  1. Meh, I am on the highway 99% of the time and I can't tell a bit of difference after installing the Bilsteins. The rear hops a little less going across bridges and railroad crossings. That's about it. They were a waste of money in my opinion, unless I did more offroading in which case they would be really good.
  2. Welcome! One of my best buddies bought a Silverado just before me in Satin Steel. I really love that color. Nice choice! The best advice I can think of is make your truck your own and don't let anyone tell you what you should and shouldn't like. There's a great thread in the Mods section right now about affordable mods to get you started. Me mindful of your rear sliding window as they're prone to leak. So far, I've been lucky with mine. Consider changing out your Ranchero shocks for Bilsteins if you do a fair amount of off-roading. 2021 is the first year for wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay which should be pretty handy. I'm not very familiar with the 3.0 engine other than its excellent fuel mileage so maybe some 3.0 guys can step in with specific advice there.
  3. Agreed. I looked at these because I have some GM points saved up and the ECM reflash sounds cool. But I really, really hate the design on the clear cover. No bueno.
  4. When I bought my truck in September, I couldn't believe how quiet the exhaust was on a 420hp motor. But I have to remind myself I'm not the target market because the majority of truck buyers these days want quiet and luxury. My first attempt was the muffler delete. I was looking for an affordable option since I was also looking at a potential real estate investment at the time. Honestly, it turned out really good. It was much louder on startup and in town but surprisingly quiet on the highway since I left both flappers in. The best part is it only cost $75. The downside was a slight drone on steady hills and a much louder DFM noise. I could have lived with that except I could tell the truck had a lot more in it. That brings me to my new Corsa exhaust. I've been hoarding these stimulus payments so I figured, why not. For anyone looking - CSP racing has the system around $200 less than anyone else and free shipping. Man... this exhaust really woke the truck up. I know people say this a lot but it really does feel like a different truck. The sound is excellent. My Corvette has the Corsa system as well and it sounds very similar to it on startup and high RPM. Throttle response is way better and it even climbs hills on my regular route a gear higher than it did before. You can just tell how much better the truck breathes with a catback system and those flappers gone. I didn't realize how restrictive they are. And in typical Corsa fashion, it's absolutely silent on the highway. The installation wasn't bad and only took a couple of hours with no lift. Getting the old system off was much harder than getting the new one on. I didn't want the cut the factory exhaust so I can go back to factory when I sell or trade the truck and even without my muffler in the way, it was a bear to get loose and drag out. The only downside is I wish it were louder at lower RPM but overall I'm really happy with it. Sorry, no sound clips yet. I'll work on that. Thanks @TNTSilverado for suggesting this system and giving good advice.
  5. There's a lot of positive reviews for S&B on this Forum and from other 6.2 drivers I've spoken to. That was enough to persuade me to order mine this morning. They say their current back order is 2-3 weeks. Rotofab gets excellent reviews as well. I believe the Cold Air Inductions unit utilizes the factory bottom end of the box. The design doesn't promote increased air flow as much as the other two.
  6. Nissan survives by financing anyone with a pulse and a 450 FICO. Shoot, forget the FICO. Our local dealer runs a radio ad that anyone with a paystub showing they bring home $250 a week is guaranteed financing with no credit check. And for up to 96 months haha. Crazy.
  7. I finally decided to pick up an S&B intake. Never tried their brand and they've gotten great reviews across this Forum. A couple of notes for people who are thinking about buying: - I got on their site this morning and saw they were in stock. Great news! Except, they aren't. I called to double-check and their system automatically updates the website when they arrive but they have to manually apply them to existing orders. So don't pay any mind to what the site says about their stock levels. - They also said the lead time is shorter than it has been. He said they're running about 2-3 weeks behind right now. Not too bad and better than 1-2 months like before.
  8. My favorite inexpensive mod on these trucks is the tailgate lettering. There's a lot of options out there for styles and colors. People get really creative with it.
  9. Just had my first oil change at 6,000 miles. Typically I do every 5,000 but I've been driving more lately. The oil life meter in the DIC still read over 30%, FWIW.
  10. Are yours the Goodyears? My buddy has an RST that came with Bridgestones instead and it's noticeably quieter. Goodyear has been in the business as long as anyone else and still can't figure out how to build a quiet tire.
