  1. Put my toolbox (trunk) and spare tire back in the bed. Got gas for $2/gallon. Not sure where the family has decided to go this weekend but I didn't want the first stop to be the gas station.
  2. The truck got to double as a workbench the last couple of days. Building a porch/deck for a neighbor. Sunday was just that...sunny and HOT! Yesterday I didn't get to help out until after work so I didn't help a whole lot.

That is one expensive fill up...
  4. No, military paid for the lumber. I hauled it...needed an excuse to haul something in the truck anyway so no big deal. May be working with my landlord to help build a porch for another of his properties, still won't get paid...except in beer which is good enough for me.
  5. Hauled 20 sheets of 3/4" plywood from a local lumber yard to work...our shop truck is getting sketchy about hauling. Plus, I've got a 2500 so I just made the excuse just so I could load up the truck...well light load anyway. Amazing how much nicer a truck rides with a few hundred pounds in the back.
  6. Got to haul away some stuff for a neighbor friend. Wanted to clear out some old kids toys and junk for a birthday party.
  7. Most likely, with the miles this truck has it's going to have a few problems. I'm just hoping once the leaks are fixed it will solve the majority of the problem.
  8. Changed my oil filter last night, seemed pointless to change the oil itself as I'm still leaking quite a bit. Also looked over the engine real good to see what exactly is leaking. So far it's looking like my oil pan and possibly the rear main seal is leaking. My next step is to clean the engine real good and try to verify the leak sources.
  9. Your fan should still be turning on when you are moving. Are you sure the fan are coming on and running at full speed at the correct temp?
  10. Got my fuel filter replaced. It went pretty slick seeming as it's along the frame rail. Took me longer to crawl under the truck. Even managed to not get soaked with fuel run off. Also got a chance to run the 4wd for a bit. We got a lot of rain and my road being dirt made driving pretty greasy. No issues, truck pulled right through no issues.
  11. Picked up & installed new tail gate straps. Old ones looked pretty shady. Also got a fuel filter but I'm planning to change that this weekend. Who knows when it was last changed so preventive maintenance.
  12. Don't know the specs but can tell you I tried using my 400w invertor to plug in a pump for an air mattress and it cut out immediately. I doubt the factory 110v plug will allow you to run that pump.
  13. At least yours was fixed. Some of us weren't so lucky... $3555 seems kind of high but with prices these days I guess that's about right. Almost every panel on my truck has a dent or three so I'd probably pay more then the entire truck's worth to fix mine.
  14. Sure...now I have a truck that has made 300k miles & now you guys talk a million...geez I'm always a step behind...lol
  15. Had to go to the local airport. Went through town to get there & the highway to get home. It was a good stretch of miles. It's probably mental but I swear the truck is riding (drive line) so much better with the new transfer case. Not nearly as much clunking & clanging from below. On and thanks SnakeEyes, I need to clean my K&N as well. Been at least one truck ago...lol
  16. Didn't get a new encoder, rather the shop just gave me the one off my core case. Regardless I have a fully functional, non leaking, no pump rub, transfer case. Not a horrible job, but don't want to do it again any time soon. Now to continue working on engine oil leaks.
  17. Looks like my new transfer case is fine. The encoder motor seems to be the issues. The motor is jammed about 90 degrees off from the shaft on the transfer case. So tomorrow I'm going to see if my warranty will get me a new motor.
  18. Got my transfer case replaced. It was a "reserviced" unit. The removal was a snap, but reinstall was kind of a pain. My problem right now is that the truck is stuck in 4 Low so let the troubleshooting begin.
  19. Sounds like a pooping match to me....lol
  20. You can check with MS3Dale, he should be able to help you out with part numbers and compatibility. I have located a transfer case for the truck. I had to work this weekend but on my next days off I will hopefully have the time to take out the old case and get it swapped out for the "new" case.
  21. Friday got back from vacation. We drove her Jeep so the truck ended up sitting for two weeks. However on Saturday we went to a local beach so the truck got out and stretched for a bit. Also put a deposit down for a "new" transfer case, it's getting pulled and inspected and will hopefully be ready for pick up before too long.
  22. Yes, that is normal operation for your truck's charging system.
  23. My trip to Orlando was great over the weekend. Truck ran great...miss the gas mileage of the old truck though. I got about 14-15 where as the old truck could still get around 20 mpg on regular vs e85. I may have gotten better if I didn't have to go 80 most of the way there to keep up with the caravan I was traveling with. I REALLY like the trans and rear gear set up on this truck. Truck never downshifted going up hills or around the slow guys except maybe 3 times. All three were times I got stuck and had to slow way down before I could pass. Even then it only went down ONE gear instead of 2 like the old truck would.
  24. It sounds like you have an intermittent connection problem, loose or corroded wire or cable. The code in the computer (hopefully there is one) should give you a better idea of the location that is losing connection. If not, you will need to either have a shop/dealer take a look at it or you will need to start tracing wires and cables from the battery to the alternator and hopefully find the failing connection. Sorry if that doesn't help.
