  1. @newdude. So are you stating that it’s more of a DFM issue, bad lifter issue, both? Looks like you are a mechanics and my father has recently retired so no more free work shop space!! Im just asking because my stepdad bought his 2020 Sierra SLT, loves it but has put 40k miles on it in little over a year and he is thinking of trading it in. I converted him over to GM after Ford for years. I don’t want him to trade and then have to worry about lifter failure. He can get excellent money on his trade in now and upgrade to a Denali instead of a SLT for the money. I’ve told him to wait another year and get the new refresh but who knows when will that appear on lots and will they still have issues. my 2019 and his 2020 have been flawless. Neighbor has 2020 LT and his has been great as well. My boss has 2020 LT no issues with his either or 8 speed tranny. thanks for any info.
  2. The tips make the exhaust note just a bit deeper because it funnels it back further instead of spreading out more with the factory tips. When I got my Corsa full Catback I used the factory tips. I like them, but I wish Corsa made their own but they don’t. If I were you. I’d get the tips and make it look a-little different. I’m still researching to find a nice pair of chrome ones without any lettering/badging on them to match my exhaust. Good luck.
  3. I'm totally opposite. I prefer chrome!! I love it when its all clean and the sunlight reflects off of it!! Especially chrome wheels rolling along down the road. I can't stand the all blacked out look. Looks cheap to me. Now chrome and black mixed in is ok. My wheels are both, but I prefer all chrome. My next set of wheels will be a set of 22 or 24 inch chrome snowflake, then leave the ones I have now as winter tires. Just stinks here in Midwest during winter, chrome wheels don't hold up at all because of all the "junk" they put on the roads.
  4. @KARNUT…..you were probably in love with the late 80s and 90s GM 4.3L and 3.8L engines. I know I was!! Either by turbos and superchargers. They were just good old fashioned pushrod engines. No cylinder deactivation or other “gremlins” to mess up the engine. My moms 2001 Impala averaged over 30 mpgs running 65 down the highway to her work all day long. Now when you pushed it harder it was mid 20s but that was because of the 4 speed transmission hindered it.
  5. I agree, and Oh yes the indestructible 3800!! Well not really but man those engines could run. Went through 3 of them on my side of family and father in law owns trucking business and he went through 2 himself. Well over 300k. Non with superchargers though. I remember my sophomore year in high school Pontiac released the wide body 97 Grand Prix. Then year later came out with the supercharged GTP. Sexy car and fast for those times. They had no problem beating GT mustangs back then.
  6. Ya, I know but the cost is what has “per say” kept me from doing it. The last I checked Hennessey was some where in park of an extra $30k. Heck that’s a nicely used Camaro SS. My friend who owns all the superchargers in Yankton, SD told me a doctor up there had an Cadillac Escalade done by Hennessey. I think he was bragging that he paid over $127k for it to be all done. This was around 2015 and it was a short Escalade not the long wheelbase. I thought price was outrageous.
  7. True…..yet I had heard from a few GM guys before this past “election” that depending on who got in the supercharged truck were on the table. The pandemic hasn’t helped especially with chip shortage on all the other “bull$h!t that has gone on. I truly believe they are waiting for this to settle all down and 2024 they will bring them out. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. No auto maker makes a full lineup of supercharged SUVs and trucks. Yes Ram makes 1 truck, Ford has the Shelby, but no one has a full lineup. It’s there for The taking if GM would just pull the trigger. the EV power is great but WE as a society are years away from actually using them as just more than urban commuters. Plus surplus is very low her in Iowa. Ya know it is fun talking about it and “dreaming”. Lol.
  8. Lol. The more the better, realistically 755 HP is already been achieved and was a beast in the ZR1 Corvette. It’s proven, reliable, been through all the development stages/R&D, and is right their in GMs portfolio. Kinda cost effective if you think of it.
  9. I totally agree! My best friend and son’s godfather has a LS3 supercharged Avalanche, a fully built LSA ZL1, a Supercharged Range Rover, and supercharged Kawasaki jet ski. Everything he owns and has owned has been/ is basically supercharged. They have ran flawless for him except the 03 Denali with the older style Whipple. It had bearing issues with it 2 times. The newer ones have been great.
  10. Yes power is very nice, just not feasible for me here in Midwest. Not enough surplus and driving range. I prefer the Blue RST with 24s on it than the Trailboss....way to much cheap Avalanche looking plastic on it.
  11. Yes, 668HP is nice, but let's just skip the nonsense and put the LT5 into all of them and get 755HP!! We both know that sounds so much more enticing!!! Claiming 755HP with a Corvette ZR1 motor would most definitely get people into the dealerships and looking at them, if not signing their names on the lines.
