  1. I got the same answer from them after playing phone tag for about a month. Not happy that i have to be plug in to get text messages.
  2. GM removed the native text message feature/app at a point on the 2019 lines going forward. I just talked to GM about it and they said it was removed & no longer supported and their solution was to use android auto or apple carplay as the solution. Not very helpful since you have to have your phone plugged into on the 2019 to get the messages via either of the two platforms. They gave a BS line about they could release a new feature at some point to replace the old messaging app (never will happen) but they said plugging in your phone was a much better option for features on my truck. It sounded like they lost their rights to to use this app since they removed it for some 2019's that already had it that were made in early 2019.
  3. This shortage is affecting everything from cars & trucks to computers to basically anything smart it's the new TP from last year https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2021-chip-production-why-hard-to-make-semiconductors/ https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/04/27/6-causes-of-the-global-semiconductor-shortage/
  4. my 2016 subaru has a fine tune +/- for it screen, not sure why trucks at this price point don't have these basic options
  5. I just got my used 19 RST z71 Crew with 25k miles last month, love the truck. I had to bird dog this truck at the lot till it was up for sale it had a title issue and had to be weighed (some CO law states it had to match the title listed weight and it came from out of state), talked to the sales manager they said I was luck to grab it, tucks and basically any good used car/suv does not staying on the lot very long. Their used lot was basically half empty and most of the vehicles were either already sold or being transferred out to other locations for other buyers.
  6. It's definitely brighter than the rest of the dash. My last ride i was able to adjust the screen +/- brightness if you like it darker or brighter once you dialed in your dash brightness. I'll ask Chevy about that update at my next service maybe it will help.
  7. I just got a used 2019 Silverado RST z71 seem to be having the same issue, but did not notice it till i was on a dark 2 lane country road, had turn my dash so far down to get the screen to dim so i could see, when I back on the highway the next night the dash was so dim i almost could not see it. I'm surprised that that screen does not have fine tuner for the brightness to adjust it to your liking. have had that option in other rides
  8. @Silverado4x4 Does the update fix the issue with the screen being brighter than the rest of the dash lights when driving and yes its like spot light in reverse mode at night if your soundings are dark? I was driving this weekend on a dark country road and had to turn my dash way down because the screen was to bright. Seem like the screen is much brighter than the rest of dash lightning.
  9. Easy swap but a pain to get the two longer screws back in correctly, glue issue was not a problem but did the swap on a warm day and the plug came loose fairly easily truck was sitting in the sun for a few hours which might have helped
