  1. We tow our Grand Design Imagine with our 2022 custom gasser and we have never had a problem, even with the 12v fridge running. We also have a 165W solar panel on our camper but when plugged into the truck, never a problem. So I think you might have a problem with your 7 pin connector. Might be time to get out the old trusty digital VOM meter and start troubleshooting your loss of power to your camper.
  2. I know this is kind of an old topic but I had this on my 2022 custom 2500 gas model. I opened the power steering cap at 2500 miles when I first noticed it, nothing on the dipstick. After a full pint of power steering fluid, it quieted down, back to normal. I don't think GM serviced them correctly from the factory or at least made sure all the air was out of the system. And of course it wasn't checked at my first oil change. If it was it would have been caught a few hundred miles earlier. But either way my noise was from lack of fluid. 16ozs later it's showing up full on the dipstick and all is quiet now at 4k miles, thank goodness.
  3. Not that this helps and I'm definitely going to show my age here, but I remember years ago, mostly 70, 80's and 90's most vehicles all came with the same high end wiring harness. All you had to do was buy the fog lights or other add ons that would come from the factory, install them and the plug-in for them was right there zip tied to something close by. These days the wiring harness' are vehicle specific. Makes it a nightmare to add stuff that the higher end vehicles have.....Oh well, I'm sure they saved some money somewhere from doing that. What it ultimately did though was make it a HUGE PITA to upgrade most anything. Ah, the good ole days....lol....but I will say most of those cars and trucks sucked back then. So at least we have better overall vehicles. The smog devices back then were insane and choked the engines badly. These days 3 to 500 horsepower is a cake walk. Total trade off...but worth it in my opinion.
  4. Confuses me too because after me being at work 10 hours and leaving when it 80 plus degrees out mine still makes that noise. So temp. doesn't matter with mine at all and apparently with yours either.
  5. I get that and did read the service bulletin. What I don't understand is why it didn't do it before I had the dealer change the oil at 2500 miles. That's my main question. What's different? What kind of oil did Chevy put in them from the factory? It apparently is different then the Ac Delco full synthetic 5W-30 that my dealer used. That noise only showed up right after the oil change. The oil is full, the filter is AC Delco as well. I'm thinking GM put some kind of additive in from the factory. What are your thoughts? I actually might try a 0W-40 or a 5W-40 synthetic HDEO oil to see if it quiets it down a bit. They say the sound is normal, what happens long term?
  6. So if that's the case, why did it not do it before I had the first oil change? That's what has me scratching my head here...it's like, what the hell happened with just an oil change....
  7. I did buy it at the end of August which is hot as hell here in Atlanta. But it immediately started making the noise when I had the oil changed early October. It never made a peep until then....
  8. I'll figure this out and let you all know. That's what I do.....lol...be well....
  9. I'm trying to figure this out...that 6.6L gasser is to die for. I absolutely love it....But why on earth does it make that noise? I've read that the oil filter check valve to keep it primed isn't working...I call BS on that theory. Something changed drastically when my first oil change was done at 2500 miles... Now what is different? The only thing different is oil and filter. Nothing else. Unless GM put in some kind of additive to their oil......hmmmm... edit again...I bet GM was using a thicker based oil. Like a 0 or a 5W-40.....That would make sense for initial break in for an engine that is robust as this one is.
  10. I had the 3.5 Ecoboost in our 2019 Explorer Sport and never had a problem or noise out of it. Now, I did my own oil changes and used Mobil 1 with the factory oil filter.
  11. 2022 2500 Chevy gasser......I know this topic has been discussed before, and I know GM said all is good. BUT, I never had that terrible sound until I had the oil changed at the dealer at 2500 miles. Ever since then, every time I do a cold start I hear this, of what I think, is the timing chain just rattling like heck for a second. I've checked the oil, it's fine, the dealer of course used a GM oil filter. There has to be a way to fix this. I hate it and want to get rid of it, the sound that is....I love the gas engine....best engine ever. I just want it to not make a horrific noise on start up like it did before I had the oil changed for the first time. Any ideas how to solve that?
  12. I'm not sure what catch can you are trying to install. I installed one from J&L (used to be JLT) in about 2 minutes. I hope it all works out for you.
