  1. Is the rear end leaking? Could be lots of things, any different noise from the diff? How are the spring hangers and bushings? Brakes? Transmission mount?Trans crossmember? Pinion bearing, Diff carrier bearings? Impossible to diagnose online. They had lots of problems with those rear ends back in the day
  2. Try jumping the starter relay and see if it cranks. Could be the neutral or clutch switch
  3. Where your truck is probably not getting run long enough to bring the oil up to temp and evaporate any moisture and burn the fuel contaminates off through the PCV system I would change the oil at least twice a year regardless of mileage. If you notice excessive oil consumption the PCV system is more than likely clogged up and parts will need to be replaced
  4. They do rust where the fiberglass attaches to the metal but it's not as obvious as fleetside rust
  5. Nice score! How much did it set you back?
  6. Keep us posted with the outcome please.
  7. an errant intake air temp or coolant temp sensor could be the culprit and not set a code. You need to hook it up to a scan tool that does live data to figure it out
  8. I agree, anyway to get into a heated garage for a few hours or overnight? Maybe ask your local garage if they can put it inside for the nite for you
  9. $2.99 is the most common here but you can find it as low as $2.75 if you know where the low buck places are. Just over the border in NH I saw $2.59
  10. What! No Pics?
  11. Welcome to the Forum! How's the belt and hoses? you might want to have a helper turn the wheel while you watch the belt for signs of slipping. Is the pump securely bolted to its bracket? Have you jacked it up to see if anythings binding? If all that checks out my guess would be the pump is bad
  12. The readings posted were 47mph & 1100 rpm so hard to say if the MAP is doing its thing
  13. No, they don't
  14. As much as I hate the idea maybe masks should be required. Tuff to do eating and drinking at a party. Quite the dilemma!
  15. My 04 has done the same thing once. It never happened again so I never explored the cause but probably a glitch in the power from the ignition switch to the bcm or ecm
  16. I believe if you remove the starter and grease the shaft the bendix gear is on it will cure the problem, but as suggested put the new starter in and save the old1 for a spare
  17. Does the thing the actuator connects to move freely thru all ranges? Possibly something like a pencil went down the defroster and is jamming the door
  18. That is why the DRL cancels when the directional is on, you can not see it
  19. Definitely a possibility
  20. The coils are triggered by a ground pulse from the PCM not power. The crankshaft sensor is on the rear of the engine above the flywheel so I bet it may have become unplugged or the wires pinched when you pulled the trans
  21. How's the missus doing Grumpy? They test the sewer water here in Mass to see if Covid , the flu and RSV are increasing and it is. Some healthcare places requiring masks now.
