  1. Talk to Chris (he frequents these forums). He can set you up with a plug-n-play upgrade that is all GM OEM parts: https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/gm-carplay-android-auto-upgrade-kit/?wams_year=2014&wams_make=GMC&wams_model=Sierra+1500
  2. The 6.7L might not be a rumor. GM has a new design ready for production (which started at 6.6L) that could possibly be modified and used in the light-duty trucks: https://news.gm.com/home.detail.html/Pages/topic/us/en/2026/mar/0326-Deep-dive-2027-Chevrolet-Corvettes-next-generation-V8.html
  3. Known problems with the grounds. Look up PIT5405. It could also be your battery getting bad. These new trucks are very sensitive to battery health. Your battery could still start the vehicle but low voltage to some systems can cause problems. Have somebody run a battery diagnostic, then replace it with an AGM if needed.
  4. There was a TSB for this a long time ago, but unfortunately I don't have the number anymore. Ask your local GM dealer to look through the system for it (doesn't have to be a GMC dealer - just any GM dealer service department).
  5. Right, but when the damper fails then a few weeks later it causes the plastic bushings to crack. So you end up replacing both time-after-time. OP - yes you still need the bushings in there or the tailgate will be loose. But once you install the DeeZee cylinder you won't ever have to replace the bushing or damper again!
  6. I got tired of them wearing out too. Just buy one of these and never look back (mine's been installed for almost 10 years without any problems): https://www.deezee.com/home/productdescription/17904/Truck-Tailgate-Assist
  7. Probably one of the best out there is Texas Speed: https://www.texas-speed.com/c-3255-dodafm-delete-kit_chevrolet-silverado1500-2015.aspx Give them a call and they can set you up with everything you need. Not as cheap as the one you found, but sometimes you get what you pay for so not sure I would trust that first one .....
  8. This. WAMS (Chris White) has been a long-time member of this and many other forums. He has very in-depth knowledge of GM BCMs, HMIs, factory programming, and all the electronics. His follow-on support is also great (you won't get ANY from the ebay sellers). I would spend the extra money and go with WAMS. You will get a factory system from a higher-model truck that is guaranteed to be plug-and-play with your truck, with great support too. Easy-peasey ....
  9. Mine is still working fine (knock on wood ....)
  10. Check these guys out: https://www.youtube.com/@CartNarcs/videos
  11. It requires programming to the VIN. The absolute best at this is Chris White (he is on these boards as granprix). You can also contact him here: https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/ ADDED IN EDIT: Sorry - just saw newdude's post above ....
  12. Okay weird. I have a 2015 and do the exact same things (especially starting with the door open), and with the seat extender plugged in I don't get any chimes at all. That's why I suggested it for you. Sorry it didn't work.
  13. Did you read the posts above? Buy a 3" rigid extender and leave it plugged into the seat part of the driver's seatbelt. No chimes ever again and you can still use your seatbelt like normal.
  14. He is a good mechanic and is absolutely correct -- not all trucks came with the connector installed. As mikey posted, Phil (owner of harnessdr website) is on these forums as "pgamboa" and can help you out. Also there numerous threads on here already covering it (search is your friend), here are a few that include images, videos, and part numbers:
  15. Actually the latest is either Rev D or E, but I don't have access to the database anymore, so I was just listing the "base" PIT number. If somebody takes that to a dealer they can pull the latest revision.
  16. It is a know problem on these trucks. Look up PIT5405. It covers a whole bunch of troubleshooting procedures, especially related to ground points.
  17. If you're blue and you don't know where to go to why don't you go where fashion sits ....
  18. I replaced the factory Ranchos on my 2015 Z71 with "standard" model 4600's all around (stock truck with no lift, lower, or front level). The difference in ride quality was AMAZING ....
  19. Because after the free trial expires you have to pay for a monthly OnStar plan for that to continue to work (at minimum you need the "Remote Access" plan). I think the OP is looking for a free way to do it.
  20. What newdude said. If you use the search feature on these forums you will find lots of thread discussing this, but like the bulletin above says it can't be done.
  21. Lots to read here , but Phil knows his stuff. He is spot-on, especially concerning the BCM. Before that you may even need a different HMI for the higher-level trucks (the heated/cooled option will need to be enabled in the programming, and your current HMI may not even support the option). As he said, contact Chris at WAMS for those components and programming.
  22. Also look for GM bulletin PIT5405. It's been through many updates do I don't know what revision is the latest (it will have a letter at the end). It covers known ground issues as well as some other electrical things to inspect. If you use the search bar in the upper-right of the forums you will find a whole bunch of threads about the electrical issue ....
  23. https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/ Chris is a member and frequents these forums.
  24. deleted post - put in wrong thread!
