  1. Could be either, have the battery and alternator tested at the parts store. make sure they test the diodes in the alternator. If that's not it then time to do a parasitic draw test cuz it could be a million things
  2. Maybe either the pcv hose or the breather system in the valve cover containing the pcv is clogged causing the system to work backwards pushing oil into the crankcase breather
  3. What would damage the coils is worn out spark plugs/ bad wires
  4. More than likely it's just the coils failing 1 at a time. Voltage spike shouldn't damage them but definitely not good for the puter
  5. 1 place on the hiway is $2.99, Truck stop $3.06 AAA says average is $3.41 in Massachusetts. Just over the NH border BJs(like Costco) $2.80 member price. $3.13 low $ place in town
  6. Take the old fittings to the parts store and match them up. You will have better luck at a NAPA or independant parts store than the chains.Modules should be the same as long as they are both the same systems, 4 w disc or drum /disc
  7. Update, The U tube video was right. Easy fix that would have taken hours to diagnose.
  8. It's not a 5.7, that is a completely different engine with the knock sensor near the starter. Possibly it's a 5.3 but I think the sensors may be the same as the 6.0 if it is
  9. Be Careful with the rehab care, my MIL was admitted to 1 after suffering pneumonia, contracted Covid there and ended up passing away last month. A good friend of mine went to the same rehab a week after she was admitted and I warned him of the Covid. He inquired and they denied there was any concern until a week later they told him that there was an outbreak. He made it out unscathed. Covid is FAR from over, it's just not in the headlines anymore
  10. Depending on what you plow probably not many but the truck is ALWAYS working. The 1s that don't leak a little oil tend to get very rusty, no fun changing oil pans etc. I may burn more than a tank of gas in a shopping center parking lot not going over 20 mph. BLOOD $
  11. utube shows broken ground wire behind ps pump. guess I will start there. Happy Thanksgiving Doug and everyone else! Going into food coma! Glad it's not my truck so I can walk away if need be
  12. I operate a highway assistance truck for a state contractor on interstate 95 north of Boston, it never ceases to amaze me how many people really have no idea how to drive. It seems the holidays bring out the worst of them. All week there have been way more accidents then normal, yesterday was fairly quiet even though there was heavy rain most of the day,, traffic was lighter than normal. It must be mating season for deer, 4 deer strikes in 15 minutes shortly after dusk last night. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
  13. Could just be oil residue from the repairs, Spray clean it with brake cleaner and see if it reoccurs
  14. No spark but then it will start and drive but shuts down randomly, no related codes, no crank or cam signal showing on the scanner when it happens. I just started the diagnosis and ran out of time. Any ideas on possible causes to save me some time?
  15. Sounds like the circuit to turn it on is bad, either internally or from the ignition . The alternator is self exciting when you rev it up, normal operation,If the original alternator worked normally it is probably just a bum alternator. Do not try jumping the 2 wire plug with 12v, it will fry the regulator, been there, done that
  16. Welcome to the Forum Jacob!
  17. try switching the starter relay with 1 of the other relays
  18. Did you try changing the oil?
  19. listen to Cam and look at the pump while your in there and reseal it while it's out. unless you have a lift and the knowledge/ tools to do it I would have a trans shop do it not the dealer
  20. Welcome to the Forum! Any vibration in neutral or change shifting to neutral while it's occurring? Was there any change at all after doing the converter? Sounds like the T converter, wonder if you got a defective 1
  21. First step is check for codes. You will need more than a basic code reader to get the 4wd codes
  22. figures it's a Ford, Love the window!
