  1. any codes? is the transfer case engaging but not the hubs?
  2. sounds like a brake caliper bolt may be missing
  3. if it has ackerman steering make sure the steering box is tight and look for any cracks in the frame around it
  4. after you check it on the ground jack it up with the jack under the lower control arm as close to the tire as possible, this unloads the spring and allows you to check the ball joints upper control arms etc. Im not sure when they went to rack & pinion steering but if it has it it could be a loose or bad rack
  5. lots of shops just looking to make the fast easy $doing half ass brake jobs, the mark up on brake parts here north of Boston is %100. they didnt take the time to properly diagnose your problem OR when they did the job they pushed crap back into the abs & master. the properway to compress calipers is 2 clamp off the brake hoses and open the bleeders as the calipers are the lowest parts in the system so all the debris ends up in them. VERY few techs do this tho. its a shame you have to go to the dealer and cant find a competant independant.. the shop that did the brake job was foolish to release the truck like it is, you could easily have crashed and hurt yourself or someone else opening them up to a lawsuit. its 1 thing if your truck doesnt start but a whole different thing if it doesnt stop
  6. hmm, Ive never seen a fuel pump module come without the sending unit. if you tried to save a buck just doing the pump you skimped in the wrong place given the history of bad sending units GM has
  7. can you pump the pedal and have it come up and stay there with your foot on it?if so theres still air in the system somewhere. if it still creeps to the floor its either the master cylinder or you have a leak somewhere
  8. the connector is on the back of the light switch. sounds like you may have some disconnected duct work for the heater behind the dash. scan tool may be able to help with 4wd problem
  9. booster will not cause your problem, most likely bad master cylinder. a bad booster would cause the pedal to be hard to depress enough to stop the truck but not affect pedal travel
  10. Filter will NOT affect op. most of the oil bypasses the filter, the things that affect op are oil viscosity, oil pressure relief valve and bearing clearances. also restricted pickup screen. try changing back to the oil you were using and see what happens, maybe the oil was labeled wrong
  11. probably a bad light switch, but check the connector for any signs of over heating
  12. it wouldnt be the filter so it must be the oil,
  13. you may have already replaced what would have damaged the cat tho
  14. I agree with Jworks, try taking the upstream o2 sensors out and running it. it will be loud but that will tell you if its the cat. aftermarket weld in cats aren't that expensive. theres usually a reason cats fail so if thats what it is you need to investigate further so you don't ruin the new 1
  15. do the old wiggle test, with it running wiggle any wiring harness you can, including bat cables. tap on power dist box , ecm etc
  16. check for a bad ground. you will need e schematic that shows where different circuits ground alldata has this. with some deductive reasoning you should be able to elimlnate circuits not related to the problem
  17. most likely a loose connection somewhere between the battery and the power distribution box but also could be a short circuit or bad ground
  18. 2500hd is considered light duty as far as a scan tool
  19. Creader CRP123 is not a bad 1. around $150 on ebay a little slow but does abs, airbag, data stream. works on anything and free updates online. unless you have a problem with your dlc any scan tool should be able to pull codes. check your fuses, if no power at DLC. nothings gonna work
  20. low fluid level or clogged filter, its also possible that something broke inside the trans. either way if the linkage checks out ok its time for a rebuild or used trans
  21. sounds like a bad master cylinder
  22. check the shift linkage on the trans, if thats tight replace the shift cable
  23. sounds like the clutches have welded themselves together probably from fluid starvation if the linkage checks out
  24. I'm curious as to why you pulled the plugs in the first place after changing them. did u have a misfire?
  25. possibly partialy clogged injector. try a couple tanks of non ethanol fuel with Techron injector cleaner