  11. I think this will be hilariously excessive and I'm subscribing to follow the build. This is amazing. LT5 please.
  12. Yeah I'd say you're right here. A GM rep told me at one time the Escalade Platinum was selling at 100k with about 32k of parts in it haha. Crazy profit margins and they own that space. Gotta keep the those buyers happy. But the truck market isn't far behind. Although, it amazes me how many people aren't aware of the 8spd shortcomings even after all these years. A buddy of mine bought a '20 RST a few months before me. His is the 5.3/8spd. I tried to talk him into the 6.2 or a higher trim level to get the 10spd and he looked at me like I had three eyes in my head. They still sell tons of them.
  13. I'm still waiting for the update to come through. I run a search for it about once a week.
  14. The road and wind noise on my T1 is noticeably louder than my K2 ever was, and my K2 had the loud Duratrac tires. But it's a much better truck in all other way.
  15. I like the look of these pretty good! Spyder quality has come a long way since I had a set on my 2009 Silverado. I hate that GM went back to halogens on some T1 trims. Every K1 produced 2016+ had bixenon projectors - even the work trucks. Now someone who spends a lot of money on a Custom or Custom TB gets halogens? Bean counters at it again...
  16. I did the muffler delete on my 6.2 a few months ago. Had them leave both flappers in (the 6.2 has 2, 5.3 has 1) to help prevent drone. Honestly, it's a great setup. It sounds aggressive but not too loud on the highway. I only notice light drone on slight inclines - somewhere around 1700-1800rpm. The best part is it only cost me $75 at a muffler shop. It's a great option if you're looking for more sound. Another option would be to weld a different muffler back in its place which would still get you more sound without having to spend big money on a catback.
  17. Yeah this is silly. Every single 2021 Tahoe/Yukon sold has the 10spd, no matter what trim or engine. I don't know why GM doesn't do this with the trucks. In fact, they took away the 10spd from some Sierra trims for 2021 and went back to the 8spd. Very odd. I'm sure there's a bean counter explanation but it seems like it would be cheaper to put the same trans in everything. Anyways, congrats @TeamSaris! That's a pretty truck. I went back and forth between the Silverado RST and Sierra Elevation for a little while. You're right - the Bose system is really nice. I love mine.
  18. My muffler is already gone since I did the muffler delete before deciding on a catback. In theory, that should make it easier (hopefully).
  19. Following this thread. My catback system ships Monday and I was hoping to be able to do this in the garage on jack stands.
  20. This is the best way. If you go to the Chevy website, under Shopping Tools there's a feature called Search Inventory. You can select your truck there and even narrow down to particular colors and options. It will search for trucks up to 2,000 miles away from your zip code. It's great for finding a specific truck. I wanted the same configuration as you along with the 6.2 motor. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for using this feature. It's really handy!
  21. I left both flappers in when I did the muffler delete on my 6.2. It helps keep down the drone a lot. I still get some drone on slight inclines but overall it's great. The downside is you don't get the added throttle response or increased air flow from a full catback system. For those reasons, I'm stepping up to the Corsa system soon (thanks, stimulus). Some 6.2 guys delete the rear flapper but leave the front one. That will make a little more drone but also increase air flow. There's also ways to play with the resonators in the rear to make the sound different but I haven't looked too much into that.
  22. I haven't noticed the difference between Silverado/Sierra, but I will say my T1 is noticeably louder on the highway than my K1 was. And my K1 had the Duratracs...
  23. PM sent! EDIT: They're coming to KY! For anybody still looking for quad tips, I found these in another thread. Looks like a quality product - I just prefered the larger tips on @lapoolboy truck. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071KN4LRF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  24. I drove both with the 6.2/10spd when I was shopping and ended up with the RST. I thought it rode better and was quieter. Plus I was able to find a double cab RST with the 6.2 and I prefer a double cab anyways. As a side note, I detail cars on the side and I'm very particular about how mine look. I love the look of the black front bumper on the TB but all I could think about was how hard it would be to keep swirls and scratches out of, especially on the front.
  25. Sad, but I expect even more DC trims to be on the chopping block before long. I'm glad I got my RST as I'm sure it won't be far behind. I rarely see trucks like mine. I much prefer the look of a DC over the CC. I get more use out of the standard bed than I ever would out of the extra rear seat space. Plus, I think CC with the standard beds look kind of goofy. To each their own. This is my third DC Silverado but maybe my last depending on how the future generations are offered. It was hard enough finding a DC with the 6.2 this time around. I'm sure it will be next to impossible next time.
