  1. This is a known problem. I had mine in for the exact same problem with exhaust smell in the cab. Only when cold a few seconds after startup. The dealer did a leak test on the exhaust and diagnosed it as a bad def injector and clamp. It took a month to get the parts on backorder. Just had mine finally fixed last Friday. I would press the dealer on this problem. It is not good to be breathing exhaust and carbon monoxide in the cab. Now, getting a burning smell around the time the engine does a def regeneration is normal, especially for the first few thousand miles. However, the exhaust smell at cold startup is definitely not the def regeneration.
  2. Not sure if you have dogs, but the neoprene seat covers are a hair magnet and hard to get it off. I got the cover king rhinohide covers and absolutely love them. Super durable and fit great.
  3. I have the Elevation with the factory AT4 kit. 20 inch factory wheels and tire size 275/60-20. Approximately 1 inch clearance between the tire and UCA. I added the UCAs after I installed the level because I got nervous reading the stories of premature failure of the stock UCAs due to the additional stress from the AT4 lift plus level. I went with the RC because I liked them better and I think they were less expensive.
  4. I installed the zone offroad 1.75" with the rough country forged UCAs. No problems whatsoever with the diesel.
  5. Probably because there were so many DUIs in the 80s and 90s involving S10s. The other models just haven't caught up yet! Haha! I loved my S10!
  6. I thought the trailer brake came standard with the 3.0?
  7. Wow, I wish I knew about these before I dropped $400 on the newer version. Killer deal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184284279832
  8. Are you sure those are RC UCAs? They don't look like the RC UCAs I installed on mine? https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-forged-aluminum-upper-control-arms-29501.html?find=2020-gmc-sierra-1500-4wd-740563
  9. AVS Aeroskin Lightshield. Here is a thread on it.
  10. Not sure exactly, but you can search this site for a discussion on this. I believe it is approx 200 lbs. Just make sure you read the fine print on the lift struts. I correct my previous post, I tried the rough country 3.5 lifted struts, not the Rancho.
  11. FYI, if you decide on the Rancho 3 inch kit, don't upgrade to the 3" lifted struts. They are not designed for the extra weight of the 3.0 and you will only get 1.5" of lift out of the 3. Lesson learned, I have a brand new set of the lifted struts in my garage.
  12. Wow, that seems like a killer deal. I'd say go for it. The 3.0 and 10 speed are a great combo. I've had some minor warranty work on my 3.0, but I love it.
  13. I wouldn't wait too long. Something is not right. You should be getting mpg in the mid 20s around town. Plus, parts on these engines seem to be low in inventory. I've had two parts on backorder over the last month.
  14. Yep, I had this a few weeks ago. My issue was a bad def injector. Took a while to get it as it was on backorder. The dealer eventually got one and replaced it. After replacement, I immediately got exhaust fumes in the cab. I took it back and they diagnosed it as a bad exhaust clamp. They probably jacked it up while replacng the def Injector because I never had this prior. Now, the exhaust clamp is on backorder. Ugh. Based on your photo, looks like you've got a def leak that is spraying out.
  15. Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT. Only sold at Discount Tire I think.
  16. They are not a smooth as the Bridgestone alenza's, but they ride nice and are quiet for a more aggressive all terrain. This is my 2nd set. I had them on a Nissan Titan. They wear nice also.
  17. Fyi, GMC accessories is offering their holiday discounts if you are interested in getting the oem wheels. Here is the info on the offer: GET20-Receive 20% below MSRP with online accessories purchase of $250 or more Valid through 01/05/2021 Valid on orders totaling more than $250
  18. Your truck looks awesome! IMO, the Elevation trim is the best looking GMC 1500.
  19. Thanks! These are oem. They are pricey from GM, but you may be able to find them on eBay, https://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/ or https://www.rpmtakeoffs.com/ I added the Goodyear Ultraterrains which are only sold at discount tire.
  20. Hi all, I had my truck in for service to replace a bad def injector. Ever since this repair I am getting a burning smell in the cab. Especially when I first run the truck and when the heater is on. It lasts for a while but comes back every time I drive it or restart it. I can't see anything visible under the hood. I had hoped it would eventually go away, but it hasn't after 500 miles. It never did this before the def injector was replaced. I have 9,000 miles on the truck. Is it possible they didn't install/seal it correctly and I'm getting exhaust leak into the cab? Any advice is much appreciated.