  12. The advantage I see is that if GM does do this, its set-up the right way from factory, plus it has a warranty with it. From what I have read, the new 10 speed is still unlockable/can't be reprogrammed yet?? Don't quote me, but if/when it comes from factory, all of those little gremlins are taken care of by GM.
  13. Could we FINALLY get our supercharged V8's from GM? Will it be just SUV excluded, or maybe just Cadillac excluded? I would love to see this happen across the suv and truck lineup. Here is the article https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/01/cadillac-escalade-v-accelerates-sounds-like-a-beast-with-lt4-v8-power-video/
  14. I won't be buying that monstrosity! The V8 powered ZR2 looks absolutely gorgeous compared to that!! And I'm not a lifted truck guy!
  15. I woke up this morning and noticed my AVS Aeroskin was cracked down the center. Contacted AVS customer service, they asked for purchase date, I sent it over and as of 11:02 central standard time they are warranting it and sending me a new one. Excellent company!! Now the real pain is going to be taking it off and getting all the 2 sided tape off of the truck, then reapplying....at least it will look new again.
  16. It looks absolutely hideous!
  17. This order: New OEM rims---traded them out right AVS Aeroskin Hood Protector Tonneau Cover Window Tint all around Corsa Exhaust S&B Intake GM Interior Trim Kit High Country already came with GM All Weather Floor Mats--Front/back, center console tray organizer, running boards
  18. The one thing that you “must” realize is that the high country is engraved on the front of the grill. It’s on the drivers side in the chrome area just right of the headlight. Otherwise that grill will swap out. If a high country is now $75k. That’s insane. I paid $60k. I know it’s still ridiculous but $15k more. FJB!!! here is a pic.
  19. The black bear cold air induction testing was done on the K2 trucks and does prove that CAI work! I’ve said this as well. You will always have “certain people” who will argue till their black and blue with you, but they are a very reliable performance shop. I found the data very interesting. I wish S&B would have had a unit available for them ti test. They make great products. The main difference from my 2018 (K2) Sierra was the CAI system was on the passenger side. My 2019 (T1) High Country the CAI is on the drivers side. And yes their is extra air coming in from the frontal grill area ductwork to the fender area and CAI assembly.
  20. Hey anytime. Hopefully they can get it taken care of for you and you enjoy your truck the way it was intended! Take care
  21. You are correct! GM Authority talked about this a few weeks ago Here is the articles https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/12/2022-gmc-sierra-turbo-2-7l-engines-torque-peak-could-be-even-higher/ https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/12/2022-chevy-silverado-turbo-2-7l-engines-torque-peak-could-be-even-higher/
  22. Like I said I'll take my V8 please!! https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/01/c8-corvette-stingray-drag-races-ford-mustang-mach-e-gt-video/
  23. You know I can debate all day long, but your ignorance on the boyfriend thing is so childish and just shows you belong with the SJW's of this woke society. Move along!
  24. So you can’t debate and go to insults, fine I’ll play…ok first off I’m married to my high school sweetheart who has given me a beautiful boy and a girl. I have worked my tail off and have 2 masters degrees that I have paid for MYSELF! Secondly, I use my truck to haul my boat to my cabin, my side by sides to the black hills, and my family around to sporting events and family events. “Not my boyfriend “, which is quite ignorant!! But I wouldn’t expect anything more from this so called debate…… Third, For like the tenth time, THIS ISNT CALIFORNIA OR TEXAS YOU IGNORANT LITTLE CHILD!! If you had read for comprehension. I live in Iowa and EV charging ports are not available like they are in the LiBtard big cities!! Also, how well do you think these EVs will hold up in the cold?? It’s -27 degrees this morning Ya like all batteries. Cold drains them!! Fourth, your comparison is yes, childish/stupid because you have a car half the weight of the TRX. I atleast kept it truck to truck. You always have to take into account depreciation! Your ignorant so I understand why you don’t. And after 8+ years and that battery is wearing down, you’ll probably spend somewhere like $10k-$20k to replace the batteries??? When a combustion engine would be anywhere to 1/2 or 1/4 of that price……ya. Way to think that over!!!! You might have to whine/beg to someone to give you another loan to replace your batteries!!! Fifth, we haven’t even gone into your electric bill at your house going up. Thanks to your wonderful “president” inflation is skyrocketing and electric bills are going through the roof. What do you thinks gonna happen when you have to plug it in all the time Sixth, I’m far from retirement, I’m 40 years old and enjoying life…..seems to me you bit off more than you can chew little pup, and need to get out and enjoy your life instead of being a little keyboard warrior! I’m off to work. Have a fantastic day, do something productive, and always, always enjoy life!!! It’s priceless.
