  1. Oh man, you guys are getting hosed on prices. Thats sad
  2. I paid around $5 qt for the GM ULV fluid from Rockauto. I got the filter for less than $35 (obviously US$) as far as the pan gasket its reusable and should be good for several pan drops. I have all the stuff for my 2024 gasser but I sold it with less than 12,000 miles so I never had to do it. It does however look like the trans crossover bolts could be backed out and the trans jacked up enough to clear the exhaust. My plan was to install a drain plug or buy a Dorman pan with the plug in it (about $150 on Rockauto) As far as refilling I bought a m18 nipple that screws into the fill plug on the side of the case. It would allow me to run a hose to the normal dipstick area and fill the trans that way. If you use a clean pan you can measure the amount of fluid that drains out and replace that amount.
  3. Typical battery life of 5-7 yrs on most. I ordered a set with my new truck even though I had a set already on my trailer. The price was only $55. I ended up selling them to the guy that bought my 2024. He bought my truck to pull his new trailer so it worked out well for him. I think its just that that sensor doesnt like to wake up and that its just a coincidence that its the first one in the sequence. I went to the LR, RR and RF and they all came online with my tool. If you do some research its likely you could find a generic set instead of needing the GM ones. I did that on our Cruze a few years ago. I found a set on Amazon made by Schrader who makes them for OEM's. Same sensors for 1/3 the price.
  4. Yes, I checked it a number of times including the next morning and it was still low until I added another qt. I guess I will know for sure in the spring when I change it again.
  5. the system will relearn sensors by choosing the alternate method of letting some air out of the tires. For some reason the left front sensor on mine will not wake up with my tool. All of the others will but it requires I let air out of each since that first one wont wake up.
  6. The dealer has resources through GM. Dont let them tell you otherwise. What they typically dont have is anyone at the dealer level that is knowledgeable because that costs money since smart people dont work for free and avoid poorly managed business with mountains of feckless middle managers.
  7. I would guess that something in the lamp has failed after the years you have had them. Sounds like its time to replace them. Plenty of good options out there. I just installed a pair of Lasfit 7444 red lamps on the tail lights/brake lights of my 25 Silverado 3500 and they work very well.
  8. My guess would be main battery since I dont think GM would have 2 different harnesses for the power, although I think it could be easily routed to the 2nd battery and would make more sense there.
  9. Thats criminal for a variety of reasons, not the least of which the service manager doesnt know what he is talking about.
  10. Try to find a reputable shop to go through it. Reman can mean very different things and the quality can/will vary wildly. Some will actually rebuild it, others will half ass it just enough to get you down the road. A billet torque converter wont be of much help if the trans is still junk. Find out specifically what the shop does during the rebuild.
  11. I towed a 12k fifth wheel with my 2021 Gas 3500 and my 2024 also. I never saw trans temps over mid 180's on either truck. If youre towing with a gasser and youre having heat control issues with the trans I would suggest it may be an issue other than the cooler. Had I kept my 2021 my plan was for a billet converter as soon as it was out of warranty.
  12. I bought my one and only Cub cadet product some years back. A self propelled push mower. About 2 yrs in it started shredding expensive cables and drive wheels. The engineering was horrible and the parts were ridiculously expensive. I ended up stripping the drive system off of it and left it outside on some property we owned for trim mowing.
  13. If I thought for a second that anything new was better than my 10yrs old Husky POS I would buy one, problem is I dont see anything better out there so I keep limping this one along. The drive belt is for sure a pain to replace. The deck has to come off and it has to be lifted to get underneath it. I usually do the belt when I pull the trans out for its oil change and filter cleaning (it was bought at a Lowes so it has a grossly undersized trans)
  14. You may also want to find a new dealer if you end up in another one.
  15. Document everything in writing, nothing verbal between you and the dealer. They hate paper trails.
  16. The lack of a legit numerical value on all the trucks tells me some very unserious folks were on the team that designed the gauges. My Scangage 3 gives me useful numbers, not just a bar graph thats all guesswork and barely better than an idiot light. I am hoping that the refresh on both the 1500 and the HD's includes real gauges. I made my feelings known to GM some time ago and I have seen many reviews speaking poorly of the design. I believe the new dash will have a different way of displaying the instruments, it will be more like a monitor display hopefully making it more adaptable to the owners needs. I was hoping to be in contact with someone at GM with my input on the instrument and gauge layout but it never panned out.
