  2. They should go hang around the food stamp offices
  3. $2.61 /87 cash price at the truckstop on the hi-way, Mobil station next to it is $2.64
  4. Hey moderators- how about squashing this BS?
  5. some factory plugs have a groove for an oring, ALL drain plugs have a seal of some type ,the exception being a self tapping repair plug
  6. All too common in chain parts stores, if it isn't in the computer it must not exist. I got in an argument at 1 when the genius swore a 5.7 chev only had 6 spark plugs cuz that's what his computer said
  7. Check the ground wires on the top bellhousing bolt and the rear of the passenger cylinder head
  8. Or put some weight in it
  9. Hi Doug, I couldn't get the video to play but it could be the speed sensor, do you have a scan tool that does live data? You should be able to view it on that. If that's ok it could be the connection to the cluster or the cluster itself. Merry Christmas, Dick
  10. Down about a dime some places, $2.70s /87
  11. Happy Holidays from Massachusetts
  12. ^6.0 is pretty bullet proof but not very good on gas, probably a 4L80e trans which should be fine as long as it wasn't plowed or abused, frame rot and cracks would be 1 concern, check the ball joints, they tend to wear out regularly, look at the rear spring hangers and the rear cab mounts
  13. I noticed 1 station on the hiway dropped to $2.62 and BJs club store went down to $2.45 members price, no changes elsewhere, Hopefully others follow suit after the weekend
  14. Lots of $2.99s, still $2.70s on the hiway. Filled up locally earlier $2.81
  15. Most places up another nickel. 2.80s, still a few at $2.76
  16. Up a few cents here in the past week
  17. It's called convoluted tubing
  18. We took a scenic drive through through the north shore of Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire over the weekend, lowest I saw was $2.51/87 and the highest was $3.99/ 87
  19. I changed a tire on a state police cruiser the other day with a screw driver stuck in it sideways. Lots of crap on the roads these days!
  20. 88 c/k was a cool truck, I had a K1500, 300k on it when the trans went again and I parted it out. It plowed snow better than most of the trucks I have owned but the 700r4 wasn't the most durable trans, went through 4 or 5 and a rear end
  21. Should be plug and play, mechanical odometer so no way to adjust to actual mileage
  22. With that mileage if you pull it to do the converter it would be foolish not to rebuild it
  23. Every do it yourself mechanic should build a relationship with their local independant parts store, It may cost a few bucks more than the chain stores but when you have a problem and the kid at the chain says thats what the computer says it's good to be able to talk to someone that knows parts. Sadly a lot of the old timers are retiring but there a lot of sharp younger people still behind the counters. I have been dealing with the same parts stores for close to 50 years, I have the owners home phone numbers if I need something after hours, Rarely used but invaluable. Chains have bought out a couple of them and won't sell to you without a commercial account, I guess cash isn't what it used to be, 1 of them cancelled my commercial account because I wasn't buying enough parts
  24. About the same as the SuperTech
