  2. Correct. Read the directions on any chemical sealer you use, lots of RTV says to let it skin over BEFORE assembly. The more humid it is the faster it cures, I think the RIGHT STUFF can be assembled wet
  3. I had an 88 K1500 with a 5.7 that had those symptoms, I know totally different, it ended up being the ECM. Once you get the fuel system fixed if it still runs lousy you may want to investigate that. it didn't set any codes, stalled ,ran rough at times etc

  5. You could try a used 1, they used that engine in the Astro vans, Plenty of them in the boneyard. Look for a wrecked or rotted 1 so the chance that it was scrapped for that reason and not a mechanical issue will be greater

  14. same here no change, scare tactics trying to get folks to hoard?
  15. I think they are pretty cool, like a 4wd Elcamino. I saw a new version on the hi-way about a month ago, it had dealer plates, wasn't called Avalanche but the bed body panels and the cab were all 1 piece, Most of the Avalanches and the Cadillac version have succumbed to rust here in the Northeast, the 1s that haven't are bringing decent $, Hi Doug
  16. It's only value would be in scrap metal. No one is going to buy a rear diff that needs new guts. The scrap metal value in my area is $200 a ton so it might be worth $10
  17. Saw $3.76/87 in my travels yesterday, fuel oil down to $3.95
  18. That GM customer service is an AI bot, don't expect a response

  21. If you Google the code there are a few Utube vids on diagnosing the code
  22. Saw $3.96 at truck stop on US1, Mobil next door $4.06bcash
  23. Check for broken bolts holding the exhaust manifolds to the heads, common problem. Dorman makes a repair piece if you find you have broken 1s and don't want to do the surgery to replace them
