Overall, GM grew at slightly below the industry's average pace in September, but the company's trucks and crossovers again posted notable results. GM's share of the U.S. truck market continues to edge up now touching 39.2% (retail). Very good news to GM, but less so to our members, is that GM's average transaction price is up $800 month over month. Year over year, GM is bringing in a whopping $3200 more per vehicle on average. More of that money is profit too. Incentives dropped $800 compared to last year.

GM says it has an amazing 78% of the full-size SUV market now. Crossover sales are also going well. Equinox is up 42% and Cadillac's underperforming SRX crossover is up 56% this month. Buick's small Encore crossover (one of which joined the extended GM-Trucks.com family this past month) is the leader in its segment and was up a whopping 46% in September.
