the truck has made the rattle since march
my truck went into the shop in mid march
and they replaced valve body , transmission control module, and the transfer case actuator
and just got it back a week ago and it’s still makes this random rattle at idle
my truck has been at the dealer since last tuesday now 8 days
and they have no idea what’s wrong with it
this is a dealer in tuscaloosa al
they said “it could be electronical”
but they don’t have a clue and they have no idea when they will no what the problem is
update 4/7
now dealer says it’s in fact the transmission
and it maybe the planetary gear
they are taking transmission out now to see what’s broke
they will then see if gm wants to rebuild or replace the 10 speed

this truck has been a giant pos from day one
bought new in january 21
in may of 21, lifters collapsed left me dead on the road
dealer fixed and replaced one bank of lifters
two weeks ago I was getting an awful clunk
sound
took to dealer and they attributed it to bad 87 octane and suspension clunk
yesterday I was 200 miles from home with my two dogs in bfe
and they clunk rattle was terrible
the service 4wd
the service engine
low power mode came on
limped to safe spot and called on star and they towed it to nearest dealer
dealer thinks it’s the transmission
2 catastrophic failures in first 14 months
the truck now has 39,000 miles
needed to vent
Since this latest generation I’ve had new standard bed z71 or x31
2015
130,000 miles
transmission replaced at 108,000 just out of warranty
2018
Z71
60,000 miles
no issues
2020
x31
32,000 miles no issues
and now this gem 2021 6.2
all others were 5.3
This best part is there are no trucks to replace my At4
it’s a standard bed which apparently over the last 7 years is frowned upon in a half ton
my truck is very specifically setup for what I do everyday
Question
is this issue being caused by the afm?
if so if I get my truck back I’m thinking of Getting the pulse to disable afm
issue :
We are currently in the process of dismantling the affected side of the engine. We have had parts ordered for it. I should know more tomorrow.
Lifter, push rod head bolts and gaskets
This is their latest
response
“
Wellllllllll. We have some back ordered parts. We are searching the country for them now.
I made GM aware of the situation
I have a 2021
6.2
at4
that I bought new in January
experienced severe engine knocking yesterday
took it in to dealer I bought it from and they think it maybe a stuck lifter
but they don’t know for sure
very very frustrating
could be 7-10 days without my truck
anyone seen this ?
I currently have a 2020 Sierra crew standard bed with the 24 gallon tank and loathe it. I drive roughly 40k a year
ordering a 2021 at4 crew standard bed
has anyone had any luck getting the 28 gallon installed in these crew cab standard bed trucks
thanks
The warn Trans4mer on my 18 Sierra worked on 18 Silverado
Warn has one for 19 plus Silverado
they have nothing for Sierra
I assume you can make it work
But not look as good
2 things to look at
the shape of the Sierra vs Silverado bumper
the other the mount holes for the tow hooks
Silverado horizontal
Sierra vertical
you will need to get your eyes on Silverado
see instructions it may or may not working depending on those two factors
