    Last time my truck threw a code I disconnected my battery for a minute then reconnected and all good. It was from taking out my air filter and unplugging the MAF

    The low beams are equal to my LED bulb high beams for throw, and better than my girlfriends VW tiguan all around lol . What amazes me the most is the light projected into the ditches, it's almost like a separate beam out of the projector My XB fogs are probably the best fog light I have ever seen. Just a sharp addition of white light onto the road and into the ditches as well, compliments my HIDs perfectly. Then the 30" light bar in the grille just is the frosting on top, like a mini sun in front of the truck for the night time.

    Here's some snaps frpm tonight. Pardon the jetski but there was no other place in my driveway to show the fxr cutoff. Again this is 5500k 50w. Lights were professionally worked on, baked and opened all the way up. Removed the permaseal and replaced with butyl for easier future work on the lights.

    Just had my Sierra retrofitted with FXRS and morimoto 5500k D2S system. Also had the XB LED fogs put in. All I can say is wow what an upgrade. I will try to post pics later tonight. Just crisp and sharp. You could use fogs with low beams and still navigate the dark safely on the highway. What's amazing about the fxrs is even with my 30" light bar in the grille you can still see the high beams project over the flood light of the bar down road.

    I think diamond cote is identical to armaguard. Under the body got sprayed as well and looks even better than the frame. Matte black spray paint is actually a good idea. I already have rustguard paint primer as well. Might have to try the matte paint as a good finishing touch in tougher to reach spots I don't want to spray the rubberized coating. Pm me some pics of before and after of your work! Interested to see how it looks.

    Hey Morris I thought I seem somewhere that you might live around or close to Edmonton? I could be mistaken. There is a shop there that armaguarded my frame. It still chips in small pieces but for almost a year it still looks decent. Any visible chips and I coat it with a rubber guard spray and it blends with the armaguard. I would say to the rest here, don't wait for GM to just band aid your truck, you'll have to resort to a more solid coating or strip the frame and paint. Will post some pics. EDIT: Right after the armaguard was applied. Was applied OVER the frame wax. I was warned it might still easily fall off but I am still impressed at the durability. Limited lifetime warranty as well which I would only take it back if huge chunks started to fall off. Below pics are after a year of use. Lots of gravel miles as well. All the rust/beige spots in these are just the exhaust pipe or dirt sticking to the wax/armaguard. These pics are just after I touch up some spots with the rubber guard spray. This is after a year of use. Plenty of gravel miles as well.

    It would be nice to see just to compare. Here's a picture from another thread, 30K miles and no catch can. From this perspective they actually look comparable... but the lighting is everything

    Does ELITE have a guarantee the same way K+N will cover your engine costs if the air filter is proven to be the cause? If they do, I'll swap my RX right now.

    Compared to some others without a can, this is pretty good. Do you have any close ups of the valves themselves? The whole deal with a catch can voiding warranty is BS, it's the same deal with after market airfilters. Honestly if I had an engine issue which required it to be towed, I'll rip out the CC in just few minutes and return it to stock. I keep tools and a stock PCV hose in my truck for this very reason because I know the dealers would bring it up if something happened.

    I had a rubberized coating/bedliner material sprayed in the fall. I'll share some pictures for what it looks like now after some harsh winter abuse. Honestly there's no other way to deal with the crappy factory wax unless you strip, rust proof/prime and then paint or do something like this. This was applied OVER the factory wax and so far only small pieces of the rubberized coating have chipped off from debris but wax held intact underneath. It was a cheap process ($250 CAD) for doing the frame and underside of the body and it came with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately for people outside of Alberta, seems like this is a niche product for a shop in Edmonton and cannot locate a place in the states or other provinces. The metal parts such as the rear axle and front sway bars and A-arms were not touched, so I sprayed with fluid film and they have no hint of rust.

    I found out there's a GM dealer about 2 hours away from me that does the BG service and they promote it with all of their vehicles with DI every 18k miles (not sure about turbo engines though), which has got me interested. I am sitting at 11000 miles so I got time plus with my catch can it probably prolongs it. The say it does not harm the power train warranty. They also say that it SHOULD start to be implemented as a service requirement in the manual because of the immediate benefits and for longevity of the vehicle, mind you this is their opinion. The cost of the service could easily be made up in the mileage gains if your vehicle has been hit hard enough with coking. I am still surprised by my mileage with my 6.2 even in sub zero temps and crappy winter fuel, I am still achieving 11-12L/100km (20 mpg roughly) on the highways and some mixed town driving.

    I had a product called "Armaguard" done on my frame and I fluid filmed the rest. Basically a rubberized bed liner type coating but slightly softer. Attached pictures.

    I fell victim and have a speedworks can. However just to give an update since I put it on in the summer, I haven't seen signs it is coming apart anywhere, I just have had some leakage from the drain fitting coming loose but tightened up. It's been 5 to 0 F (-15 to -20 C) here where I live, I drain it after every long trip and have been getting close to 1.5-2 oz of fluid every 200-300 miles in these temps. The more bombing around town I do, the more fluid it seems to catch compared to equivalent highway distances. I checked my intake for shits and giggles, compared to me checking prior to putting on the can, there is no noticeable sheen or shine like before. Just looks dry inside the intake which it seems to be doing the job. I still am more of a fan of Elites style of taking the bottom off to see the inside.
