  1. Yup, My guess is if it is not fixed in the 2022 redesign, it probably wont be fixed until a complete remodel. Maybe GM actually has tried to fix, and cannot fix it...like someone else mentioned, the GM Shake, the brake vacuum pumps, the air conditioning condensers etc. of the 2014-2018 models...
  2. Crew Cab power slider here
  3. Totally feel you pain. I am a 8/20 build too, so far my valve springs are good (1700 miles) but my rear window leaks as well, and my battery has had to be replaced. This is the exact reason I haven't had my local dealer attempt to fix this. I really don't get why these windows all leak lol Its just so unacceptable IMHO
  4. Honestly I don't know really.
  5. Let me know what comes of it...
  6. Interesting Idea--thanks for the information! Here is the thread on the valve spring issue
  7. I picked up my 2020 Denali on 8/30/20, its a 8/20 build. The first day I got it, it leaked from the passenger side rear window, onto the plastic you talk about, and down the window. I am 100% convinced that most of these power sliders leak on either side. I had a 2019 Silverado prior, but it had the dark headliner, so it wouldn't have been as easy to notice. This truck has the lighter color headliner, which is what made me notice the leak first, the wet headliner. I took it in to the dealer, and they said "oh yeah" one of these. Not very comforting lol Somewhat mutually I decided I didn't want them to tear apart the headliner, spoiler, rear window, caulk etc to basically not fix the leak for good. I think these repairs just put Band-Aids on if anything. It would be nice for the 2022 redesign to have a permanent fix for this. I have had to have my truck towed, due to a battery that lost all its cranking amps (Wouldn't charge at all). I also am in the build date range for the valve spring issue, hope that doesn't happen!! Good luck with your dealer.
  8. There is also a sticker on the bottom right hand side when you open the drivers door. It would just have the month and year on that sticker.
  9. yea not sure, just wondering really, and I'm sure your right that engines are shipped in...so truck vehicle build wouldn't matter at all then...
  10. Are there any USA built trucks in here that have broke a spring? Your two letters before the last six numbers in your VIN would let you know. LGXXXXXX is a Mexico build LZXXXXXX is a USA build
  11. Hmm seems like that makes all trucks in here 8/20 builds. Mine is also 8/20, 900 miles, LZ352412 So a USA build, but I think engines all come from the same factory.
  12. What's your last eight of your VIN and build date?
  13. Yea with 2700 miles I would probably guess your in better shape, a couple in the corvette thread were like 50 miles and stalls. I think the highest mileage of failure in the corvette thread was like 450. Still, yea the more we the consumer who spent alot of money on these can know the better.
  14. I would assume your dealer would not be of much help unless there is an actual engine light or running issue. I guess I would be interested if they had a more precise breakdown of the issue by VIN #s or Mexico vs USA builds or the like...Which I guess is already pretty broken down by 6/1-9/15 builds of all V-8s Camaro, Corvette, HD trucks..
  15. Yea the bulletin says June 1st thru Sept 15 production. I have 6XX miles on mine now and 20.3 engine hours. These seem to be failing right out of the gate. (197 and 316 miles in here) Mine is a USA build.
  16. What is your build date? Take a look at this post... I have a Sierra 6.2 Build date of 8/20 already with a leaking rear window issue that hasn't been resolved yet...
  17. Yea the trucks being built in august of 2020, mine was 8/14/20 and its leaking on the passenger side, waiting for my first service appointment yet.
  18. Yea as of at least 8/14/20 when mine was built its the same leaky window story. When I called the dealer she said "oh yea one of those" which wasn't very reassuring. It goes in, in like 10 days, apparently they didn't have an opening until then. The truck has 250 miles on it and leaking all over the seat, carpet, window. This really needs to be addressed at the factory, or with a re design that actually works for us that spend a lot of money on these. I bet most people have some type of leak but either honestly don't notice it because they don't use the back seat, or have the darker headliner like the HC one and cant see it that well?
  19. My dealership said that I would need to make a service appointment because it is a warranty issue. Like always this was there response, "We have never heard of that issue here" There is two service bulletins out there one from last year in Oct or Nov, and one from this year in July that includes the HD trucks too. I almost think that your right in saying "I think lets fix it when it is an issue" They absolutely had zero interest in taking it any further than a service appointment. I haven't attempted to have it fixed yet obviously, but I really don't want them to tear the whole thing apart at three days old. They cant get it in until the 14th. Fun stuff
  20. Yea I have been researching and found two bulletins on this, one from like 2018 when they first started, and one from July of this year, which like you said means its just not that much of a concern, could be something like the 2014-2018 shake at highway speeds, where many bulletins were put out but nothing ever really got fixed. My new one was built on 8/20, VIN LZ353431...I was waiting for it to get off the truck from the factory. Its sad yea, I have the carbon pro edition, black on black, looks great on the outside, but man this really makes it tough. I am taking it back to the service department tomorrow. I really just don't know if I want them tearing it all apart, but I'm not sure I have a choice.
  21. Hello all- I just picked up a 2020 Sierra Denali yesterday, built 8/20 in Fort Wayne, and lone behold today it rained. The passenger side headliner is wet, water leaking down by the seat belt on the passenger back seat plastic parts. I'm afraid of what will come next, would prefer to not have it torn apart, scratched, etc after owning it for one day. Looks like based on my truck alone, at least for the USA builds, this issue has not been addressed at the factory.
