Whipped Trail Boss

I have a 2021 6.2L TrailBoss and I have added a 3.0L Whipple Supercharger and ECU unlocked by HP Tuners. All the work and dyno tuning has been done by National Speed Inc. They have been able to squeeze 580whp which is pretty close to 700hp at the crank. My truck will keep up with my 2015 C7 Corvette Stingray. To my knowledge HP Tuners has recently been able to unlock the GM 10spd tcm. My shop has confirmed it and they want to wait until HP Tuners offers more adjustability. Currently there is not much that can be done to the tcm even though it is unlocked. I have only had one problem with this setup. After about 5K miles the pulley and main shaft snapped in half while cruising on the interstate at 75mph. Whipple and National speed obviously fixed it for free as it was all still under warranty. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to help. I'm going to attach the dyno report.

Absolutely... Who doesn't like dyno charts?

National Speed Inc tuned it and did all the work. I was there for the final dyno session and 7th gear is 1:1 ratio so all they did was run it in 7th using manual mode. As long as you ease into the throttle it won't downshift.

Out of curiosity what kind of oil pressure do you have at idle? My truck only has about 28psi at idle.

I absolutely agree. I had a very good local company do the work for about ½ the cost. The only good thing about Hennessey is their 3 year/ 36K mile warranty.

I have a 2021 6.2L TrailBoss with the 3.0L Whipple. GM performance upgrade package which was the air intake and cat-back exhaust. I had the work done by National Speed Inc. They dyno tuned it to 535whp. I too have the trans issues with the truck. Nothing major but a little stumble once in awhile. Until we can get the 10 speed unlocked I believe it is what it is. I really have no complaints. The truck runs the ¼ mile just as fast as my 2015 C7 Corvette Stingray and that's on the stock 265/60R20 tires. A full size (5,300+ lbs) truck running the ¼ mile in the 12s is an awesome experience. The truck just rolled over 2,000 miles.

Anybody else have a supercharged TrailBoss? I'd love to hear about it.

I have a 2021 6.2L TrailBoss with the 10 speed and I already have the Gen 5 3L Whipple Supercharger installed. I too am very concerned about the transmission. I believe that the 10L80 transmission is rated for 600hp but don't quote me on that. My truck made 535whp and 537lbft. If you add 18% for parasitic loss that 630hp at the crank. Anybody with some info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to a Silverado. I too just ordered a 2021 6.2L TrailBoss and can't wait to take delivery so I can add a Gen 5 3.0L Whipple. So excited!!!

Thank you very much. I can't wait to take delivery however all these plant shutdowns and computer chip shortages have me worried that we will never get the dream truck.

Hello Everyone, My family thanks I'm crazy but 2 weeks ago I ordered a 2021 6.2L Trail Boss LT and yesterday I put down a deposit for National Speed to do some major modifications to the truck as soon as I take delivery. They will be adding a Whipple Gen 5 3L supercharger along with a catch can, thermostat, plugs and a tune from HP Tuners. I know that at 40 years old I will be immediately voiding the powertrain warranty but this is what I want and that's also why I built and ordered the exact truck I want. Anybody have any experience or advice? Anyone else think I'm crazy? Maybe I'm going through a midlife crisis...
