  1. That is the way it is SUPPOSED to work but many folks with 1500's have noticed a huge improvement in transmission "smoothness" if you disable it before you begin driving. The theory is that the software is not programmed correctly and that the grade braking is not working like the manual says it should (instead of only being active if you ride the brakes it is actually trying to kick in when you coast and makes the transmission do more hunting for the correct gear). There are already some dealers that have tried this and proven that it helps. They are passing the info back to GM Engineers to see what they say.
  2. Not sure what you mean by this. I actually bought a tri-fold for this exact reason. It gives me MORE use of the bed then the roll-up kind. I just crawl in the bed and remove 4 thumb wheels and the entire cover comes off with nothing left in the bed. I can either stand it up in the bed or put it in the cab (I have a crew cab). With the roll-up ones there are rails that stay attached to your bed and get in the way ...
  3. My 2015 Silverado LT has the spacers ...
  4. I bought them back in December so maybe the price changed since then??
  5. I got a great price (and amazing pre- and post-sale support) at http://www.ourdealsrock.net
  6. I'm not trying to step into the middle of this fight, just FYI: I have had Amp steps on 2 trucks through about 7 northeast winters total with absolutely ZERO problems with them freezing up. And the Amp warranty is 5 years not 1 ...
  7. No problem. It also looks like Amp is running the $100 rebate I got right now (their website says buy before 3/31/2016). The link to the form is here: http://lirebates.com/WebAPI/rebateforms/7dd57247-cb0d-4a61-a859-7c594d459e70.pdf
  8. I posted this earlier but I got a good price from http://ourdealsrock.net/ and they must be an authorized seller since I was able to get a Lund rebate after I bought from them (Lund owns Amp Research). The P-n-P is DEFINITELY worth it. I also bought the OBD pass-through harness (this is not needed but allows you to still have an empty OBD port after you connect the P-n-P harness and the empty OBD port mounts right in the factory location). I did the install myself and taking my sweet time and being OCD it still only took me about 4 hours from the time I opened the box until I was finished cleanup. Everything mounts right up and you only need to drill a small hole under the driver's floormat. All the harnesses are the perfect length and the instructions are pretty good. The only thing the instructions don't tell you that I recommend is do not make all the bolts tight until you have the brackets hung and the boards mounted to the brackets. At that point you can go back and tighten then torque everything. It makes lining everything up much easier.
  9. Where is the easiest place to tie into the cargo lights? It looks like the harness runs up under the bed rails but I can't tell where you can reach it to tap in.
  10. I thought about doing that. Has anybody tried these yet?: http://www.anzousa.com/2014-chevrolet-silverado-l-e-d-corner-step-5-function.html
  11. Same here. Factory 2015 Z71 with no lift or lower, stock wheels, etc. Also, I asked Amp about them hitting the curb. If they would they stop as soon as they contact the curb so you don't damage anything. When you close the door they retract again and reset themselves.
  12. Just FYI for others interested in the Amps: I got mine from ourdealsrock.net. At the time I bought mine they had the best price (just under $1100 shipped for boards, plug and play, and the optional OBDII pass-through). I applied for the $100 rebate from Lund and my rebate was approved and processed quickly so they must be an approved seller. And the folks at ODR.net were super helpful when I was figuring out what to order. Also, the Tech Support at Amp is absolutely awesome -- just call them if you have any questions!
  13. The grille looks great but I doubt it's a High Country grille since you have a GMC
  14. What about auto-dim? Did anybody get that to work without hacking into the standard harnesses?
  15. I don't think you have to take the bumper off. Anzo sells replacement steps that have LED's in the face of them and if you follow their installation instructions they show you how to remove the corner steps: http://www.anzousa.com/media/installation/e0da1a5a.pdf
  16. The 2LT package DEFINITELY comes with a backup camera. Sounds like the tailgate was replaced at some point. As long as the dealer is installing it at no charge you should be good ...
  17. Yes, there is a faint thud on both extend and retract. If you look at the brackets there is a rubber bumper that the arm contacts when the step closes which is what you are hearing. The sound does not come from the boards hitting the truck (if they are adjusted correctly you should see a small gap between the steps and rocker panels when the boards are stowed).
  18. If you are talking about Ourdealsrock.net I don't know if they are authorized or not, but I bought from them in December when there was a similar rebate through Lund. My debit card is processed and should be mailed any day now so apparently they qualify for the rebate. I also registered my warranty online at the Amp website and didn't have any issues getting registered so I think they are authorized. As for odr.net, they were GREAT to work with. I called them with questions before I ordered and they walked me through everything. There was even 1 part they didn't have in stock (chrome trim strip) and they honestly told me I should get it somewhere else since I would probably get it quicker. And if you have any questions about the steps just call Amp directly -- their tech support is amazing!
  19. That's true for powerfold and turn signals but you will not get the auto-dim or reverse-tilt without new harnesses and a BCM upgrade.
  20. Here is a simple way to tell: If you don't have the memory seat buttons above the driver's door handle then you don't have the correct harnesses or BCM software to make the DL3 mirrors work (don't ask me why GM bundled it this way but they did).

  22. If nobody wants to trade you but you are interested in buying I have a brand new set of black ones listed in the For Sale section. You can buy mine, put them on your truck, then sell your chrome ones to Hisdem
  23. What about the auto-dim?
  24. There was a TSB for this on the Lambda vehicles (Outlook/Traverse/Acadia/Enclave). It involved changing out the brake booster, master cylinder, and most importantly the brake fluid. I don't have the TSB number but ask the dealer to look up the issue on those vehicles. I had it done to our Enclave a few years ago and the squeak has not been back.
  25. Well I found this thread a little late to help some of you, but if possible replace the thermal actuator with the motored one. I did it a few years ago and it only cost me around $100 (found the actuator on Amazon for around $60 and the harness on ebay for around $40). Not only is the new one more reliable, but it engages INSTANTLY instead of having a 15-30 second delay like the original one does. Here is an old thread where I supplied a link to a great tutorial by a previous member: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90640 Check Post #6. Unfortunately most of the links have been changed since the post is over 2 1/2 years old! I didn't have any luck locating the tutorial but the Amazon link for the actuator is still valid.
