy now, but it almost sounds like front end popping at slow speeds as well.. weird issue but any one else have this? Or any body have any ideas?
  4. Interesting, haven’t looked into it but the oil seems to be 10+ quarts on L5p no?
  5. Thank you for reply, very informative..assuming those injectors are under warranty to 100k? On longer trips, wondering now if worth having one or two in truck is not a bad idea especially if backordered?
  6. How’d it go?
  7. Speaking of fuel tank too small for towing on 1500, if there’s no option for bigger tank, looking into the auxiliary in the bed with 12v valve. Anyone done this yet?
  8. Na just plugged and play
  9. Interested as well. Can’t believe there isn’t a bigger tank aftermarket availabke
  10. Buy the module and do it yourself. $50
  11. Sounds like a lot of guys real frustrated with this issue. I’ve given up on dealers. buy the part off eBay and replace yourself. Two screws and one clip….. very very easy
  12. Thanks for reply. What’s the math on your tow capacity on the door jamb?
  13. Trailer is about 7000 lbs unloaded. So it’s pushing the limit when loaded. I’ve driven them before and know how the truck will handle, mileage etc. Just really wondering how the power train, suspension and brakes will hold up. Lifter failure etc. Kind of a broad question. the real answer I’m looking for is someone who’s towed 7-8k pounds for many miles trouble free, OR done so and had serious issues
  14. Posted this in 2014+ forum as well for longer term answer and will ask here as well… Looking into a travel trailer buts it’s near the upper end of the capacity of the truck posting here because I’d like to see how many guys are doing a significant amount of towing with their 5.3 or 6.2 at the upper end of the capacity and if there have been any failures or issues with doing so. of course I know that you shouldn’t go over the GCWR and should probably stay 25% under. But my question is strictly related to how drivetrains and engines have fared after a good amount of miles towing heavy on the gassers? thank you

  16. I thought the same thing. The tranny fill very technical. After taking to the tech who did it, sounded similar to any other drain and fill. Fill to top hole..
  17. Well problem solved. Thank god for this guy- https://rumble.com/vrqhad-p0498-2019-sierra-silverado-1500-evap-vent-solenoid-dtc-obd-obdii.html bought a new fuel pump control module. Truck running much smoother as well, it may have to do with the fuel tank being over or under pressurized with vent solenoid not working? Could be wrong but the truck is running noticeably smoother this morning. part no:13540028
  18. I pulled out my camshaft after driving countless miles. Ran very rough for months. when all said and done one lifter had catastrophically failed, and three others had begun to( some pitting on cam lobe). this was not a gm but the truck will run, albeit very rough. You’re also spreading fine metal participles through motor. Don’t recommend, but technically the truck can run even if a cylinder is misfiring we rebuilt and motor ran very strong, didn’t notice any issues after with oil pressure etc….
  19. Think I have the same thing. Comes and goes. It’s not as hard at the 8 speed bang but I hear something. Have a lot of miles on mine and no issues. Just comes and goes sometimes. Always when downshifting
  20. Thanks, I’ve read everything I can find and all pointed to wiring or solenoid. keep digging and found a video on rumble in which a 2019 sierra had a bad fuel pump power control module. The fuel pump module is what sends voltage to solenoid. Found one on eBay since it’s out of stock everywhere. sort of throwing parts at this one.. when it arrives we will see
  21. Having a code p0499 and now PO 498 pop up. The code seems to in the past have indicated a clogged or dirty evap solenoid filter material, but can’t find any info on newer models. changed evap solenoid gm part # 84148817. Code is still showing after cleaning check engine light. Any gm mechanic on here who can take a stab at it? Trucks out of warranty and the dealer can’t even look at it for a week..:
  22. Stupid question but are you just hearing the new sound of the S&b? It makes a weird deep growl when lightly accelerating while cruising
  23. Interested in this as well… anybody?
  24. Try the “spring things”. Had same issue, went crazy looking. Sound is likely leaf springs
  25. Just snug it down and keep an eye for any leak. You’ll smell or see it… not a huge deal
