  1. Hello Everyone! Need advice..... Which color wheels would look Elegant on a 2019 GMC sierra SLT crew cab? It has the factory 20" polished wheels. I removed the ,sierra,GMC,SLT badges. I am going to wrap the bumpers, part of the front grill, door handles, mirror caps and the Texas Edition front fender emblems in black. I am also having the plastic fender trim painted black. For now I want a two inch drop on rear. I want to go with 22"×9" wheels all around. I like the polish look on the current 20". I want the truck to look Classy! I was thinking of white Wheels. I have plans to customize the truck by this summer but for now I don't want to mess with the suspension since I want to be able to drive my truck. Any thoughts on white wheels on a black truck? Thanks
  2. What if?? If i think how you do, i would stay home in a fetal position and starve
  3. I understand everyone's concern about driving at that high speed.... I am a safe driver with a Skill to drive... It's not how fast you go but how you control your speed... At 22 years old i got a job that required me to drive from 6 hrs up to 19. Today at the age of 48 i have a lot of drive time.... Have seen a lot and have been lucky from accidents but i never do anything that i am not Sure i can do... So if i need to floor it to keep moving , it will get done. Its a skill!! I drive 4 mph over a speed limit but i am not following a convoy at 50 for 30 minutes. Just saying!!!
  4. That's was one of my thoughts.... My truck sometimes shows a "Systems Upgrade"! With today's vehicles the manufacturer probably know when a fart is discharged inside leading to a "Check Cabin Filter"
  5. The truck came from factory 20" wheels on 275/60/R 20 Bridgestone Alanza tires. 800 miles ago I replaced all 4 tires with same size, brand tires( except the new tires are Alanza Plus) which are rated for higher speeds which that was not the reason I went with the plus tires. I got those because of the 80k warranty they have and work very well on wet conditions. OnStar? Might need to look into that! Thanks for your feedback By the way guys, I have a track car and a 9 sec quarter car so do not think I want to make my truck fast especially a crew cab. Thanks
  6. I got you! I mean I don't drive crazy but being on the road for many years now, sometimes I Need that extra push. I also understand that pickup trucks are not built for high speeds (driveshaft might give out) but sometimes in my experience I have to floor it!. It boggles me because like I said, for the first year it did 105 all stock. Now it went down to 98. I have CAI, catch can and a magnaflow muffler. Not looking to tune it, its my highway driver. Thanks for your feedback
  7. In Texas we have those two lane roads ( better built than a lot of highways) with passing lanes every 4 miles. No cows, goats etc. Oh! I think a $5 pair of balls will probably fit you small! I will send you $10. Originally I asked a question to see if anyone had had this same issue so if you don't have good feedback , keep it shut and Keep strolling! Good Day!!
  8. The idiot is the one doing 65 on a 75 holding back two semies , a minivan and a SUV on a two lane country road. You must be the Idiot who does this same crap!!! Give me your address so I can send you $5 so you can get a pair!!!
  9. It has the factory size tires and wheels!
  10. The thing is that this truck went down on the limited from 105 to 98. From 98 to 105 is a big difference especially when passing.
  11. Hello, I have a 2019 GMC sierra 1500 SLT 5.3l. When I bought the truck would go up to 105 mph. After a while the truck hits only 98mph. Does anyone know how this happened?
  12. Got it! Well after installing the CAI and catch can, no lights came on until 2 days of running my truck. I disconnected the negative on battery and it took about 40 miles before the light came back on. I have read that in some cases the vehicle needs to run from 70 to 100 miles so that the computer can relearn. I have not driven the truck 70 at one time. Maybe that's what I need to do
  13. I put a breather on the passenger side and capped the fitting on the tube. I did this because I didn't want the intake tube to suck any fumes. I have done the same process on other vehicles with no issues. I did it on my 2021 camaro ss and no check engine light came on.
  14. I have a 2019 GMC sierra SLT 5.3. After installing a k/n 63 series cold air intake and a j&l 3.0 catch can, the truck is running lean. I capped the fitting on the tube and put a breather on the passenger pcv . In other words, I deleted the hose from the passenger side valve cover going to the intake tube. Check engine light came on, so I used a code reader and it shows the truck is running lean. Do anyone have an idea what is causing this code? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks
  15. Change them.Clean your intake, throttle body and run a full tank of the highest octane gas available. This would do good to your engine.
  16. New on here, I bought a 2009 5.3 SLE GMC Sierra. The previous owner bought it Brand New of the Dealership. Its a 4×2 crew cab. When he gave me the title it showed 12miles. The truck is super clean inside and out. I put a 3" leveling kit, cold intake, msd wires, AC Delco Iridium plugs, exhaust. The truck drives Good until you floor it, Freaking thing moves and it does not cut off at 98. I have had a bunch of trucks, new and old but this 2009 gmc has me thinking. I think I just answered my own question? The truck has somekind of programmer or tune. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  17. Hi there, sorry for the late response. It sounds like you definitely have some kind of tune/programmer. Your truck should be shifting like a glove. The previous owner did some work on it and for sure a tune was added to compensate for larger tires/wheels.What size wheels/tires does the truck say it came from factory? The shift points are too aggressive to be stock. I don't think that the gears were replaced because its cheaper to just add a tune to get the speedometer about right and the extra hp to move the truck. As I see the Dealership where you bought it knew the truck was not stock and all they had to do is replace the computer but then again if you bring the truck in for any reason, thats when the Dealer is going to tell you that your warranty is not good due to powertrain modifications. I would have test drove it first and see where the limiter would stop or just by feeling the shift points. The tune is probably locked. Get it tuned back to stock if possible if not replace the computer. By the way I used to own a 2016 Silverado Regular cab and the 4 cylinder light would only come on if I took off barely touching the gas pedal or coming to a stop. Hope all is well for you and your truck.
